Gruesome Battlefield

Within the depths of the forest, August finally reached the rendezvous spot, a clearing surrounded by towering ancient trees. As he landed gracefully, his eyes scanned the area, searching for the familiar figures of Claire and Diana. Moments later, they emerged from the shadows, their expressions a mix of relief and remorse.

"I am so sorry, Faction Leader," Claire said, her voice laced with genuine concern. "I was not competent enough. It took longer than expected to perform the mind rune. I didn't mean to put your life in such grave danger."

Diana nodded in agreement, her eyes filled with remorse. "And I must take responsibility too. I was too heavy-handed in restraining the Zephyr Beastling, which attracted the attention of the Zephyr Beasts you were so brilliantly distracting. It was my fault instead."
