Take me home

Shark's heart ached when he saw her in such a dilapidated condition. He had a difficult time breathing and so he left silently, a tear running down his cheek. His heart was full of regrets because every time she was close to him, she could suddenly get sick and he couldn't decipher why though. The last time she thew up, he felt agitated and wanted to walk away but couldn't stop himself from keeping a close eye on her. Their paths began to cross since then and for the third time, she was there standing in front of him, bleeding.

He trailed a finger up to his eyes slowly and wiped the tear when he smelt Carina's scent from a distance.

"Hey, what are you doing out here by yourself. You should have asked me to keep you company." She touched his shoulders lightly and worked down to his left hand while watching his reactions. Feeling his atheism, she stopped herself and observed him. She could not come to terms with his resentments and snubs. It was as if to him, she never ever existed.

"What happened to you my Dusk? You were never this way before, do you remember the first time we kissed?"

"It was a mistake and quit calling me that name, it's uncalled for. Things change and so do people. It was not always about you, so don't get your hopes up." He stated plainly without any emotion and walked away.

Carina screamed her guts out. She couldn't believe that after ten years her childhood friend would still be clouded by his past. He still loved Olivia even though she was long gone. She didn't stand a chance with him especially now that she was beginning to think she had eyes for someone else, someone who couldn't be his.

Back then, they were so close to each other until Olivia entered the picture. She was always jealous of her because of taking Shark away from her. Shark was hers to begin with and maybe they could have had a chance to be together if he hadn't met Olivia who he was obsessed with, that he ended his fifteen-year old friendship with Carina. Unfortunately, she died one year later leaving him shattered. She was always there to lull him to sleep waiting for him to open his eyes to the love she was offering willingly.

One time they had a shared a kiss that only lasted seconds just because he had mistakened her with Olivia. It was not the same case to Carina, she was happy that finally he was giving her a chance but to her rude shock, he went abroad to study two days after their little affair. He never bothered to say goodbye to her and that's how she became a stranger in his sight.

She put herself in place and went back to the rest of the family. Yara was fully awake and she wanted to go back home to her Grandpa. She didn't need the pity and the scary faces Blake's family were wearing. The sooner she got out of their, the better for her.

"Take me home, please." She whispered to Blake who understood what she meant.

"Dad, I'll have to take her home." Blake said.

"Is she okay?" The worried Arnold asked.

"She's fine. She needs a lot of rest, that's all."

"She can rest here too. We will arrange for the maids to be at her beck and call." Almond suggested making Vanessa snort silently.

"I'm sure her family is worried about her." Vanessa wore a smug smile. She didn't want another low life woman to make herself cosy with the Griffins.

"I'm sorry but I have to get her home. Her grandfather might be sick and worried about her." Blake helped her up and took her purse while taking her out of Shark's room.

Arnold and Michelle exchanged glances with each other, they had never seen that warm and concerned side of their son. Arnold was always worried about him especially when he was out there wasting himself instead of putting his life back on track. He was afraid that Shark would inherit everything they had worked for since they didn't have any other son. Now that he was being a gentleman for once, they were considering giving him a chance.

Meanwhile, Shark was at the rooftop smoking as he watched Blake carrying Yara to his limousine. He felt infuriated by the fact that he could never have the woman he dreamt of every night, the only woman who could make him rock hard without making an effort. Yara was the woman who had stole his heart after Olivia shattered it into pieces. He was even surprised that for the past few days he hadn't thought of Olivia nor have a hookup to warm his vast bedroom. It was a new milestone he was yet to discover.

His bodyguards had failed to trail on her the day she was discharged from the hospital and that drove him to have one of the doctors fired from the hospital. He was yet to confirm whether the two were only strictly doctor and patient related or was there something more. He was yet to find out what she was ailing from.

Blake caressed Yara's hair as she supported her head on his laps. He had never thought of being intimate with the woman on his laps because to him, their relationship was strictly business. They had once shared a kiss and nothing more than that. Yara was still pure and couldn't bring herself to tell her grandfather that the only reason why she was still with Blake was that he was easygoing and she needed money from him. She wanted to enroll in piano classes and perfect the piece of music she so longed to sing. She never cared if Blake was using her to his advantage. He needed her to convince his parents to give him the company he had long had eyes on and he was sure that Yara too had reasons of her own. She was a social climber and someone of her calibur would not let such a great opportunity slide. He rewarded her handsomely because she was great and perfect for him.

He was sure that the moment he would return home, they would be standing perhaps waiting for him and talk about his godforsaken future. He had his other plans, he wanted to be more like his cousin, rich, supercool and mix business with pleasure.
