Strange And Nerve-racking

"Thank you," Lina smilingly said, receiving the cup of steamed milked coffee Pete had just ordered for her over the counter of the cafeteria they were currently seated.

"You're welcome," He replied and slipped onto the seat opposite her, placing his coffee on the table.

He followed her gaze to the shop just across the road, which was being painted, before staring at her face.

Hints of anxiety, worry and fear edged around her face and hovered in her eyes. Something bothered her mind, and he was curious as to what it was.

"I'm sure they'll do a good job." He said, and Lina blinked, shifting her eyes back to him.

"Pardon?"

Pete tipped his chin towards the direction of the shop. "The painters, they'll do a good job. They came highly recommended."

"Oh," She muttered and nodded. Picking up the spoon, she stirred her coffee, albeit distractedly.
