Chapter 3

Driving down the track while thinking, he decided to stop by and buy some grocery.

"That would be 29 dollars and 50 cents, sir", the sales attendant said

Rummaging through his pockets, he realized he had not more than 20 dollars

"Hmmm, I am sorry, but I would like to remove some things, I have only 20 dollars", he apologized

Feeling the disdain the attendant had in her eyes, he didn't mind as he really couldn't pay for the products, while deciding on what to remove someone behind him spoke up

"I'll pay for he rest of his bill, just place it on my tab"

"No need Ma'am, I will just take what I can pay for, but thanks"

"No need to be polite young man, I have seen boys your age buying drugs and cigarettes with the money they earn, so paying for the food stuff isn't really a problem for me just take it as a first meeting gift if you would feel burdened by it", the middle aged woman with amazing green hair spoke.

"Thank you, very much".

He waited outside for the woman, so he could get to know her properly.

"Ahh, I knew you would be right here, lets walk down to my car, it's a little far though since I could not find a place to park, shall we?"

They walked two blocks down before they saw her car, a very well used Mustang.

She opened the car boot and placed her purchase in it.

"Let's enter the cafe, I am sure we have a lot to talk about, especially over a hot cup of cocoa", she smiled at him

His heart skipped a few beats, he didn't know why but he felt that their conversation was going to be phenomenal.

After they had introduced themselves, the woman's name being Morgan O'Wallen.

They began their very phenomenal talk.

"You are a different species aren't you, young Carl, much different from your ancestors, though I doubt they knew, or you would have received much better training", she began

His heart leaped again but this time out of shock and disbelief. He quickly tried to call himself down but the damage had already been done.

"W-what do you mean, I-III don't understand what you are saying, Ma'am", he stuttered terribly

"You don't have to be formal with me, and you do know very well what I am talking about, Alpha"

"Your pack had been through a tribulation that they failed to surpass, but they did well by helping you and your brothers escape it or the calamity would have been much worse. Did you perhaps forget the price they had to pay to bring you out of that carnage?".

He remembered, too well for comfort.

They had all been preparing for the launch of the Beta 3 series, the serum used to remove the smell from a wolf to make them undetected, and also reduce the tendency of their turning since it was always random and their wolf listened more to emotions than reason. This would have helped them control their wolf so as not to cause trouble and anger the Council, but greed doesn't choose a race. Their uncle had decided he wanted all the glory to himself and had sold them out to the humans. For promised wealth and power he did the unthinkable. Betrayal is a taboo in the community, anyone labelled as such would be banned forever.

This led to the loss of over a thousand pack members with his parents, the masterminds behind the Serum, falling victim in a bid to let them escape, all four of them.

So he did remember.
