TORMENT

There's no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

Maya Angelou.

Adora's pov.

Blue moon pack was nothing out of the ordinary, it was exactly how I'd pictured it in my head, houses in rows with the Alpha's being the biggest and the furthest from the rest, a hospital, meeting hall, school and a training ground, just a typical pack, like its Alpha, Daniel, nothing out of the ordinary. We were guided in by one of the female guards to their meeting hall where the supposed alpha would be waiting for us.

He was an okay man physically, a tall and lean body, blue eyes and short brunette hair gelled backwards. The meeting room he chose was much smaller than what I had in mind seeing as it seemed to occupy at the most 7 people, which meant that it was for much private meetings leading to the conclusion that the alpha had not yet informed his pack members about the found murders .....interesting.

He nodded politely at the guard, quietly dismissing her, while motioning for us to join him at the weirdly shaped table, there was mothing off about this place so I figured I could as well get a little comfortable. "Hello, miss Adora, Tony." He greeted calmly, "Daniel." Tony and I answered in sync and I almost rolled my eyes at that, "Where are the bodies, and the females," I questioned before we could begin on anything else, I had to make sure everything was in place first. "They are safe, unharmed." He answered, "good" Tony commented while I nodded in agreement.

"Why then have you brought as here Daniel?" Tony asked as if he had just read my mind, why were we in a meeting room if the bodies were safe, what else was there to uncover?

Daniel rubbed his temple, suddenly looking tired and a slight tinge of worry crossed his eyes, his heartbeat was still normal which meant whatever he had to say was either going to be really bad or really good because he was trying so hard to contain himself. He stood up and began to pace around the room for a few seconds before he finally went back to his seat, yep it was really bad. "The bodies," he said then went silent again, I had very little patience and even that was beginning to slip away from me, Daniel looked to be in his mid twenties which meant he'd been an alpha for a while, at least long enough to not make dumb decisions, I hoped.

We waited silently for him to speak up, he was still the alpha after all and we were in his territory which did not give us much power to do anything, for now.

"I have had the bodies for a week now, " Yeah am sorry what! I found myself laughing at his words, surely he was just joking, every werewolf in existence knew just how fast our bodies decomposed, it was amongst one of the ugly rules of nature, and he being the alpha especially knew how hard it was, sometimes even impossible to get anything from a dead body due to the stench and early decomposition he wasn't that stupid, it was basic knowledge, my laughter wasn't a happy one though, it was my what the **ck laughter and it never usually ended in happy tears.

"The bodies were found on my border, mine, it was my pack members that were injured, I had to do something about it first, I couldn't just trust anyone to walk in my territory disrupting my member's peace and dealing with what was supposed to be my problem." He growled out angrily and Tony, the sane one growled back, "Why did you call us then if you have everything under control." Tony questioned him sarcastically, and I could see the resolve in Daniel's eyes slowly die away.

"There is nothing ok, no scent, no identification of the rogues anywhere, no loose end, its as if they all killed themselves, there was nothing out of place, no matter how hard we looked, it was the perfect kill."

"Do you realize what you've done." Tony asked him way too calmly and I knew he was about to blow up.

"What else do you want me to say huh? I have a pack to protect, a family, I only did what I thought was right."

"What about the injured females,?" I asked him, still trying to assess the damage he might have done, "They are healing, though a little bit slower than usual."

"Ok then, I guess you have all this figured out then, good luck alpha Daniel, Tony are you ok driving?." I said while rising to my feet, this was useless, if the alpha saw fit to deal with his problems so be it, we had another pack to visit and a luna to find.

"You know it." Tony answered back, smiling as he rose to follow mw outside and before I could even begin to process it I heard a loud thud and alas! There was Tony in front of me, being held down by a big black wolf and all I saw was red, the nerve of this incompetent excuse of an alpha, I let out a loud growl as I lunged forward to where they were, holding the alpha's throat with my human hands, I knew Tony could protect very well protect himself but all this lousy excuse of a man had done ever since we arrived was to piss me off and I had been patient enough.

I pushed him off Tony as I pinned him to the ground, leaving him with very little space to escape or struggle as I hovered over him, my canines were out but I was still very much in human form, I could see the shock registering in his eyes as they switched to blue then black to blue and finally black and I snarled at that, He may be an alpha, but he was no match to a guardian she wolf who was half lycan, I didn't even notice I was strangling him until the door burst fully open and a pregnant she wolf came running in ready to attack me while screaming Daniels name is when I finally let go, leaving him gasping for air probably wondering how such a small girl with poor color choices managed to hold down a fully shifted four foot wolf.

He held her back, hugging her as she began sobbing hysterically talking about how I almost killed her mate, and how she wanted me out bla bla bla, Tony was still sat on the ground, mouth agape at what he had just witnessed and I shrugged lazily at him, I wouldn't have killed him it was just a warning, "Look here Daniel, we don't do what we do because we want people to trust us, we do it because its our job and we love doing it, plus we also get paid to do it, every problem outside your park is our problem, we have been trained for it, we live for it, we know what we are doing, where to look and what to look for, and if you can't trust the agency to deal with your problems first hand, then do not waste our time."

He nodded, his throat was still a bit red from the strangling but he would heal, "I was just scared," he spoke while looking at his wife's belly and I understood, he was doing what he thought was the best, he wanted quick answers, hoping that he would be able to keep his unborn child and wife safe as well as the other members, and as irrational as it was, I understood, haven't we all been there before.

"Take us to the bodies, and the injured females, we'll see where we can go from there." I told him, as I moved to where Tony was, giving him a hand while thinking, I didn't have the impulse to kill someone today regardless of the power I had over him, it was a great improvement and I totally deserved the pat on the back from Vona.
