CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SIX

Sometimes when one speaks, the truth comes out, a truth that one is reluctant to acknowledge.

I sit by in what is a large herb garden, lost in my thoughts.

All this time, I had closed my eyes to the truth. When I had learnt that Damien was the Righ’s mate and her protector, I had felt shocked and resistant to the idea. But I never really reconciled the real reasoning behind my hesitance.

I run my fingers over a beautiful purple flower growing from a standing bush. Ever since that night when I exploded in front of Damien, saying things that I never thought would pour out from my heart, I’ve not seen him.

But then I’ve also been actively avoiding him.

This whole time I was scared of trusting him with my heart.
