CHAPTER SEVENTY SEVEN
I hesitate, wanting to help. But the dog looks like he’s got this.
However, I see the wolf’s eyes widen in unbridled rage and fear for the dog makes me rush forward and grab it’s fur, shouting, “He’ll kill you! Come on!”
The dog seems reluctant to let go however but I keep yanking at it.
It sinks its teeth into the wolf’s shank once and the shifter’s howl makes me wince, looking over my shoulder. I hiss, “More will come! Let’s go!”
The dog reluctantly releases the wolf and I pull it along with me as I make my way to the entrance. It’s still snarling as the injured wolf glowers at us. But he has been sufficiently injured that he can’t follow us just yet.
The dog seems to get the hint and we escape from the harrowing tunnel.
