Chapter 6 Blessing

  Aria's POV

I drifted far away, everywhere seemed white. It looks like everywhere was covered with clouds. The place is so calm and quiet that only the chanting of the birds could be heard.

Slowly opening my eyes, they glinted with joy as I stared everywhere in awe and surprise.

I felt a peaceful sensation overshadow me, sitting upright…

I started taking a walk around the place, but confusion kicked within me as I couldn't get to see any figure there.

It seems like I am the only one in there, looking down I was still in my old clothes.

I couldn't see any single soul and that scared me till I heard a familiar voice behind me.

"Aria, my daughter," She called.

Turning instantly, my breath got sucked into my throat.

"Mom!" I mumbled looking surprised and confused.

"Yes," a sad smile curled up her lips.

She stared at me with a painful expression and before I knew it, tears started trailing down my face.

Her eyes were watery, she suddenly looked sideways to avoid me seeing that she was hurting.

"Mom! I have missed you," I blurted out with pain and a troubled look.

Tears are still rolling from my eyes.

"I have missed you,"

"It was hard out there without you," I kept letting it all out as my heart twisted.

"They never wanted me, I was called a curse and bad-mouthed... You left me all alone to wallow in pain and anguish," I clamored with trembling lips as my tears kept sliding down.

"You left me in their hands! I was made an object of mockery in their presence!" I yelled painfully.

My heart was breaking as I stared at my mother battling to control her tears.

But so bad because some tears kept rolling down her cheeks.

"They hated my presence and wished that I would never come into existence," I sneezed.

"But the funny part is that I got interbred with my enemy, the boy that despised me most,"

I laughed bitterly when blinking back my tears though some kept rolling down.

Despite saying all this, my mother didn't spare me any glance. She is hurting, I can feel it from here.

She kept a distance away from me.

Her white gown makes her look like an angel.

She seems great and good looking like she was okay here like she wasn't suffering.

"You are at peace here but you left me to wallow in shame and self-pity!" I screeched.

"I never left you," She cut in.

"You did!" I sounded hurt.

"I have always been with you, I love you and wish that I could wipe away your tears," she swallowed with hurt in her eyes.

Her voice was cracking at every word that left her lips, to avoid shedding tears she suddenly swallowed hard and tilted her neck sideways.

"No! You didn't love me because if you did you couldn't have left me all alone out there," I shouted, my veins popping out.

"I wish that I could wipe away your tears and help you forget your past but so sad I couldn't do any of that…" She mumbled sadly.

"How! What are you talking about?" I asked, looking confused.

"I am dead, Aria, and I did the best that a mother could do by saving your life," she replied.

"I am better dead than alive," I screamed in anger.

"No, Aria, you are a blessing and deserve to be happy," she expressed.

"Blessing…" I let out a bitter laugh.

"I am not a blessing but a weak thing, that deserves nothing but death,"

"NEVER!!" My mother growled, startling me.

"You are a blessing and a better person will locate you," She voiced.

"I don't want anyone again, I just want to be with you, mom," I confessed.

Wiggling her head, she smiled sadly before staring back at me "Is not yet your time, Aria,"

Tears slide down my cheeks, there is something with the way she calls my name. It gives me a peaceful sensation.

"Please… Mom, let me be with you,"

"I miss you and if you do the same please let me in,"

Tears are blinking down from my eyelashes, my voice seems shaky with each word as my lips tremble in pain and fear of going back to that wicked world all alone.

"No! I miss you so much but I can't cut your life shut… I will live with you and promise to stand beside you all the days of your life,"

I stumbled back in fear and hurt. I can't go back there, I am afraid to face the world all alone.

"Don't do this to me, Mom!" I cried.

"I can't do anything, Aria, it is not yet your time," she said.

"I can't stay alone out there, mom! I am scared to face the world," I confessed.

She gave me a painful smile, before saying, "My dear, Aria, do not be afraid, for I am always with you... Go into the world with your head high," Her voice kept echoing throughout the whole place as she spoke.

Her words somehow calmed my racing heart but my tears can't stop flowing down my cheeks, I can't see my mother and leave her.

I have always longed for her to be with me but it seems like I was bound to stay alone in this terrifying world full of misery and suffering.

"Mom…"

"Didn't you promise Allen that you will return?" She asked.

"But, Mom…"

"Don't you want to return and show him your worth!" She cuts in.

"I want to but mom the thing is…"

"That means that you need to leave," She declared.

"Mom!" I cried.

"You still have some unfinished work to do out there," She pointed to the outside world.

"We will meet at the right time but always know that I will be beside you all time, you have my word," she promised.

"You need to go back," she announced, shutting me up.

"I love you, Aria," She said in a vigorous voice, earning silent tears from me.

"Please…" The word got stuck in my throat as she lifted her right hand toward my direction.

I felt something like lightning slip out of her hand toward me.

It was too shiny, trying to cover my eyes, I found myself back inside the same ocean.

I instantly snapped my eyes open and felt the ocean still swirling heavily around me, the waves had calmed a bit.

I gasped for air as I burst from the surface, my lungs kept screaming and yelling at me for breath. I panted heavily as I desperately wanted to swim myself out of the ocean.

Swimming almost close to the water, I felt the reflection of the sun.

It seems like the sun has come out, the brightness of the sun was too much as it blinded my view, and I flailed in the water as I struggled to swim.

And just then with my eyes closed and the water drowning me, I felt a muscular hand snake around my waist and flip me to his back when swimming us out from the ocean toward the shore.

Dropping me to the ground, I can feel his fresh breath against my face as he attempts to pull me back to life.

Flipping around and that's when I suddenly felt cold, with my eyes slowly pulled open I noticed that he was in no way to be seen again.

He has gone...
