Chapter 14

And two hours later, Karen returned with a small sheet of parchment.

''Sect Leader, the report has come in from the Disciples in charge of the CheckPoint.''

''The Envoys left with a disciple each to return to their Imperial Capital. It shouldn't take too long before they are under our control. Both Deacons have left with a team to destroy the two Empires that refused to cooperate.''

Norman heard the report and nodded.

''Good, ask Deacon Kieran to overwatch the disciples residing in the new subordinate Empires. The disciples are still young after all. They might be strong but if something happens it would be a big loss.''

''How valuable were the gifts?''

Karen heard the question and moved onto the next sheet of paper.

''Sect Leader the different Empires gave us a total of 10,000 Silver Coins each. But more importantly they each gave us more than a dozen deeds for properties and shops in their Imperial City.''

''Really? Deeds?''

Norman heard this and was quite surprised. He hadn't really thought about developing the Sects business. But now that he thought about it, it was really viable.

''Bring the Deeds here, and call in Deacon Mary.''

Norman frowned, sending Karen away after she returned with a large stack of papers.

''Sect Leader you wanted to see me?''

Fifteen Minutes later Deacon Mary arrived in the Hall.

''Yes I need your opinion on something. Which of the Deacons do you believe is most suitable for managing a Chamber of Commerce?''

''I intend to separate the Chamber of Commerce from the Sect and allow them to recruit people independently. Only acting as support when they need it. In this way if things happen the responsibility can be diverted from us.''

Norman frowned thinking it through.

There were positives and negatives to this.

The positives are naturally the unrelated nature of the Chamber of Commerce to the Sect, only responsible for sending money back. And Norman is still able to use the Disciple Registry on the Chamber of Commerce ensuring loyalty.

But the downside is that the fright factor of the Immortal Sanctuary Sect isn't there. It's equivalent to people not taking into account the Immortal Sanctuary Sect when they are attacking the Chamber of Commerce.

''Sect Leader, the most recently recruited Deacon is quite suitable for this Position. Deacon Talon is smart and quick witted. I think if you give him some disciples he can easily take care of just these Deeds.''

''Ok go and call Deacon Talon here.''

Soon Norman had explained the situation to Deacon Talon and they came to a decision.

''Take 10 Third-Class Disciples and 50 Fourth-Class Disciples out and situate yourself in the Empires. The Deeds will be in your hands from now on.''

''20% of the annual income will be sent back to the Sect while the rest is in your hands.''

[Ding]

[Congratulations to the Host for creating the Imperial Chamber of Commerce.]

[Imperial Chamber of Commerce (Subsidiary Force)

Merchant Grade: Grade 10

Members: 1 Deacon, 10 Disciples (Third Class), 50 Handymen (Fourth Class)

Business Value: 3

Industries: (Click To Expand)]

''Business Value of 3? System what does that mean?''

Norman was surprised to see another function of the System Open. A small panel had appeared in front of him showing the Immortal Sanctuary Sect at the top of the List, with a small arrow pointing down to the Imperial Chamber of Commerce.

[Host the Business Value is applied to Subsidiary Forces intended on becoming Merchants. 1 is equivalent to a Mortal Business, 10 is a Qi Refining Group, 100 is a Foundation Group and so on.]

[The Higher the Business Value the more valuable the business is.]

''I see. So this only takes into account the Industries not the strength of the Business itself. It seems like those dozens of deeds are already quite decent in the Mortal Industries but not enough.''

Norman frowned but didn't rush it. After all, business is different to managing a Sect. Even if you can forcibly occupy the shop, without a supply channel there is no point.

''Instead it's up to Talon to take care of it.''

Norman sent off Talon with confidence.

One Deacon and ten Qi Refining Cultivators are more than enough to manage the Mortal Properties.

Satisfied with the day Norman delved into practise enjoying the benefits from an Eternal Physique.

''Sect Leader.''

In an instant two weeks passed by. Norman was deep in practice when Deacon Pete with a large sheet of paper.

''Sect Leader, we have destroyed the two Empires capitals and the resources from their Treasuries have been transferred back. However there have been rebellions occurring and disobedience in the cities.''

''As a result I am the only one free enough to return back and they need me to return soon.''

Norman awoke on the large throne looking lazily down at Deacon Pete. A faint smile was on his face as the MIssion panel appeared in front of him.

[Released Mission: Occupy the Broken Valley

Successfully claim the entire Broken Valley as your own territory.

45% Occupied

Reward: 1,000 Sign in Opportunities]

''45% Occupied already? It seems using the Spiritual Liquid on those Third-Class Disciples wasn't a waste. Especially before Spiritual Aura in the world hasn't recovered yet.''

Norman glanced at the 44 Drops of Spiritual Liquid left and frowned. Although he wanted to give the rest of it to the Third-Class Disciples, he would regret it if he became a talented disciple and had no resources to train them.

''Forget it, keep it for now. There is no time limit for me right now the mission can be completed regardless of the time.''

Norman smiled faintly.

''How much did you acquire from the two Empires?''

''My Lord, we acquired over a Million Gold Coins and piles of Silver it has all been moved to the Sect's treasury.''

''However we found something more worrying Sect Leader.''

Petes face suddenly turned serious.

''Inside the Black Mountain Emperors study we found two Cultivation Techniques still readable. Although they are both Low-Black Grade Techniques it seems like they were trying to practise them.''

''The Emperors might be noticing that Cultivators are starting to reappear and understand the meaning of this Sect Leader.''

Hearing this Norman also turned serious. The reason why the Broken Valley was being captured so easily was because of the Empires only having Mortals.

But now the First Empire has been found with a Cultivation Technique!
