Melissa is leading a normal life. Well, reasonably normal-- as normal as having one of the five most intelligent children on the planet can be. She is living out her life comfortably, at the very least.

But the letters start. Only one or two at first, but soon the postman is delivering them by the bundle; something extremely inconvenient for her. These letters, however, hold a frightening truth: Melissa is being hunted. For her abilities, after a millennia long feud, the abilities that she didn't even know she had.

Doing the only thing she can after escaping, she follows the letters instructions. And they lead her to a life she could never have imagined. Making new friends and new family, and losing some along the way, Melissa and her daughter fight for a cause that they aren't so sure that they believe in anyway.

I don't know when you changed your mind, but even if I could get rid of Riley, it wouldn't overturn everyone's feelings for me. I could win the entire freaking war for them, and it wouldn't matter.
