Chapter 47(The Beginning of the end; Part IV: Returning home)

“It is your turn to hold the end of the bargain, Scourge,” Sprite stated seriously.

“You wasted my time. I think that counts for something,” Scourge retorted dryly. She walked toward the entrance, with Caine reluctantly following her with a small luggage containing what he deemed important for the journey under his armpit. Even after two hundred years, he wasn't ready to return home. He wasn't ready to face his family and most importantly Thorne.

“Fine, we left out some details but everything worked out in the end, did it not?” Sprite asked while tickling Nyx’s jaw. The cat purred lazily and nestled even closer in his arms. Sprite giggled heartedly like a child with a new toy. "See, even Nyx agrees,”

“I have always known you as a woman of your word….”
