An Ice Wielder!

Under the starry night, within a possibly attacked shop, three figures tried to find a way out of their situation. Clicking sounds came closer, while a few of those creatures were already nearby gnawing at the walls of that shop.

Andrew grabbed Eradan who also held the little Elven beside him and broke into a run. They ran as fast as they could, not minding the booby traps that could be within that shop.

"This way!" Andrew took a quick turn and began to climb a wooden staircase; Eradan and the little Elven did the same.

"Duck!!" Andrew shouted and they all evaded padded fists that were suddenly sent at them through the staircase.

At the end of the step, they were about to take another turn to continue when a crash came from the ceiling metres above them. One of those green creatures broke in through the roof, it's black eyes now glaring at them. Wide jaws opens then shuts, revealing sharp dentitions while the beast growls. Screeching sounds erupts as it's clawed feets drags it closer to the trio's.

"Stay close," Andrew said as he wrapped the two behind him, using his own body as a protection. They all took a few steps backwards.

BOOM!

The three of them were startled at the noise that came from downstairs. Without telling, they knew that those creatures had badged into the house. The screeching sounds they made signified that they were coming upwards.

All three of them were in a state of dilemma, not knowing what to do. Huffing one last breath, Andrew looked at the beast before him and stood his ground. He was going to sacrifice himself for this two individuals behind him.

RARRGH!!!

Eradan looked to his left and spotted those creatures now climbing the stairs close to his side. The youth and the others had all given up, that was going to be the last day in their lives.

Suddenly, the Vasperi before Andrew darted itself towards him, Ready to feast on his meat.

As it was on the run, Eradan who was about to witness what would happen gritted his teeth. He wasn't going to let this creature feed on Andrew. Rather, on him. He was the sole cause of what was clearly happening and he was going make things right. Even though they were all eventually going die, he'll do the honour of dying first!

The youth swiftly grabbed Andrew by the wrist and switched position with him; swooshing him to his side. At this point, the Vasperi was right in front of him, ready to maul on his delicate flesh.

"Noooo!!" That was the voice of Andrew who was taken unaware by the youth's antics. He watched as the creature inched closer to the youth in slow motion that he couldn't help but shut his eyes. What had he done!?

Eradan on the other hand who anticipated what would happen next, had shut his blue glimmering eyes from the start.

A wave of thought ran through his mind.

Even though this was going be his last time in this world, at least he sacrificed his life for someone. Although he hadn't stayed much in this world, but the few adventures he'd had were definitely one that'll remain fresh in his memory. It was something worth doing!

Eradan...

A voice suddenly called within his head.

Search within yourself and you'll find your true ability...

You're an ability wielder....

Eyes closed, body quavering and anticipating a sharp bite pierce through it. Torrents of energy suddenly flows through him. His hands jerked and crossed themselves right in front of him. Eradan could feel the heat of the creature few inches away from him.

Out of the blues, a wave of immense energy spread throughout that vicinity. The chills and sharpness it moved with were unimaginable. It's blue nature exceedingly stunning.

Cold...

A biting and spine chilling frostiness had taken over. Yet, the blonde haired youth couldn't feel anything. This strange phenomenon came from him.

After a moment of silence, the breathing out of individuals behind the Eradan hurled him out of his daze. As black lashes fluttered open, brilliant blue eyes were welcomed with a snowflake which fell on the youth's nose and melted; blending into his skin. Infact, snowflakes like glittering stars rained over that place.

"Whoa!" The youth jerked backwards at the second monument that welcomed him. A creature, encased in a manner of pure chrystallized ice. A flash of confusion came by,

What happened...?

A feeling of indifference flickered through him. Was he the one that just did this?

"Haah," Deep exhales from Andrew behind him, grabbed his attention and he turned.

Andrew's amber eyes met alluring blue ones that he couldn't help but grin; A corner of his lips curled up. Right from his childhood, nobody had ever volunteered to sacrifice nor do anything for him. He had never been loved or cared for, just like the little Elven beside him. Throughout his life, he had been the one doing all the carings and loving, not getting anything in return. Yet, who knew that the stranger who he had saved a few days ago would actually sacrifice himself to protect him? What he'd never anticipated? The feeling felt surreal that his grin became brighter.

"What's amusing?" A confused youth before him tilts his head to the side and blinks; pecks of snowflakes falling of his hair.

"Nothing," Andrew calmly replied, his ears blushing red, unnoticed. "Thanks for the sudden protection.... Although it was really risky haha."

" Err... You're welcome" Eradan smiled back then shifted his gaze to the little Elven beside Andrew and bent down.

"Hope you're alright little guy?" Slender fingers stroked the little boy before him.

The boy nodded, his hair releasing a few snowflakes...

Eradan noticed the little boy exhale mist that he mildly carried him. A glint of confusion made him wonder why he wasn't feeling cold like the rest? The atmosphere seemed really cozy to him. He shrugged off the thought and handed the little Elven to Andrew.

"You should wrap your arms around him, it would make him feel warm." He said.

Eradan shifted his gaze to his immediate environment to adore the brutal beauty of his work. Sheets of blinking chrystallized ice layed all over the ground beneath them spreading far and wide. The moonlight adding to the effect and making it glitter more.

Sharp pointy chrystalline staglamites emerged at some point, each of them piercing through those creatures. Eradan almost barfed as he saw his handwork being besmeared with green Goos from those creatures. Their internal organs decorating the staglamites that pierced through them. It was really nauseating!

