Shark hurried up the staircase with Yara in his arms making Grasha and two other maidens gush. They were aware of Carina who their Boss resented whenever she showed up, but not him carrying a woman in his arms and to his bedroom. They chortled and went back to their chores when they had him coming downstairs. The naive maidens thought their master was craving to bed a woman, they were aware of his forbidden and crazy synergy in bed. That was every girl's dream, to be turned on by a man like Shark Griffins. They had a crush on him but wouldn't dare make a move on him since they were mere cleaners in his sight. They didn't stand a chance to even dine with him let alone stare at him on the face. They bowed their heads down whenever he was in their presence. The only person who he kinda trusted was Grasha who was like a mother to him.
Grasha saw Shark move to the fridge and rushed to help him with it.
"C'mon Grasha, I can do this on my own."
"I'm sorry but what if I get fired?" Grasha asked.
"Have I?"
"No." She mumbled.
"There's nothing to worry about just prepare hemp seeds, will you?"
"Right away." Grasha hurried to the kitchen store. Shark took out cranberries in a bowl and cleaned them before going up. The maids were astounded when they saw their Boss roaming about the kitchen, a place he rarely stepped into.
Meanwhile in Shark's bedroom, Yara opened her eyelids and whimpered in pain. Her face was burning up and she needed to apply her cream before the skin peeled off. She tried to put her legs down but they ended up touching something fluffy and soft like a kitten's fur.
"This is not my room, where am I?" She scrutinized all over the place trying to recall what had happened earlier. Her head was in pain and she couldn't seem to remember anything. At that moment, Shark walked in with a tray full of cranberries.
"You again? How did I get here?" Yara scorned and he chuckled drawing closer to her. Yara for some reasons felt stripped naked with the way he was peering at her. That's when she realized that she was in a long shirt, probably his.
"Wait, did you change my clothes? You pervert!!" She freaked out covering herself with the quilt.
"I couldn't mind if I help you with that one. You don't know how hard it was for me to change your clothes...my hands itched to touch your delicate white skin." He set the record straight and she blushed hard.
"Why am I here?" She irked her brows.
"Why were you out in the sun?"
"Are you stalking me?"
"Maybe I would die everyday without getting to see your beautiful face." He teased her.
"Maybe I should consider getting myself out of here." She immediately got off the bed but almost fell if it were not for Shark's magical hands wrapping around her waist.
"Not so fast, let's get your face cleaned." He carried her to the bathing suit and made her sit on the mirror countertop. She gasped when she saw her reflection on the mirror, her face was pink. "I need my cream. Get my purse please."
"You don't need those sun creams anymore, I recommended the best creams for you. Wait here." He walked into his dressing room and pressed the code to his drug cabinet. The cabinet opened and he shoved out two small boxes and went back to the suit.
"What are those? I don't remember my doctor recommending them for my skin."
"I know you trust Dr. Matt and that's why I have these for you. I know you're always comfortable with him and I want the best for you." He explained himself. Yara pursed her lips wondering how and why she could let someone she barely knew take care of her.
Without permission, Shark cupped her face making her gasp.
"What do you think you're doing? Why do I find myself always in your arms?" She gazed deep into his eyes, he too glanced at her, his heart aching to touch her. He wanted her to trust him because he was willing to go to any lengths to wipe her tears away. He knew how fragile she was, so delicate that every minute he was dying to tighten his grip so that she couldn't slip away.
"Stay with me," he whispered close to her earlobes. Yara closed her eyes as tears cascaded down her pink face and moistened his palms. "Do you care enough to open up to me? What it is like?"
"It's like death itself and you can't fit in my shoes to know what it feels like..."Yara who was tearing up muttered. Shark felt all disappointed, he was beyond hurt by her words. Disappointed because he felt her behavior was just an outcome of gratitude and nothing more. In his head somehow he had thought that she too had a soft spot for him and that he could possibly win her over someday. But her statements completely whitewashed all his dreams and doused his heart. He couldn't accept the fact that she didn't even consider him a good enough friend to share her stuff with him. He was irritated for over assuming and hoping against hope about the whole situation in between them.
He knew that right now they meant nothing to each other, but still, he wanted an account if everything related to her, every sneeze to every breath, like in her sickness and health. But that was probably just him being way too possessive of her.
