The driver brought the car to a halt in front of the archaeology building. He alighted, opened the door and the girls got out and they headed into the building.

Aida was surprised that everyone was walking about minding their business. None of them glanced in her direction. Some even greeted her as they passed by. She felt happy. For once, she was having a day without anyone glaring at her or throwing jabs at her.

"Everyone changed overnight. I can't believe they even know my name." Aida uttered excitedly.

"I hope it lasts forever or they should be prepared to catch these hands," Kehlani remarked and they laughed.

Aida and Kehlani walked into the lecture hall. The front seats had all been occupied so they took a seat at the back while they waited for the lecturer.

Five minutes later, the lecturer arrived. She placed her books on the desk and wrote down the topic on the board.

"Good morning class." She turned to the students. "Today will be talking about 'Ancient Artifacts and their origins'."

"The first Artifact we have is the Nok Art." She held out a large drawing of the Nok Art for them to have a look at. The lecturer handed it over to them to pass it around to have a better look while she continued teaching.

"Nok Art refers to huge humans, animals, and other figures made out of terracotta pottery made by the Nok culture and found throughout a west African country called Nigeria." She explained. "There will be no handouts, I suggest you jot down all that I am saying."

"Over 160 archaeological si—" She was interrupted by a gentle knock on the door. It was the chancellor. She walked in.

"Sorry to interrupt. Good morning students, today a new student will be joining you guys. He has just been transferred from one of the best universities." She announced.

"I thought transfer students weren't allowed to join in the middle of the semester?" Kehlani whispered to Aida.

"I'm as confused as you," Aida replied.

"Mr. Kieran, please come in." The chancellor called out.

Aida's eyes widened as she looked at the door and caught sight of the red-haired man she had spilled her coffee on at the cafe. It seemed to her like the universe was messing with her.

"This is Kieran, your new coursemate." The chancellor introduced him to the class.

Aida quickly looked away when Kieran's eyes fell on her.

"Mr. Kieran, please find a place to seat."

Kieran walked to the back of the class. Aida couldn't help but enjoy the scent of his cologne as he walked past her. He took a seat on the empty seat behind her.

"I'll excuse myself, have a good day class." The chancellor left.

"Welcome to Bright university, Mr. Kieran, I do hope you enjoy your stay." The lecturer said. "Now where were we?"

"Nok Art." One of the students responded.

The lecturer continued talking. She talked about many more Artifacts and showed them pictures of them.

"We have come to the end of this class." The lecturer dropped her book on the desk. "Every one of you will be paired into two. I want each pair to write about other Artifacts, their origin, etc. A list of Artifacts will be provided and you are to pick 3." The lecturer beckoned to the course rep. She handed the list to him and he returned to his seat.

"We have a new student which means there will be a change of partner." The lecture stated. "The course rep will pair every one of you by the initials of your surnames. I want this project to be submitted in a week." She picked up her books. "I shall take my leave now." She said and left the class.

The ladies couldn't help but occasionally steal glances at Kieran. His handsomeness has swept them off their feet. Some of them summoned courage and they went to talk to him.

"Hi, my name is Angela but you can call me Gela for short." One of the girls said. "You are very handsome, and I must say I love the scent of your cologne." She said, trying to get his attention.

Kieran turned to face the girl whose annoying voice was getting on his nerve. He seemed to be attracting annoying humans anywhere he went.

"Do you have a death wish?" He gave her a death glare until she awkwardly walked back to her seat. The other girls hurried back to their seats.

"Angela, I hope your ego hasn't been hurt." The course rep teased Angela who was fuming with rage. "As you can see, he isn't interested in you."

"You are just jealous of the fact that all your plans to woo me failed woefully." Angela fired back.

"I have better things to do than exchange words with you." He retorted.

The course rep picked up the paper and began to call each person's name and his or her partner.

"Khai Aida, your new partner is Kaius Kieran." He said and continued calling out the rest of the names.

Aida took a deep breath to calm her nerves. "Well, things just got interesting." How could they pair her with the one person whom she believed disliked her the most?
