A cozy warm temperature welcomed the five of them as they walked into the story House. They couldn't see anybody within the house other than a door at the other end of it. Andrew Cazzen led the way as they walked towards it. Three little elves looked at themselves as they followed the man before them. They were nervous about him but just had to calm down due to the beautiful lady walking beside them.
Andrew touched and caressed the vine adorned door before he gently pushed it open.
A chilly breeze swept by.
Eradan was greeted by a vast open grassy land. He saw dim hazes of light coming from the sky that was covered with layers of grey clouds. It was like they just passed through a portal from a bustling town to a Serene environment just though a door within a story House.
Yayy!!
Two elven kids darted forward as if they had spotted something. Blue eyes watched them until they finally stopped in somewhere. They were individuals sitting on the grassy floor while another was sitting on a higher podium. He saw those two little elves join the rest and sit down.
He shifted his gaze to his side and saw the last and the youngest one staring beadly at him.
"Aren't you going?" Eradan demonstrated with his head but the little kid didn't answer rather he continued staring at him.
"He wants you to follow him," Cazzen chipped in.
Eradan blinked. He wasn't usually the story listening type rather, he preferred reading them. Story telling were for kids not adults.
Ok... He breathed in defeat...
He wrapped his Slender fingers around the little elf's wrist and led the way... Cazzen followed up.
Just like others did, they sat down Immediately they reached there. As usual, he was again welcomed with glares from some individuals that sat there.
Sighs...
Eradan focused his attention on the old Elven man who sat on the higher podium. His long grey beards and hairs complemented his silver eyes that looked blind.
"E guess we are up to forty now... are we?" The Elven man asked and majority answered with a yes. "Okay then our story begins"
"Since today marks our Launa Festival, E'll like to tell us all the tale of Launa the Elven Moon." Eradan and Andrew suddenly made eye contact then focused on the Elven's narrative as he continued.
"E'm aware that most of us elfs are familiar with the tale of our great Launa; but for the sake of foreign individuals, E would like to retell this tale." For some unknown reason, Eradan was beginning to get intrigued with the story despite not having started. He was totally oblivion of the frequent peeks Cazzen sent at him.
Silence hovered above this spot as eyes watched this Elven man while ears listened with rapt attention— Eradan wasn't left out.
"And our story begins..."
Thousands of years ago, when kingdoms had not known each other existed until the first and most bloodiest war happened.
Before this, During this time, the Elven world had been divided into four clan. The light elves, the forest elves, the shadow elves and lastly the water elves.
The light elven clan were in serious banter with the shadow elfs; with the cause that 'the amulet of chaos and order was only within the abode of The light elf's. This artifact was given to them by the Elven goddess... Velen. It was known as a judgement artifact of the Elven kingdom. It could tell when one was lying or saying the truth but it could also misjudge if corrupted with bad divinity. It was a source of immense power at that era as it could make unstoppable.
Although the shadow elfs were correct with their dispute, but they were the most feared and dangerous elfs in the Elven world. They were sinisterly and mischievous.
During this dispute, the water elfs were in support of the light elfs but they couldn't assist them since they could only survive in water and not on land. The forest elves were ever scared and cheeky that they backed out of the matter.
Back in the light elven clan, A loud ululation sounded as their Clans head welcomed a new born child into the world. The cheering of every members of that clan was deafening. However, it was cut short on the hearing that his wife had died after giving birth to his child. With sadness and grief they buried the body of his wife.
Few days later, he named his child Launa that was after his wife visited him in his dream and told him to name their daughter "Launa"
During launa's childhood, a maid had been brought into their palace to take care of her after her mother had passed away. The maid 'Feila' had been Soo good to Launa that Launa had gotten fond of her as her mother. Chatting, playing and sometimes singing with her.
Launa had always wanted to learn to fight but due to the tradition of her clan she couldn't. Rather, she was told to learn how to sing, dance and act like a dainty lady; and that she respectfully did.
As time went on, Launa began to notice her personal maid act differently. She was now constantly sleeping in the day time while she roamed around at night. Launa had once asked her what the problem was but she answered saying that she usually monitored around in case of sudden attack or anytime she wasn't feeling sleepy.
Concurrently, the Light Elven clan had began to sense something from the shadow elfs. They were no longer prying about the amulet of chaos and order. They had suddenly become quiet and inactive.
One day, a bright and beautiful day at that. Which was a week after launa's 18th birthday. Her personal maid suddenly disappeared and nobody knew the cause of her disappearance. Launa and her father were really worried about her disappearance as they had already gotten used to her.
The clan mobilized a few of their members to search for their missing one and they set out for their search. During all this occurrences, they were so ignorant of the Amulet of chaos and order which had also gone missing after the maid's disappearance.
Few days had passed and they returned back with no positive result. On the night after the fifth day, launa's father decided to check on the amulet just to find out that it was missing. He immediately summoned the whole clan, asking each and every one of them about the loss of their amulet... But no one was able to provide a suitable answer towards the amulet disappearance.
Almost immediately, they began to hear rustles and footsteps. People were coming towards their clan! A light elf was sent to check on who they were, just to find out that it was the shadow elfs coming for an attack.
