Author's POV
Lan woke up to yet another amazing day. The awkward air between him and Mark already died down as they found themselves spending time playing video games and laughing off their failed attempts at victory.
It's mid day and the sun is high up in the sky like any other day.
Lan is plopped on top of Mark on the bed as they lazied around after their game.
"What should we do now...I'm getting bored" Lan complained pouting his lips.
He folded his arms on top of Mark's chest staring into his eyes with a plea.
"How about we cuddle some more and then watch a movie?" Mark suggested with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Lan grumbled in frustration.
"No way! We did that yesterday. I will go home if you don't come up with something" Lan threatened him.
Mark expression changed to one of panic. He tightened his arms around Lan restricting his movement.
"How about we go to the Park. I heard it's opened up for the fair tomorrow?" Mark suggested, apprehension clear in his eyes.
Lan's face was expressionless making Mark believe he hated the idea.
His face lost its colour as he tried thinking of a better idea.
Lan noticing his expression lightened up and chuckled.
"Let's do it!" He said with excitement jumping down from the bed to change up.
Mark smiled shaking his head at his childish behaviour.
Heading to the fair was a bit of a challenge for them. Mark's carless-ness making them take a taxi as the park was a bit of a distance.
It was the biggest park in the town and has been closed for a while but due to the fair the town was hosting tomorrow it's been opened for a while.
Lan sat by the door facing the road as Mark sat beside him a hand placed on his thigh.
The wind blowing his hair as he kept his face outside the window enjoying it. His lips tugged up in a smile as he enjoyed the wind in his hair.
He can't remember when he has ever been this happy. His life has always been boring but ever since he started dating Mark he has brought colour into his dull life.
He turned to stare at Mark who was busy tapping away on his phone. Lan's face couldn't hide how happy he felt that his eyes glazed with unshade tears.
Stuck with happy feelings, he dropped a quick abrupt kiss on Mark's forehead startling him.
Mark stared at him confused but still the love his eyes housed and the rosey tint of his cheeks couldn't hide how pleased he was by the action.
Lan didn't explain his actions but turn towards the window again. Deep within him he was a bit scared though.
Scared of the unknown. Scared that he has been leaving a dream and that he might wake up anytime soon.
If it was all a dream,he never wants it to end for he was finally at peace.
He was still staring out of the window when he spotted someone talking to someone on the sidewalk which caused him to frew his brows.
But since the taxi was moving he wasn't sure if it was a mistake or if he really saw him.
"Was that Damon? " He mumbled to himself.
"No..what would he be doing this far. I'm sure he couldn't be living here. I'm mistaken" he shook his head.
It wasn't long the taxi ride was over as they stepped out.
Mark paid the driver and off they went into the huge park. Like always the set up was amazing.
Lan hasn't been to any of the Fairs before but from what he has heard about it,they were always colourful and amazing.
The set up for the fair tomorrow was beautiful. Different game shops were already set up although closed.
Different fun devices and gadgets were laid out with parents and their kids, couples moving around.
Mark held his hand and pulled him forward as they walked looking for what ride to take.
Lan kept staring around excited, a grin on his lips. His eyes spotted an Ice cream vendor making them widen. He pulled a distracted Mark with him excitedly towards the vendor.
He loved ice creams so much. But no one really knew cause he'd always hide it believing it was childish.
But now being away from everyone and with Mark made him want to have a taste.
They both stopped at the vendor store, kids standing in a short line for a scoop.
"What flavour would you like sir?" The vendor asked once it was their turn.
Lan's mouth watered as he saw the different flavors in display. He clutches his hands seeming in daze staring at them.
"Lan? Lan!" Mark shook him out of his fantasy.
"What flavour would you like?" He asked chuckling in amusement.
Lan's cheeks turned red in embarrassment."Chocolate and strawberry please" he said in a meek voice.
The vendor nodded.
"I will get Vanilla" Mark added earning a shocked look from Lan.
"You lick ice cream?" He asked seeing Mark in a new light.
Mark raised a brow"Who doesn't?" he asked.
"Adults don't. It's for children" Lan said already accepting his childish heart.
Mark chuckled at his words, taking the ice cream from the vendor and giving him his.
"Then I guess we are still kids then. Let's go look for our mama" he laughed and paid the amused vendor earning a laughter from Lan as well.
"Let's go there" Lan point at the ferris wheel taking a lick of his ice cream.
They paid for the ferris wheel taking a seat like everyone else.
Lan was excited. He kept licking his ice cream kicking his leg in excitement. This was his first time ever on a ferris wheel.
The ride started earning a squeal of delight out of his mouth and everyone else.
So far Mark was quiet. His grip firm on the seat handle. Only the widening of his eyes could give away how scared he was but a happy Lan was too ignorant to notice.
The ride went on and on till it stopped and they came down. Some, more than happy to come down but Lan wasn't.
Immediately they came down, Mark hunched over and threw up everything in his system.
"Are you okay?!" Lan asked in worry patting his back slowly.
He got up and wiped his mouth nodding his head.
"Are you sick?" Lan's eyes scanned his face with worry.
"Don't worry, I am fine."
"How can I not worry, you just threw up" Lan complained.
He took the handkerchief from Mark's hand and wiped off the sweat that stained his forehead making a smile form on Mark's face.
"I'm just scared of heights" Mark explained.
Lan's eyes widened in surprise.
"Why didn't you say so. We wouldn't have gone on." He glared annoyed.
Mark waved him off with a smile.
"How could I, you were excited and I was the one who suggested we come here so... " He shrugged.
Lan pouted dissatisfied with his response.
"You should speak up if you don't like something. I always want to know" Lan cautioned him, a firm look on his face.
"Yes sir" Mark saluted and chuckled.
"I'm serious Mark" Lan glared at him annoyed that he wasn't taking him serious.
"I know... I know" Mark said still smiling.
"Now let's go find a more less frightening ride " Lan said pulling him towards the other rides.
