Melissa is leading a normal life. Well, reasonably normal-- as normal as having one of the five most intelligent children on the planet can be. She is living out her life comfortably, at the very least.

But the letters start. Only one or two at first, but soon the postman is delivering them by the bundle; something extremely inconvenient for her. These letters, however, hold a frightening truth: Melissa is being hunted. For her abilities, after a millennia long feud, the abilities that she didn't even know she had.

Doing the only thing she can after escaping, she follows the letters instructions. And they lead her to a life she could never have imagined. Making new friends and new family, and losing some along the way, Melissa and her daughter fight for a cause that they aren't so sure that they believe in anyway.

You know that I wouldn't come to you unless I was really desperate. Riley won't listen to reason. Apparently, he blames Pierce for everyone dying, and you know how that is going to end. As much as I hated the fact that Pierce sold us out, if he wants to leave us, we need to let him. He's left Australia now and is pretty much in the wind. You're the last chance we have of stopping him. 


I tried talking to him, but he wouldn't listen. Not that he's ever been one to listen to reason. I won't lie, after Andrew's death I was pissed. Pissed enough to go after Riley. I was reckless, I was stupid, and he caught me. But he didn't kill me. Any reason why that is? 


I know that you won't be particularly willing to help. But please, get past our personal differences, and look at the greater good. Riley is going to every single country on the planet, and the trail of destruction that he will leave is going to be huge. Huge enough to warrant you paying a little visit.
