Chapter 39

GABRIELA

Luckily for me, it seems at the moment the twins wouldn't be bothering me. As soon as Alex arrived, we kissed and the three of us stayed waiting for Sara and Clara who didn't take much longer for them to arrive.

"Hi guys. Are you still half deaf?" Sara asked "No, I almost hear everything I heard before." I said, "That makes me happy." They continued talking while I was distracted looking at Clara, she looked different. I could see how she's looking at Marcos with a different look, she's trying to figure out something and I didn't discover it until I saw a sparkle in her eyes. Everything fell into place at that moment and I'm happy to discover the truth, CLARA ALSO FELT SOMETHING FOR MARCOS!!!!

"Holy shit…" I whispered, which made Alex turn in my direction, frowning. "What's wrong, my love?" He asked "What? Oh, nothing." I assured him, and he raised his eyebrow slightly. "Are you sure?" he asked "Sure."

The four of them looked at me strangely for a few seconds until the bell rang and we left for class. Before entering class, I noticed Paula talking to some guys, which didn't seem weird to me, but I felt how Alex tensed up.

While in class, I had a bad feeling, something is going to happen and I have no idea what could happen, the only thing I know for sure is it had to do with Paula. Right now, I'm in the last class before break and luckily for me it's drawing. That would help me focus and try to understand the feeling so I started listening to music.

"Hey Gabriela, class is over." said one of my companions, "Thank you, but I'll stay a couple of minutes to finish it." I responded "As you wish." The boy left class and I stayed drawing until arms I would recognize anywhere, hug me from behind.

"Hey beautiful, class is over." Alex reminded me, placing a kiss on my temple. "Yes, I know." I stated, "So you don't want to go out and get some air?" He asked "It's not that, I just wanted to finish the drawing." I responded "Then I'll let you finish it." Alex moved away and leaned against a wall and it doesn't take long for Marcos and the rest to arrive, but it's Marcos who realizes something is on my mind, he knows me better than anyone.

"What is it that makes you think so much Gabriela?" He asked, getting closer to me and whispering so the rest wouldn't hear, "Nothing, why?" I asked, acting like nothing happens. "Guys, can you go out for a moment, I have to talk to Gabriela alone."

Everyone started to leave and Alex didn't leave without first giving me a kiss which I'm delighted to accept, but then I went back to the drawing "Are you going to tell me what is bothering you, Gabriela?" He asked again, "Why do you say there's something bothering me?" I questioned, "You usually don't listen to music that loud when you're not thinking about anything other than drawing."

"Ok, but you're not going to tell anyone." I finally said "I won't." confirmed "I have a bad feeling Marcos, and Paula is involved in this." I responded and he rolled his eyes "Please, don't start. I already told you that time she wasn't going to be able to separate you, Gabriela, she won't be able to do anything."

"It's just not that." I denied "Oh, no?" He asked surprised. "No, and I don't know if it's worse or not." I admitted, "First of all, calm down, nothing is going to happen, neither to you, nor to anyone. Don't worry." He insisted "You said that same thing last time and look how we ended up, with Paula at the college, threatening to separate me and Alex."

"Well, you may have been right at the time, but it won't always be that way. Believe me for once when I tell you nothing is going to happen, seriously." He asked, "I'm exaggerating, right?" I asked, taking a deep breath. "A little, but it's normal. That girl hurt you too much, being somewhat afraid of her is understandable."

"Make no mistake because I'm not afraid of him, it just gets on my nerves because I know he's capable of doing anything to hurt me and separate me from Alex, he's already proven it once." I said "I know, but we won't allow anything to happen to you, you said it yourself, Carlos would come to help you without hesitation."

"I know, but you're right." I sighed "I'm sure, but let's go, you have a surprise." He said excitedly, and now it's my turn to frown. "What surprise?" I asked "You'll see when you get down, I'm sure you'll love it." He smiled "You know I don't like surprises Marcos, tell me."

"I'm sorry, but I promised." He said, raising his hands in the air. "Ok, then I won't tell you what I discovered today about Clara." That made him stop dead and turn to look at my face, I guess trying to see if what I said is true or not. "Don't look at me with that face, because I have discovered something, but if you insist on not believing me, that's up to you." I replied, shrugging my shoulders. "For once, I'm not going to believe you, you know it's my weak point."

"Of course, I know, but I would never lie to you. Now, if you don't want to believe me, I accomplished my mission by letting you know I discovered something about her." I informed "Let's go before Alex gets tired of waiting and thinks you're really not ok." He said "If that happens it will be your fault, just know that."

"I know, but if that happens, I will take care of telling him nothing is wrong with you." He stated "As if he were going to believe you. Once you leave that doubt in his mind, there's no one who can get it out of his head." I informed him "Well, but by trying we don't lose anything." My best friend responded with a shrug of his shoulders. "Yes, but I'm telling you it won't matter."

