Chapter One Hundred and Seventy Seven

CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SEVEN

“I-” I’m on my feet before I can say anything, he says, “Fera needs you.”

He’s talking to Caleb and the monk abandons me in a heartbeat. The traitor.

I decide to leave, not ready to have this conversation, or any other.

But just as I am about to pass by Damien, he grabs my arm, stopping me, “I think it’s time we talk.”

I hesitate, “I don’t-”

“Well, I do,” he says, simply. “Sit.”

I wonder if his domineering side would ever change.

Damien doesn’t take a seat, pacing for a few moments, as if trying to figure something out. His energy is all riled up. It’s strange to be able to see this darkness leaking from him now. Caleb and Fera haven’t commented on it so I don’t know whether they are able to see it.

Damien’s voice distracts me from my thoughts, “Have I been harsh to you?”
