Chapter 13

As Norman was sitting in the hall, Karen, the June Empire Princess reported to him.

Norman nodded and left the hall quickly arriving at the Teleportation Formation.

''Here.''

Selecting a small mountain on the map, Norman felt the air twist around him as he reappeared thousands of miles away.

He appeared on a small mountain a few hundred metres tall. There were five small huts constructed on the mountain out of wood and stone, with Mortal Workers bustling around.

This was the Sects checkpoint that Norman ordered to be built. The Main Sect Mountain is deeply hidden surrounded by thousands of mountains and formations.

He doesn't want anyone to know where it is, so he ordered this Checkpoint.

It will function as the Second base for the Sect. the Transport point for information and resources.

Fortunately the Teleportation Formation can create sub locations as well. Permanently allowing a transport location.

''Greetings Sect Leader!''

As soon as Norman appeared, two disciples guarding the formation bowed down. Both of them in the Fourth Realm of Qi Refining and disciples getting the Spiritual Liquid.

''Good job you two. I will transfer over some Handymen to come over and assist you. In managing this place. Now take me to the Empire Envoys.''

Norman was led by the Disciples to the largest building, a hall and saw dozens of carriages filled with goods stored outside.

''Greetings to the Senior Immortal!''

The members of the Envoy saw Norman coming and bowed down, their postures very low. Each of them were dressed in beautiful robes and exquisite pieces of jewellery but they were only Mortals over all.

''Who are you?''

Norman glanced at them condescendingly.

There were 14 Envoys, each with a large carriage beside them. However Norman also noticed that each of them had a young child beside them.

''Senior, I am the Envoy from the Black Mountain Empire. We have come to you under the recommendation of the June Empire.''

''We are willing to pay 10% of our empire's yearly income to the Sect in trade for independence. We will also assist in the Seniors mission of recruiting talented children.''

''Once a year we are willing to organise our Noble descendants to convene in the Capital in order to allow Senior to come and recruit disciples.''

Norman listened to the Envoy speaking, but as he heard more and more his face showed a condescending look.

''10%? And the Noble Children?''

''Is this the same idea of the rest of you empires?''

Norman glanced at the other 13 empires who showed looks of solidarity.

''Yes Senior.''

''Haha then you can all leave now.''

Norman's blunt words caused the Envoys to change their looks. Originally they expected him to haggle and were willing to increase their yearly tax. But not this!

''Senior, what do you mean? Are you not happy with our annual payment? If not we can always provide more?''

''No, this is the offer. 25% of your Annual Income is sent to the Sect, in trade our disciples will protect your Imperial City and test all the children in the Empire for talents.''

''As for your so-called independence, forget it. You can either become a subsidiary force to our sect or I will replace you.''

Norman spoke casually but his words caused anger to bubble up in the Envoys bodies.

Their empires had survived for hundreds and thousands of years! Since when have they been offended this much?

But these people in front of them wiped out a 3 Million Army with only 6 people. Even if their 14 armies add up to tens of millions there are clearly more than 6 people in the Sect.

''Greetings to the Senior. I am the Envoy from the Otuku Empire, I agree to your conditions. Please accept these treasures as a gift.''

''I do implore the Senior to test the talent of our crown prince.''

After five minutes Norman finally heard the first response. And it seemed to set off a domino effect.

''The Blackwing Empire is willing to accept the conditions.''

''The West Forest Empire are willing to accept the conditions''

''The Barbarian Empire are willing to accept the conditions.''

Slowly 12 of the 14 Empires willingly gave up their power. Leaving only two. The first to speak Black Mountain Empire and their neighbouring ally.

''Good! You 12 wait here. As for you two, please leave.''

Norman watched as the 2 carriages pulled away with a ruthless smile on his face. Turning to one of the disciples beside him.

''Go and call Deacon Pete and Thailia to bring 10 Disciples each to both empires. I want them both wiped out and the Empires controlled forcibly.''

''Also bring 12 disciples to assist each of the empires that resided with us.''

Norman spoke quietly in their ears as one of them rushed off before turning back to the Envoys.

''You made the correct decision to have our Sect as your backing. Now as promised bring your 12 children forward to be tested.''

Norman glanced at the groups of children scanning over them with his System.

''You three stay. Unfortunately the rest of you have no talent.''

He pointed at three children in the group and was slightly disappointed. The best was a single third-class talent while the other two were Fifth-Class Talents!

Ordinarily Norman wouldn't accept them. However in recognition of the newfound reliance on the Sect, Norman took the initiative to recruit them anyway.

''You two will practise here from now on as workers in the Checkpoint.''

Norman had made a decision. Not recruiting Fifth-class talents was a bit of a waste. But it was a waste to take them to the main mountain.

These Checkpoints work perfectly as a place to use the disciples. Train them here and then send them out into the world to gather resources and control the Sects properties!

''Transfer these treasures back.''

Norman glanced at the disciples and left with the new Third-Class Recruit sending him to the Outer Sect Area before returning to the Sect Leaders Hall.
