Chapter 13

Author's POV

"We are here guys, let's go"Mark smiled as he walked into the living room with a trailing behind.

"Okay! It's lake time!"Pearl whistled feeling excited. She was adorned in a lacy two-bikini piece with a hat on her head. Her hair fell smoothly in waves on her back.

They all walked out of the house, Nate leading them.

The lake was only a few walks away from the house.

Damon and Lan were behind the crew, walking in slow steps.

"Why are you here? Move ahead" Lan pointed his chin towards their crew ahead of them.

"Nope. These are my legs, I walk how I like"Damon replied smiling cheekily.

" Whatever."Lan scoffed. His feet papped fast on the grass leaving Damon behind.

"That's so.. low lan" Damon snickered.

"Slow down will ya"Damon spoke padding his feet faster. His breath came out in slow pants.

Lan tilted his head back"My feet, my--- Woah..."His leg hit a fallen trunk taking him down.

He landed on his chest, dirt covering his body.

"Ohh! "Damon gasped tilting his head.

He looked ahead. The sight of the crew still moving made him smirk.

He crouched down beside lan grinning from ear to ear.

"What were you saying again? "He held his chin pretending to remember.

"---Yes! My feet may what?... choice? Or was it a decision? "He tilted his head staring at him.

Lan's eyes were shooting lasers at him. He pulled himself up sitting on his butt. He leaned back on a tree and dusted his body.

"You're such a brute! "His eyes judging him.

Damon chuckled and sat down to face him. He held his legs up leaning on his knees.

"Really?" He asked cheekily.

"Yes really. "Lan replied with sarcasm.

"You don't like it?"Damon asked with a raised brow amusement dancing in his eyes.

Lan snickered"Who will moron" he rolled his eyes fed up with Damon.

"Well..my exes did"Damon's eyes flickered with mischief.

"Well, they must be sick in the head like you then"Lan mumbled.

Damon's grin was wide as it took over his face "Oh they were." he replied smugly.

"--but if you want me to be gentle with you, I can" he moved with graceful steps like a panther on all fours towards him. His eyes locked on Lan.

Lan's breath came out as pants. He leaned back on the tree trying to merge with it as Damon approached him like a hunter with his eyes targeted on his prey.

"W-what's w-wrong with y-you?"Lan stuttered breaking out in sweats.

"Nothing. Just trying to be gentle with you, like you wanted."Damon replied calmly. His breath fanned Lan's face. He sniffed him like a dog.

"I can smell your fear," he said with a rough edge in his voice.

" C-can you just move away please"Lan felt breathless? He could feel his breath fanning his face. The breeze blew his scent into his nose and made him take a whiff of that masculine scent.

Damon stared at his face. The space between their faces was so small that from someone else's view it looked like they were kissing.

"Look at me" his voice commanded.

Lan shook his head looking everywhere but his face.

"Look," Damon said with an edge in his tone.

Lan's eyes met with his speed.

"I am a brute Lan. A big fat brute. I don't know how to be gentle, not to anyone"He spoke with a blank face.

Lan felt his breath sieze. Somehow he felt like there was more to his words than he could process at the moment.

Damon grinned pulling back. He stood on his feet chuckling.

"You should see your face, you looked scared" He laughed at him.

Lan felt himself taking in a deep breath relieved by the space between them.

He stood on his feet gritting his teeth. His cheeks puffed out as they gave him a cute look.

"Let's go before they think you kidnapped me"Lan spoke grumpily. He dusted his cloth once more about to take a step when he tripped on his feet clumsily.

Damon caught him, pulling his body hard on his. His hand wrapped protectively around his waist.

Lan's body became ridged. He could feel the body heat he was emitting, making him more conscious of their position.

"Won't you like that..."Damon whispered.

"L-like what?"Lan asked breathlessly. He wasn't sure why he was still in his arms and not running away already.

"--me kidnapping you."His breath fanned his ear softly.

Lan gasped. His eyes are wide as saucers. His mind was buzzing with adrenaline but his body felt like putty refusing to move an inch.

"What's going on here?"Mark asked with wide eyes.

Lan felt his heart stop when he heard him. He tried pulling himself away but Damon's grip felt tighter.

"Nothing" Damon replied with a blank face.

Mark's eyes bored holes at the hand wrapped around lan.

"Then why is he in your arms?" he asked doubtfully.

"He twisted his ankle"Damon replied smoothly.

Lan felt like a puppy amid wolves.

Mark's stance showed how angry he was. But Damon was just too cool to be bothered.

Mark approached them. His eyes glanced down at Lan's ankle briefly before it came up to his face.

"Are you okay?" he asked softly.

Lan nibbled on his lips and nodded.

"Come" he held his arm about to pull him out of Damon's hold.

Damon grabbed his hand "Don't worry I will help him" he replied with a smile.

Mark glanced at the hand holding his hand. He pulled his hand off and took a step back.

Lan felt like he was in the middle of some kind of hidden battle he knows nothing off.

He could feel the danger pouring out from their pores.

He tried once again to get out of the situation but Damon's hold was as strong as iron.

Mark's eyes didn't miss the action as he observed them.

"We reached the lake and I noticed you both were missing. I was worried, so I decided to come to look" he spoke, his entire focus on lan.

Lan felt embarrassed"I am sorry I caused you so much trouble" he apologized.

"You didn't"Mark smiled at him.

" Let's go shall we"Damon spoke already lifting lan in his arms.

Lan squealed in shock. His pulse racing "W-what are---"

"Shhhh.. you're injured"Damon cut him off already walking away leaving Mark behind.

'but I am not. Or am I?' Lan's mind spoke feeling confused at the situation.

Mark walked behind them in slow steps. His heart was burning in more fury than he could know what to do with.
