Chapter 59

CARLOTA

It's five in the afternoon, so I'm more than sure Ana will wake up soon and that, will be the moment we start classes for her siblings. I could see she's happy, and no wonder, at the moment everything is going well with Alex and her family, and I know that made her happy, another issue would be when her father had him in front of her, I don't think she would be accept it in the same way as the rest and I have no idea if the rest of his family knew it, because I don't think they take it too well either, much less her cousin Kevin, of all the cousins he's the most attached to her.

At that moment, I realize Gabriela didn't speak for a long time, so I look at her and I can see the hand she had taken away from Ana's back is trembling slightly, but soon she puts it back on the girl and leaves her head on the little girl shoulder.

I turned to see if the others noticed, but it seems that only Marcos and I noticed that we began to worry about her, when her hand shook it's usually a sign of an anxiety attack.

"Alex, can you hold Ana for a while?" Gabriela asked her boyfriend calmly. "Of course." He said delightedly, "Where are you going?" I asked curiously "I'm going to change; I'll be down in a bit."

She leaves the dining room and Marcos and I don't hesitate to follow her, we had to prevent her from having an anxiety attack, we know how much she hates her family worrying about her. As weird as it may seem, they don't say anything to us as soon as we follow Gabriela, but they do look at us weirdly, they know very well when we go after Gabriela without her telling us anything it's because something is happening. Before we have time to get to the room Gabriela closes the door, but we don't hesitate to open it and when we see her walking from one side to the other in the room, she's more anxious than a moment ago.

"Gabriela, what's happening now?" I asked, approaching her. "I know what she meant Carlota… it all makes sense now… I'm stupid for not realizing it before." Our best friend said on the verge of hysteria "What are you talking about?" Marcos asked, but at this moment I don't have time to answer his questions, we needed to calm Gabriela down before she had an anxiety attack.

"Listen to me Gabriela, first of all, relax, we don't want it to happen again." I said, stopping her in her tracks. "I'm stupid, Carlota… I should have realized it sooner." She insisted "You're not, calm down if you don't want me to tell the others, I don't think Alex will be very happy about it."

"It's just…" she started, but I denied "It's just nothing Gabriela, relax and we'll talk later." I asked, "I just can't relax, Carlota! Now less than ever I should relax. I couldn't let anything happen to any of you, I wouldn't forgive me."

"Nothing is going to happen to us." I tried to assure her even though I don't think she would like it, "Carlota is right, nothing is going to happen to us, but now relax, this won't do you any good."

"I DON'T CARE WHAT DOES ME GOOD OR NOT." Marcos looked at me with a worried face, which is the most normal thing in the world, she hasn't looked these anxious years, in fact, I don't think I've ever seen her like this. The only person who could do anything at this moment is Alex, and that way I could take the opportunity for Marcos to go away and tell me more calmly what she understood, but I guess it has to do with those bitches.

"Marcos, go get Alex." I said without turning in his direction "Why?" He asked, "Do me a favor and go get him." I asked, turning slightly in his direction, "Don't even think about it, Marcos." Gabriela said, "Don't pay attention to her and go get Alex, but don't tell the others anything, we don't want them to worry."

"Where are the pills, Gabriela?" He asked and we both denied "She doesn't need them, you bring Alex." I insisted, "But Carlota, is about to get terrible." Marcos protested, "You listen to me and go get Alex, now, and stay with your sister, we don't want her to worry."

With that he left and I turned to Gabriela, grabbing her arms so she would stop moving for a while. "Relax and tell me what you mean because I'm not understanding." I responded to what she insisted so much a few seconds ago "Family… Clara told me that I would understand that family is the most important thing."

"And what does that have to do with them?" I asked, confused "They are Paula's family… I'm an idiot for trusting them… I shouldn't have… it's my fault we're in this problem."

I was going to answer her when I heard Alex call her, I'm sure he's the only one who can help her. I still don't know how he does it honestly, but as long as she feels better, everything will be better.

"Second door on the left." Luckily for me, it didn't take long for him to enter and as soon as he notices Gabriela, he quickly approaches her, which makes me move away so he can hug her. She doesn't hesitate to put her arms around his back.

"I'll go out to see no one is coming, you try to get her to relax, ok?" I asked the man and he nodded. "I will, but I don't think you need to leave." He said, looking slightly in my direction. "I know."

And with that I went out the door, I went down the stairs and when I opened the door to go to the dining room with the rest, I see both her mother and her grandmother are there, I'm more than sure to see what's happening to Gabriela.

"Are you going to tell us what's happening to Gabriela and why Alex had to go to her?" Lara asked with a frown. "Calm down, Gabriela will be fine." I assured them, because I knew with Alex's help, she wouldn't have the anxiety attack, or at least it would go away. "What's wrong with her? "She was fine a while ago"

"Yes, and she will, that's why she needed Alex." I insisted, "So can you tell us what's wrong?" Angela asked this time, "She'll tell you that, I can't do it and you know it." I said sincerely "She won't tell us anything, you should tell us."

"Ok, but another time, right now I can't." I mumbled looking towards the stairs. "I hope so, but is it that bad for her to get sick out of nowhere?" Lara asked and I nodded, because it is. "Considering that bitch is in the middle, you can say it's bad."

"Can't she have a quiet life? First Alex and now her." Lara protested, "Well, Alex makes that life calmer." I said honestly, "I don't know what to tell you." Gabriela's mother responded, "Look, Gabriela told me not to tell you, but I have to do it."

"What's happening?" Angela asked. "I'll tell you about it with the rest, it's related." I said vaguely "Ok, and when are you going to tell us all that?" Lara questioned. "As soon as I'm sure she won't be able to hear, I'll tell you."

"We're going to have it complicated then." They both said, denying, "I don't think so, she's going to put Ana to bed at Marcos's house, I think, or she's going to accompany Alex, I don't really know what she's going to do if I'm honest."

"We'll see what we do, but why did you leave them alone?" Lara asked and I smiled "Gabriela needs him, if we want her to relax, she needs to be alone with him. They're not going to do anything if that is what worries you, that boy has changed too much and does everything Gabriela wants, I promise you Lara."

"I already told you that, but you don't want to believe it." Angela said, rolling her eyes. "It's just complicated considering everything he did to her." Lara murmured, and I nodded, because until recently, I thought the same as her. "He wouldn't be able to do anything to her, he's only with her because he loves her and always there for what she needs."

"At least he does something good." She responded "Now he lives for her, Lara, I'm serious, it hurts Gabriela you don't accept their relationship." I answered, trying to make at least one of Gabriela's sources of stress disappear. "I try to do it, but it's difficult not to think about everything that happened between them, I don't know how she's able to do it, honestly. A couple of months ago just naming him and she kill us and now…"

"Now she loves him. You should listen to what Carlota says, she knows what she says if she spends almost all the time together." Angela said, putting a hand on her daughter's shoulder. "That's true, especially now we're at the same college."

"Since when are you at the same college as them and they didn't tell us anything?" They asked with frowns to which I laughed "Because that's when the whole problem with Paula and her expulsion started, she has so many things on her mind that she must have forgotten to tell you."

"She shouldn't worry so much about everything, that's what makes her sick." Lara said, denying, "Yes, that won't, but I'm sure that with Alex by her side, it will go better."

"I hope so, because I don't know what to do anymore, sometimes even the pills don't work." Lara mumbled the last thing, "Hopefully she'll get off the pills." I responded with a big smile on my face, because I'm completely sure that's what would happen with Alex's help. "I hope so."
