The seer

On reaching the house, Josh parked on the other side of the street, in case they needed to escape.

The house looked like it just came out of a horror movie, due to the halloween designs, everything looked so real from the graveyard sign to the grim reaper standing on the front lawn, even the way a huge witch hat sat on the left side of the roof.

"They sure outdo themselves," Blake noted as he couldn't help but walk really close to Josh….

"Heee, hahahaha," came a creepy voice from within the house, after Josh rang the doorbell.

The sound startled Blake, "um, Jay, I take back my words I'll be waiting in the car if you need me," Blake whispered, taking the car keys from Josh's pocket, before running back to the car…..

As soon as Blake made it to the car a petite looking girl, with greenish dark hair and dark shades opened the door, "what do you want?" she sneered, not liking the fact of having visitors by this time of the day.

"Um, uh, do you…"

"Cat got your tongue love?".....

"Uh, no I um", Josh stuttered, short of words to say, he didn't want to just ask right out if they had witches and where he could get one, because of rumours and well sometimes it can also not be true but just lies spread out due to hate…

"I know this might sound weird, but where can I get a witch?" Josh asked without stuttering this time, having already steeled his mind, after coming this far, he couldn't go back with nothing and just let the cycle continue.

She quickly covered Josh's mouth like the word was a forbidden word, "wait here, i'm coming" she whispered, the warning in her eyes felt so real, the rumours were real, it wasn't a lie…..

It felt like an hour had passed before she finally came back, "uh, sorry for keeping you waiting," she said sincerely, pushing back a lock of hair behind her ears.

Josh noticed she had numerous piercings behind her ear, he had this sudden urge to call her spiky, "are done admiring my piercings?" she sarcastically asked, rolling her eyes.

"By the way my name is Stephanie, but you can call me Steph", no girl had ever been bold when it came to Josh, but this, she somehow reminded him of Jasmine when they first met.

"Josh."

"I already know who you are, you smell like trouble tho, but deep down you're someone else," Steph analysed, Josh couldn't help the blood that rushed to his cheeks which turned crimson red…..

She led him towards the back of the house, it wasn't just any ordinary backyard…. Walking through a winding path with thick branches and fig trees, they finally reached an Indian- like tent, trimmed with intricate colours of gold and purple with a grey covering.

"Pull your shoes," Steph said as she blocked Josh from entering the tent.

Josh didn't think twice about asking questions, he quickly pulled them and followed Steph into the tent… part of the tent felt like there where shadows dancing and circling around and in the shadow sat a woman with just a light blue glass ball as a source of light, the way the shadows moulded in and out of her looked so mystifying.

"Sit," came the dry cracked voice.

Josh tried to talk first but then Stephanie's grip on his shoulders were tight, he held back his words and sat down on the pin like cushion on the floor of the tent.

"Beware of a girl named Blair, she's the source of your problems, you have to kill her by 8:03pm to break the loop, anything after that and you'll be stuck in this loop forever," came the advice.

"But she died the last time I saw her," Josh hurriedly said, in a bid to get more answers from the woman.

"Beware of Blair, now leave and never look back," she shrieked, Josh quickly ran out of the tent, carrying his shoes along with him, not wanting to look back to check if Stephanie was with him….

Getting to the entrance of the house, he took a break and put on his shoes.... Taking a look at his wrist watch, the time said 7:30, he had just twenty-one minutes to 8:03 and he was running out of time….

Rushing to the car, he knocked on the windows of the door to get Blake to open the door for him.

"How'd it go?" he asked.

"Don't ever try this alone," Josh hurriedly said, stepping on the accelerator of the car with full speed, to make it back to the house and meet up with Blair before he missed his chance.
