THE INSINUATION

SAMANTHA'S POV

"How is the little girl you took home last day?" Leslie inquired as we walked.

I grinned a little and said, "It's nice, mom and dad are happy with her, she's comfortable, and right now, for sure, mom and Camilla are in the mall buying her clothes and everything she needs." I was thinking of Camilla's delighted expression from last night when I said that.

That little angel is lovely; she is brunette, and her eyebrows are thick and red. Her nose is also pointed, and her cheeks are fat.

"Is she going to school? You will enroll her?" Leslie immediately asked with curiosity on her face.

"Yea, of course. She should. But I want to fix her birth certificate first." I exhaustedly answered.

"D-don't tell me..." Leslie slowly says and blocks my footsteps.

"What?!" I immediately asked while raising my eyebrows, "oh yes, she will have my surname. She's already part of my family." I added and stepped out to continue walking.

"Whatever, by the way, our field trip is tomorrow. I'm excited! Are you?" Leslie asked enthusiastically as we walked into the gate.

"A little, I'm just curious about the Hacienda Santiago that Ms. Brielle said, I think I've heard about it somewhere before," I answered with the truth, and she just nods.

The time flew by quickly. Ms. Brielle's history class arrived, but she didn't lecture; instead, she advised us to get ready for our field trip tomorrow. We were dismissed right away, just like the other classes, and we made the decision to go home.

Since Leslie is reportedly departing with her boyfriend, am I now by myself, so I just decided to see granny Octavia.

"Hi grandma Octavia, how are you?" I greeted her enthusiastically, she smiled back at me.

She is grandma Octavia, she sells hair pins/clips, I always pass her here on the overpass every time I come home from school so I always say hello to her when I'm not in a hurry.

"Do you believe me? How did you feel? You've been with her, haven't you?" She asked gently while arranging her goods, as they were in good order.

I can't really understand her, she just always suddenly says or asks something, so sometimes I don't really understand her anymore and I just think it's just an effect of her old age.

"Huh? Granny? Who are you talking about?" I asked with curiosity while still looking at her.

"You. Yourself, she's coming back..." She replied with a bitter smile, "soon, Samantha, soon." She added while lightly patting the surface of my arm.

Myself? Have I ever lost myself? What's near? Aish, it's really grandma. Maybe it's really just an effect of her old age.

I tried to smile because I didn't understand her, "oh granny Via, I have to go." I said goodbye and bowed slightly and started walking away.

Who is she referring to? She said she will come back, maybe she met someone before who looked a bit like me so she mistook it for me.

I just put her out of my mind and calmly walked the road back home. It was more than an hour before I could get home because of the traffic.

"Hi, miss! Oh, sorry, my sissy." Camilla greeted me as soon as I got home. It's smiling as if it doesn't seem new, it's fun to watch. I kissed her and so did mom.

"How's your shopping with mom?" I asked with a smile while sitting slightly in front of her so that our faces were level.

"Sissy... I don't understand you," she replied in a very cute, gentle, and soft voice. Mommy and I looked at each other smiling.

"Oh, ah... I said, how was your sightseeing and shopping with mommy?" When I repeat my question in a language she can understand.

She smiled, "Ahh, it's fine, it's so much fun. She bought me a lot of clothes and toys hihi," she answered with an ear-to-ear smile as if he was still thrilled. I nodded and stood up and gently patted her hair so it would be messed up.

"Mom, how is Camilla's birth certificate that I want Atty. Laurie, to fix? What she said?" I asked mom after getting up from sitting in front of Camilla.

I had Atty. Delilah Laurier, she's one of our reliable attorneys, I let her handle the adoption paperwork for Camilla on our behalf. I want this to pass muster and be approved because I'm giving Camilla our last name in order for her to complete the Venganza family.

"It's already in process, she said. Let's just wait," mom answered with a smile, I just nodded and smiled slightly.

"Mom, I'll go to my room first," I said goodbye to mommy before turning her back and entering my room.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door of my room.

*knock knock knock*

"Miss???" Camilla gently called after knocking.

"Yes, baby?" I answered as I walked to the door of my room to open it.

"Can I come in?" She still asked gently.

"Sure, of course, baby," I answered as I opened the door.

"Sissy, your field trip is tomorrow. Are you ready?" She asked casually as she sat on my bed.

"Of course, why did you ask?" I answered and return the question.

"Hmm... it's nothing. Miss, what do you do when you see something you didn't expect?" She asked again while playing with her legs in a way that went up and down.

"Nothing? I don't know," I answered normally. She just nodded and got off my bed.

"Alright miss, goodbye. May you sleep well!" She said goodbye and slowly ran out the door.

"I said don't call me to miss anymore, we're in the 20th century!" I said with a smile while shaking my head. What happened to that girl?

I don't want to give meaning to what she says, she is still too young so it is impossible for her words to be meaningful.

I'm too paranoid about things that I shouldn't be. I just held my breath and arranged the things I will use for tomorrow's field trip.

I heard my cell phone ring. Someone texted. I immediately check it.