The youth took a few an bland steps, crossing Andrew, to get a better view of the one's on the step below them. He noticed something. While a few of them were cruelly stabbed with his staglamites, some of them were encased by it; just like the one he first saw.

Eradan was really happy with his current revelation. He wanted to jump up in joy like a child. The thought of him being an ability wielder and to be precise, an ice wielder, made him feel like a grand master of ice.

However, before he could celebrate more, a loud growl sounded and his celebration was short-lived. Why was this world Soo cruel? Always following up good stuffs with bad ones!

Pink lips parted in a sigh as Eradan's brows furrowed. The source of the unwelcoming and unpleasant sound was coming from outside. He should've recollected that he hadn't maimed all of them. He would have to postpone his jubilation since they're more beasts to kill.

"Guess they're more of them waiting for us outside" Andrew said, stroking the Elven boy in his hold. "What should we do?" He displayed, a worried expression.

"I'll try with my ability, " Stern determination etched this feminine looking face of Eradan. His gaze shifted to the location of the vasperi that attacked them and he came towards it.

He touched it, smiled, and followed the stairs behind it. Andrew couldn't understand what was going on within the head of the other. He adjusted the little Elven boy who was already sleeping on him due to fatigue and followed Eradan's steps.

They all climbed up the remaining stairs until they had gotten to the final one, which was close to the broken roof. Chiming sweet sounds echoed as Eradan's footsteps made their way to a piece of wall connected to the broken roof.

Once he arrived, he placed a hand on the wall. Ice expelling from his palm thawed their way into the wall; freezing it and making it weaker. Eradan wanted to shatter the wall so he could get a better view of what was happening outside.

Andrew on the other hand now realized what Eradan wanted to do, he just stood there and watched the other completely freeze the wall before unhurriedly pushing it down. The shattering of the wall as it came in contact with the cobbled floor was unheard.

Andrew dragged his feets to where Eradan was and stood beside him. Cool night breeze came by, swirling both of their hairs in symphony to its movement. This town from that view became calmer than usual, an eeriely feeling lurking around. Lucky individuals kept calm, not wanting to implicate themselves yet here they are, surrounded by those creatures.

" My ability seems to be their fear," Eradan spoke first, his face looking downwards, his eyes scouting around. Despite the fact that they were surrounded by those creatures, none of them seemed to attack because their building was unanticipatedly surrounded by ice... His Ice! They just growled and continously clicking their feets against the floor. To be honest, Eradan was getting pissed of with those clicking sounds they made.

"I guess so..." Andrew replied, his face doing the same. He was really stunned with this note, Vasperies were afraid of ice! He never knew about that. All he knew was that they could be killed with daggers plunging into two of their hearts as they had two hearts. "You could finish them off now. Just two stakes of ice into their double hearts would do the trick." He added, turning to the alluring individual beside him.

For a moment, Andrew's soul melted. What was wrong with him? The more he looked at this individual, the more he felt himself wanting to be closer to him. What he had done earlier was deeply implanted in his memories and would obviously Bloom into a tree. He wanted him.... Shun those thoughts he's just a friendly stranger, he mentally scolded himself then faced forward.

Eradan lined his lips and hummed in approval of the information. He was about to turn and head downstairs when he saw a light, spark out of nowhere. Pausing, he turned and looked at the cause of the sudden spark. Right above those vasperies, hunged the spark. But looking clearer, Eradan noticed that it wasn't an ordinary spark. It was like electric currents in a circular shape which seemed to be expanding.

Andrew, However, knew what it was... The Emeleans had arrived! He watched the little electric circle expand into a human sizeable one, vasperies retreating from the ring of electric and most importantly, the look of surprise on the Eradan's face.

"Is that a portal?" Eradan couldn't contain his excitement that he had to ask.

"Yes." Andrew answered.

Eradan was fascinated but it went beyond that when he saw certain Individuals in particular dress codes hop out of the portal and swiftly, reducing the numbers of those beasts; their movements calm. To further it more, this youth couldn't just stop admiring the sets of abilities he spotted. The air wielders, water wielders, teleporters, skilled fighters and so on. He was just amazed!

Within minutes, the whole mess was cleared with the cobbled roads now covered with green goos. Every member of that town came out of their hideouts, casting looks at theirselves and relatives embracing each other.

The once eerie town was now lively and bustling as people began to get over the hideous event that had originally occurred, although it wasn't for all. Those who's relatives couldn't make it mourned for their loss. However, The Launa festival moved on. But this time, the whites were stained with red and green colours.

The ambience of happiness was back, but with patches of sorrow. Yes! The dead couldn't be forgotten.

The moonlight brightened signifying that daytime was approaching.

Eradan watched those individuals retreat back into the portal which vanished like it never appeared.

"The End" Eradan heard and turned, meeting the funny face of Andrew. "Isn't it?" The other added, his composure really amusing.

Eradan chuckled" Yeah. It is. Now if you don't mind, I have a teeny business with the little boy in your embrace"

" Don't bother, he's asleep."

" Really?"

"Yeah."

Eradan huffed " This was one dreary night and a warm bath would definitely be the best solution,"

" Aiii... know a place you could get that." Andrew chipped in, an eyebrow raised.

Eradan straightened up " Thank goodness... Let's go then."...