"You can start picking up if you want to give us time to go see the surprise." He said, rolling his eyes, "I wasn't kidding when I said I wanted to finish the drawing, you can go ahead." I commented, "I don't think Alex is going to do it, but I'll tell him." He responded, nodding, "It's doesn't matter."

"As you wish, we'll wait for you in the same place as always," he informed and I nodded. When he left the class, it didn't take long for Alex to come in and lean on the same spot he had been a couple of minutes ago. "Are you sure you're ok, beautiful?" He asked, with a worried tone. "Of course, don't worry."

"So what did Marcos want to talk about?" He asked, "According to him, I seemed stressed, which is not true, I must clarify, and well, I told him I had discovered something about Clara that I'm sure he would like to know, but he thinks it's a lie that I told him because there's a surprise for me."

"What surprise?" He asked, frowning, which made it more than clear to me he also had no idea what the surprise is. "That's what I would like to know, since I like surprises. But you can go downstairs, it might take a while."

"It's not necessary, I don't think I'm going to get bored with the company I have." He said with a big smile on his face "As you wish then." It didn't take me much longer to finish the drawing and we headed down. We went to where Marcos had told me. Before getting there, I noticed the girl who had her back turned, which I didn't understand what she's doing here. I don't know when I accelerated my pace until I'm behind her.

"You didn't have class and decided to come here?" I asked, confused and not understanding what she's doing here. Everyone looked at me and Alex, the latter with a smile on her face. "Of course, I have class, that's why I'm here." Carla reported "What are you talking about?" I asked, even more confused. "That now I study at this college."

"Oh really? But how? If you didn't come because there wasn't anything you wanted to study for? I questioned and she nodded "I know, I know, but now there is, and I'm coming. I'm not going to miss my last year with my two little siblings, don't you think?"

"You are a month older than me and four months old than Gabriela four." Marcos protested, rolling his eyes, "Well, that's why the little siblings thing. Besides, you didn't think I'm going to be left behind at Paula's, right? I come to support you and whatever needs to be done." She stated, "Not you too, Carlota." Marcos begged "What now?"

"My brother now comes to Gabriela to do whatever she wants, it's not necessary for you to join too." He said and she denied "I'm going to do it, it's the least I can do. "I'm not going to let what happened last time happen again." He insisted "And with that I'm so much with your brother and Carlota, I also plan to support Gabriela in whatever is necessary, she's a bitch who's provoking her, but whatever Gabriela decides to do, I plan to do it."

"Thank you for your support and all, but I'm not going to do anything, at the moment of course. As long as you don't get involved in what you shouldn't, everything will be fine." I assured, because that's the intention, "Beautiful, she's not going to do anything to you, I won't let her." Alex pointed out, and I nodded, because I know that. "And I know, really, but there are things you won't be able to get involved in, for example, if it's something related to my family, that's something only me will resolve, no one else."

"But if she messes with you, she messes with me." He answered, "I know, but I'm telling you seriously that only concerns me, no one else. Not even Marcos and Carlota will get involved in this, I won't allow it to anyone." Just at that moment someone hits me with the backpack, and I thought it's my sister until when I turned around, I saw Paula who had a big smile, a bad sign, she wanted to do something and I'm sure it wasn't good.

"Well, look who we have here. I didn't know you needed more people to defend you Gabriela, I thought you weren't afraid of me. This image proves the opposite." He laughed, and I rolled my eyes. "I don't need anyone to defend me, much less from vipers like you." I sincerely said "What did you call me?"

"What you heard, I'm sure you heard it wonderfully. I think I should say you're the one who's afraid of someone, because you have this whole entourage of people behind you in the days you have been here." I reported "We're her friends."

"And they are mine. Just because I'm with people doesn't mean I use them to defend myself. I don't use others for anything, much less to defend myself. You should pay close attention to that person you call a friend, she's one of those who say a lot, but do little." I informed the people behind her, because if I had learned anything, it's that when she doesn't need you, she stabs you in the back.

"Do you really think that about me? I think you have a bad image of me, Gabriela, or it could be jealousy Alex was mine at some point." She tried to provoke "I was never yours stupid, understand that. I never loved you, I only loved Gabriela." Alex quickly stated, "Leave it Alex, I don't care what she says, that already happened. What counts is now we're together and we're happy."

"How long your happiness lasts, at least yours Gabriela. Say hello to your sister for me." She asked, "Leave my family alone. They have nothing to do with this problem between you and me."

"I don't deny it, but it's war, and in wars, innocent people also fall." With that, she left and I'm upset. What she had said wasn't funny at all, and the feeling I had been having all morning increased. "Gabriela, don't worry about what that girl said, nothing is going to happen, much less to your siblings, I can assure you."

I didn't say anything, at this moment I'm better silent than talking, and I know that worried everyone, but at this damn moment, nothing matters. While they were still talking about what had just happened, I received a message from Kate, a friend of my sister, and as soon as I read it, I didn't hesitate for a single second to go look for them because apparently Mario is also involved in this, and for nothing in the world I would let anything happen to my siblings, first they would have to walk over my corpse.