They Immediately braced themselves on what was to happen. They prepared themselves although they knew that they had zero chance of winning. It was already night and dark and that was their weakness.
The shadow elfs finally arrived, each holding a log of fire. Wait? They weren't alone! They came with creatures that looked as black as the night. Glowing red eyes and sharp glistening claws. They were hideous humanoid creatures!
Amongst the men of the shadow Elvens... Was Luna's maid! She was no longer that cowardly and ever obeying maid. The once caring aspect of her had dissipated leaving a vessel of hatred and arrogance. After a few exchange of words between those clan,
The war started...
Woods and metals chimed as they made contact with each other. Huts and trees were set ablaze. Launa was taken to a place of safety. From where she was, she could see her clan being defeated by the shadow clan and those creatures.
Thunderous sounds tore the arena as the ground opened up. The water elfs came out from beneath shooting their sea snake poisoned arrows. Forest elves also emerged out from their niche and joined to fight against the light and water elves. They were brainwashed by the shadows elves.
Unfortunately for them, This tense battle was now between the light and water elves against the Forest elves, the shadow elves and those creatures. It was a lose war.
Launa was furious as she beheld her clan and the water clan lose to their opponent. Wails and cries welcomed her ears.
During the long run of the war, the shadow elfs were almost clinging to victory until something strange happened. All of a sudden, those creatures diverted their attention and began to attack the Elven clan as a whole. As malevolent as they were, they were really smart.
They had trickily stolen the amulet from the grips of the shadow clan and attacked all the Elven clans. They became more vicious and powerful that they mercilessly slaughtered the Elven clan; splattering blood everywhere.
Launa from her hidden location could see all that was happening. She thought hard for a way to aid her specie but nothing came into her mind. But suddenly she remembered a spell. A spell only done by the first child of an Elven clans head. But, in exchange for their soul.
Without further ado, Launa chanted the spell. She was said to become possessed by the all powerful Elven goddess... Velen.
Her eyes glittering in a flashy glow of white. Strands of hair fluttering like birds in the sky. She floated very high and approached the war scene. Every single elf within that place had spotted and understood what she did.
She performed a forbidden spell that was going devour her soul...
Out of nowhere, the once gloomy dark sky was shining brilliantly at the presence of the moon. Dark clouds were chased away.
Launa stretched forth her hand and the amulet within the hold of those creatures came to her. With braving force, she threw the amulet into Oblivion; where no eyes were able to behold it.
Light elfs became more powerful than before at the presence of the Moon's rays and began to best with those creatures. Other Elven clans followed their steps and with that, they slayed those creatures although a few of them had escaped.
The war was now over and because of Launa's bravery and support they all United to one Elven kingdom. There was no longer the forest Elven, the light Elven, the water Elven and the shadow Elven. They had all become one and lost most of their abilities except a few.
Launa alighted from the sky into her father's embrace. His embrace of grief and tears that he going to be one remaining in his household. His wife and daughter... Gone.
Having a one last discussion, Launa flew up to the moon and vanished; leaving her father in immense heartbreak. Hence, Launa was recognized as the Elven moon throughout the Elven world.
Her tale would always be told time after time... The end.
Hey!
Eradan felt slight tug on his shoulder. He looked at Cazzen who tilted his head at him.
"Let's go, the story's over." Cazzen shrugged him to get on his feet.
★★★★★★
Two figures walked along the cobbled road of this white covered town. It was already night time and the moon was out and glittering. The houses of this place were all decorated with white clothings in celebration for their festival. It was really a breathtaking sight.
Those little elfs that they came with had retired somewhere else after receiving all the gifts that were initially for Eradan. It was now him and Cazzen walking within this bustling road. The youth couldn't stop thinking about the story he had heard. It was indeed touching. Come to think of it, they had spent a whole lot of time in that story House.
Besides him, this Amber haired youth could help but wonder what was going on within this beautiful man beside. His charms were Soo unavoidable.
"What's wrong?" Cazzen asked.
Pressing his lips together, Eradan answered " Nothing much, that story really caught me off guard."
Andrew let out a heartily laughter, his amber eyes gleaming with surprise "it's just a story... haha"
Suddenly, Andrew saw blue eyes obliquely glance at him. For some reason, he felt something wierd coming up.
"Fine!.. I guess you see me as a man right?" The beautiful youth beside him asked, his ears quite pink. Now was the best time to ask this dude questions. Cause he was surprised at how he didn't react to his features at the beginning. Besides, he'll have to ask about the changing cloth part.
On the other hand, Andrew's eyes brightened... Aha! He was correct, this youth was something else. Wait? He suddenly shuddered. Who knew the next question that would follow up?!
"And, Ahem! who changed my outfit?" The youth beside him broke out.
Eyebrows cocked, lips curled, Andrew grinned internally. It was perhaps... Inevitable.
Erm...
He gave a contemplating look, blinked, and wanted to the answer the questions when suddenly something erupted.
A loud growl... Followed by screams.
LAUNA
For some reasons, I kinda find Andrew and Eradan cute. Too bad they aren't going to be together 😭
