Chapter 33

The black cloak was infamous in Genesis, and the glowing Y letter on the gas mask only added to the fear. If this terrifying figure pointed a gun at you, it meant you were in trouble.

I couldn't help but wonder why there was a guard here, as the border was already deserted. Was he capturing people leaving Genesis? Would I be punished for leaving the country, even though I had returned?

Raising my hands slowly, I let go of the blanket rope and said, "Wait." My voice broke due to nervousness.

It was very quiet, the only sounds were my ragged breathing and the dripping of blood from my wounds. They stung.

To my surprise, the soldier lowered his gun. I braced myself for a fight, but he instead rolled back his gas mask, revealing fine blue hair that slid down to his shoulders. His sharp eyes locked onto mine.

Relief flooded my body, and I staggered backward. "Gosh, Park! You surprised me."

"Miss Iota? I thought you were on your way to the headquarter with Aubin."
