Chapter 173: FBI And IVF

I winced as I eased the little needle into the fold of tummy fat just above the waistline of my jeans. One would think after all of the shots of medication and hormones I had to give myself over the course of IVF, it would have gotten easier. However, it hadn't.

This one was to keep me from ovulating. It seemed strange that in order to get pregnant, I had to prevent my body from doing what it normally should do. But, in just a few days, we had three beautiful little embryos, and we would wait anxiously to see if they implanted.

I heard the front door open as I pulled the hem of my shirt down over my bare stomach. I had to fight the urge to rub the tender spot, but I knew the pain would go away on its own. So instead, I walked toward the front door, eager to tell my husband all about the phone call I had with the fertility clinic. Three embryos. Three. Were we ready for that kind of commitment?
