The light at the end of the tunnel is just the light of an oncoming train.

Tony's pov.
Adora had fallen asleep shortly after our 'talk', we had been at the entrance of the Blue Moon pack for about fifteen minutes now, I was letting her sleep for a while before we went, she needed it, she was not ok, never had been but that was never in my place to know or ask seeing as she had never considered me a partner let alone a friend and I honestly couldn't blame her because I could tell she had had a rough past. I never pitied her, I in fact was envious of her, she was strong, brave, resilient, courageous a genius you name it all, she was the best at what she did, her work was never flawed, ever, and I must admit I was kind of worried at first about having her as my partner but as time went by I was glad and honored to have been paired up with her, but she didn't need to know that of course.
I still remembered the first time we met, about two years ago, I had been a nervous wreck, and that is saying a lot considering I was a retired alpha, I smiled vividly at the memory of our introduction and I couldn't help but still feel slightly embarrassed of my younger self .
flashback to two years ago.
I could feel everyone's eyes on me as I walked to the reception desk to inquire about Adora's whereabouts since she was not in the office I had been directed to, the perks of being a new employee I guess, I had politely declined to have a staff member show me around and only asked for directions and a map of the place, hoping that my partner and I would get to bond as she showed me around, goddess I had been such a clown back then.
Adora had not been in her office when I went to look for her, and after waiting for about ten minutes, I decided to finally walk up to the reception and ask for help, something I detested doing. All I heard from the heads about Adora were nothing but praises among praises, and how I was lucky to have her as my partner, and a warning too, that I may get intimated by her which I'd brushed off.
"Hello Linda, I'm Tony, the new agent, do you have any idea as to where Miss Darwina could be right now, she's my partner," I asked with a smile, while drumming my fingers quietly on the reception table.
"Its, Adora." she answered, with a smile and I was a bit confused at that, I was pretty sure her name was Linda, I could have sworn,......."
My thoughts were cut short by her voice again, "No, no, not me, she goes by Adora, she'll have your head for using her middle name, and she's always out in the training room at this time, do you know where it is or should I ask someone to help you out?" She asked rather sweetly, but I shook my head no, thanking her for the heads up about Adora, and as I turned to leave, ignoring the head comment, then I heard her call me back
"Yes Linda"
"Everybody knows you're the new agent sir," She told me with a playful smile and I couldn't help but laugh, of course they could tell, I was the only one here with a suit on, thank you very much wifey, and now to find my partner.
After a few minutes of wondering outside the building, I finally found the semi-opened building that I had been looking for and I couldn't have been more excited, I was met with a strange and powerful aura upon entering the training area and I couldn't help but wonder if there was another alpha here, which was strange considering I hadn't been informed of one, I followed the smell and it led me to a medium sized room with treadmills and a wrestling pitch, It was quiet with only one tread mill running and on it was one of the scariest werewolves I was yet to meet, I could only see her back, she had shorts on and a tight vest, headphones and the longest and messiest hair I had ever come across, but what shook me the most was her hair color, red and white, really? I never judged by appearance but was she supposed to be the toughest person in this whole organization, but all I saw was a messy 20 year old who was either color blind or just had a poor taste in colors.
I stood quietly behind her, not wanting to interrupt her training sessions, She knew she wasn't alone anymore and I did not want to come off as an impatient and rude partner on our first encounter, she was done minutes later, switched off the treadmill and turned to face me, I was lost for words for a little while, Agent Adora was simply divine, she was rather tall and strong, flawless skin and a rare beauty, but then there was something else....power... her aura was different from any other wolves I'd ever countered, her face devoid of any emotions, blank and mysterious, staring deep into my soul and for the first time in my life I felt......intimidated.
She walked past me, nodding her head in acknowledgement as she went to grab a water bottle, "A suit huh? You really went all out with this agent thingy." those were the first words she'd said to me, classic Adora, I smirked slightly, trying to hide the fact that I felt intimidated and nervous, and my wolf for some reason was becoming restless, weird. "Of course you noticed that." I had replied bravely, walking towards her in an attempt to shake her hand for formalities, which she had rolled her eyes at and proceeded to take her things, leaving my awkward self standing with a stretched out arm which I had slowly pulled back hoping to save myself some embarrassment, while reassuring myself that it could have been worse.
I watched her back walk out of the room and stopped short upon reaching the door, and sighed deeply before she said "I hate it when my trainings are interrupted", I nodded in understanding a forced smile on my face, my excitement was all gone by now, replaced by disappointment caused by my own expectations, as usual, "Oh and Tony, " She called out "yeah" I answered, "I think you look sharp in that suit, your partner has great taste" and then she was gone, and my smile was back on my face, just like that, maybe it wasn't going to be that bad after all.
