School Life

Being the daughter of the most dangerous mafia boss doesn't mean school will be left out.

I always became a happy bird everytime my legs left this place called home, well at least school is the only place I could breathe in fresh air.

The driver stopped by the school gate with a worried face. "Miss, please don't do anything that would trigger your father's anger and be careful" he warned.

"Thanks for the advice, I'll try" I replied with a little honesty, then closed the car door.

School always has been fun for me, the clubs, friends, 'crush', etc. It was like a whole new dimension.

Holding my bag tightly, I raced into the pretty expensive school.

"Mia" a feminine voice called from behind before I took another step.

Looking back I saw Janice, my only best friend, and the only person in the entire school and city that knew your father is a Mafia boss.

"Janice, Good morning" I greeted as she came closer.

"Morning Mia, Whoa! you don't look too good, are you sick?" she asked, noticing the pale color which decorated my face.

"Just caught a mild cold, nothing more" I said actually feeling down and also annoyed for not escaping.

"Then why not stay at home?"

"It's better for me to stay in the Sahara desert than to stay at home with that man" My voice Immediately came out but in a low tone, knowing she was referring to your father. But nevertheless, staying at home would have been better all together.

"Well if you say so, My advice would have been better. Anyways we have an english test today." she reminded me with a slight smile

"Well, It's better than math," looking at my wristwatch to check the time, I immediately broke our conversation, "Enough chit chatting for now and let's go to class."

"Okay okay I get it."

________

Today's Class was boring because of the damn test and also with my mind calculating how I would escape.

"It's now or never" I mumbled the words with different plans coming to my head.

"Pens up!" The voice of the teacher woke me from a trance. Unfortunately, there was just a single question left but before any attempt in writing, the teacher took my paper and I knew it was the end.

"I'll give you all these whatsoever paper and the scores before closing, now class dismissed".

The entire class erupted into a loud cry of happiness. However, mine was in sadness.

"Janice, I'm doomed for life" you told her with a scared voice. "Let's head to the cafeteria, and what makes you say so?" She was confused by my behavior.

"I didn't finish my work..... Janice, I'll fail, I'll score a B or C or maybe a D!" My eyes were filled with dark circles.

"Don't worry you won't, even if you will the probability of your father seeing it is approximately one percent don't worry Mia" she assured me making my soul feel less tensed up.

But however I was sure an A wouldn't be my grade.

____

As the day passed by, so did sports, classes, recreational activities, .... and at the end it was almost closing. Everyone was eager to see their scores.

The class became pin silent for the first time in five years when the teacher called the name of each student to hand out their scores..

"Lynn!"

The girl bearing the name stood up, took her script and smiled happily

"I got a C! Daddy's gonna make me the happiest girl in the world" the words she said made me blink and cleaned my ears to make sure I didn't hear something unreal.

"If I ever get that grade, my father will buy an incinerator so he can put me in." you spoke inwardly.

"Mia"

it became my turn, I stood up, took it and was scared to take a peek.

"Just look at it!" A boy sitting close to where I stood exclaimed.

Gathering every courage and taking a peep, the grade I saw made my soul got packing to another destination

"I got a B!" The smell of doom was already rounding me.

Then, the sound of the bell ringing for closing woke me up again from another trance.

As I walked away from the class, Janice tried to calm me down. Throughout the hall, the walkway, before getting outside but none seemed to be working.

"Thanks Janice for trying, but at least it would be my father picking me from school" I said convincing myself.

"... Mia..." She wanted to say more but my ride came almost immediately.

"Gonna go home now," I told her, clutching the paper tightly.

"Okay, see you tomorrow, take care and try not to die" after waving goodbye, I held the paper despite my instincts warnings to keep it in the bag.

Walking towards the car, I jumped in, tired and unprepared for anything.

"How was school?" A voice thick and familiar asked.

"Father!" I exclaimed in shock seeing him in the car.

"How was your test?" The question slapped my face hard and red, "I want to see the score... Hand it over Dear."

"How did you know I would be having a test today?" I asked rather trembling than scared.

"I have my means" with that!." he took the paper which I held with assumption of it being the test score

Immediately within seconds, his eyes twitched at the grade, then he thundered.

"WHAT!!!"

The driver and I flinched at his angry tone

".... B!!!."
