Mago
”Hey Ash, what are thinking that deeply?” Heath asked me from his bed. And I looked at him with a smile on my face.
”Earlier today, when I bumped into Sarina I felt something. I don't know how to describe it, but a weird emotion coursed through my veins. The feeling bizarre yet familiar at the same time.” I said dreamily, and confusion was written on my face too.
”Maybe you felt your Magic reflect from her. That is what happens, right? If she is a Neutral. She can feel others' magic?”Heath asked baffled look.
”No, only the Neutral can feel the magic, not the other way round.” I said irked.
”You know what, Ash, you have never given two fleeting looks at a girl before unless you use them for other commodities. So why are you so bothered about Sarina?” Heath asked.
”But I got to tell, Sarina is smoking hot. I might just try to be friends with her.” Heath said sedately. And I don't know what came over me, but the next thing I knew, I was suffocating Heath by depriving his oxygen supply.
”A...Ash... St..stop! you are ch...choking me?” Heath wheeze and that is when I realized that I was suffocating him. I abruptly placed my hand on my lap and my breathing became heavy. What is wrong with me? I have never lost control of my magic like this before. After my breathing evened out, I looked at Heath, who was now clasping his neck.
”I am sorry man. I don't know what came over me, I just lost my control.” I said and Heath looked at me bewildered.
”That didn't look like you lost control, Ashton!” Heath said with a few stray tears on the corner of his eyes. He never called me using my name unless it was something serious.
”You looked like you would have murdered me. That look that was on your eyes looked terrifying, it would have been able to wake up the dead.” Heath tried to joke but he coughed at the end. And I felt like the worst person ever. Remorse washed over me like someone poured cold water on me.
”I am going out to get some fresh air. Meet you later.” I said and stood up from my bed. When I was about to leave the room, Heath called my name.
” It's not your fault Ash, don't blame yourself.” Heath said with scruples. And I gave him a small smile before leaving the room.
The snow has almost melted and in its place, you can start to see the lush green grass. I had been aimlessly walking around the school garden for an hour now, and my head still kept playing the angst that was on Heath's faces. While I was walking towards the forest which was part of the school my phone rang and when I checked the caller ID it was my mum. Sighing I answered the phone.
”Hey Mum, how are you? Sorry I couldn't call earlier.” I said in the best effervescent voice that I could muster. Hoping that my mum would not suspect anything.
”I am fine Ash. But sounds like you aren't ?” she asked me skeptically.
”I am fine Mum, it's just the jet lag.” I replied trying to sound convincing.
”Ashton Marco, I am not asking you again. Either you tell me now, or I will be there in that school the first thing tomorrow morning.” Mum threatened and I sighed. I can never hide anything from her, I guess. So I told her everything from what happened between Sarina and me. Till how I almost killed my cousin.
”Ashton, are you alright now?” No berating or telling me how stupid I acted. That is my mum, she always first asks me how am I feeling, before giving me a piece of her mind.
”I am as good as I can be, mum. But I think you should be asking that question from Heath and not me.” I replied. And I heard her giggle. What is wrong with her today?
”Why are you laughing mum?” I asked her.
”I just imagined Heath's face at that moment, and I just couldn't stop laughing. I think he must be thinking about changing roommates by now. Since now he has a target on his back. Oh, poor Heath, I have always told him that his mouth will get him into some serious trouble. But I never expected it to be this soon.” Mum said between her laughs and that lighten my mood a bit.
”I think you are right mum. But mum, I don't understand something, what was that strange feeling that I felt back with Sarina?” I asked her.
”You said she was a Neutral right?” Mum asked me and I hummed in reply.
”I think she is not a Neutral, and also that she is your otro medio (other half). ” mum said and I gasped in jarring.
”But mum, we will only know who our other half is after we turned 18, right?” I asked her.
”Ash, if both of you are royals, then you will find your other half before you turn eighteen. But the only confusing thing here is that she is not a royal?” mum said and I know that she is deep in her thoughts.
”Mum, you aren't a royal right. So at what age did, you meet dad?” I asked her since dad was from one of the royal family while mom was not. It was very confusing even for me. Because I never expected to have my alma gemela, who was from a royal family.
In our world, every enchantador has a soulmate who will keep them stable, so their magic doesn't go out of control. And everyone gets to find their soulmates when they turn eighteen. But it is an exception for the royals, who are the most powerful enchantadors in our society. If by chance you are paired off with another royal Enchantador then you will find your alma gemela before you turn eighteen. And the feeling between the two of you also will be ten times more intense than a normal couple. Like how I got so possessive earlier.
”I met your dad when I turned nineteen and your dad was twenty.” she replied.
”Maybe it is a different case between Sarina and me, mum. She is different, and I can feel it in my bones.” I replied with a smirk forming on my lips when I thought back to the way she reacted when Heath tried to flirt with her. She is indeed different and mine.
”I think you are right son. Anyway, I got to go. Your father just came home. Bye .” mum said.
”bye, mum.” I said before I disconnected the call.
After that call with my mum, I made up my mind I am not going to let you slip from me that easily Scar.
