Her Future And Now

Goodbyes were hard to watch, and it was even harder with those cute pouts, teary eyes, lingering holds and hugs that were difficult to break.

Max was at the brink of tears as he said goodbye to Serena, his hand tightly holding on to hers, and his big blue eyes gleaming with sorrowful mist.

"Uncle Pete, can Ena sleep here?" His cute little voice asked wistfully, his teary blues eyes glistening with more tears. His countenance was irresistible and unable to hold himself back, Pete picked him up into his arms, his hand reluctantly letting go of Serena's.

"I'm sorry, Champ, but Ena here has to go home. Her mummy and her are tired and you have school tomorrow, or don't you want to go to school?"

There was no hesitation when he shook his head much to Pete's amusement, and the determination in his eyes told Pete that was a definite answer. Chuckling he tousled his dark brown hair.
