Chapter 172: It’s My Fault

My phone rang just as I said goodbye to some investors from Singapore who were interested in a merger that I had no interest in pursuing. The meeting had already put me in a bad mood. They had no intention of learning about the company or its work ethic, not to mention its social programs. That wasn’t the kind of people I wanted to do business with.

When it rang again, I almost didn’t pick up.

“Mr. Astor?” a lady on the line said.

“Yes?”

“I’m calling with your fertility test results. I just want to confirm the email address you want it sent over to.”

“Oh,” I said and gave her my email.

“Would you like me to go through the results with you? Your doctor could provide more accurate information, but we like to explain to our clients what they’re looking at in case they don’t have appointments with their physicians for some time.”

“Sure, let me open it up,” I replied, turning on my computer. I had turned it off already, eager to get home to Shelby.
