CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY NINE

“Well, you’re right,” Caleb murmurs, sitting back in his chair. “It’s definitely a sealing spell. And a very strong one at that. Either its caster is an ancient being or just incredibly powerful. I can’t break this.”

I’m immediately plagued by the memory of my brief conversation with my brother which Damien allowed. He had mentioned the curse. Had this been the curse he had been talking about or had he been talking about the curse plaguing the Righs?

However, Caleb’s words catch my attention, “Why would I expect you to be able to break this spell?”

“Because of who I am,” he blinks. “I should be-”

“Who are you, exactly?” I finally demand, a question that has been eating at me since he saved us.

Caleb looks surprised before glancing in Damien’s general direction, who very conveniently looks away.

“Somebody needs to start talking,” I growl. “Now would be preferable.”

“I thought you told her everything!”
