Chapter 84

ALEX

I have no idea what happened to Gabriela or why she collapsed like she did in the middle of the hospital hallway. After an hour the doctor who had treated her came and took out the sedatives she had and left after examining her.

Me and Carlos were in her room and I was sitting next to her so when she woke up she wouldn't wonder where she is and I don't know exactly how much time passed when she started to wake up. "Beautiful." I said, taking her hand and intertwining our fingers. "Where…?" She began, looking around. "You're in the emergency room, now relax and rest for a while."

"I'm not going to rest now; I have to go with Ana." She whispered and Carlos stood next to me looking towards my girlfriend "You're not going to move from here Gabriela, my sister is with Marcos, she's well taken care of." the man reported "And I don't doubt it, but I want to be there." She said stubbornly, pulling out the remaining line and getting up, but as soon as she tried to get up from the stretcher to go to Ana's room, she got dizzy and between me and Carlos held her so she wouldn't smack on the floor.

"Beautiful, you're not going anywhere like this." I said even though I know she's not going to hear me right now. "I'm going to go anyway, I just have a headache, nothing more. You can't move from here," the doctor replied, entering the room where we were. "Of course I can leave, I have to go with my daughter." My girlfriend replied, "Your daughter is well taken care of, what you should do is rest."

"Gabriela, listen to her, my sister is well taken care of, and Marcos is with her, nothing will happen to her." my best friend said and Gabriela denied "I don't care Carlos, I have to be with her. Look, I know you're doing your job and all, but I have to be with my daughter, she needs me." She insisted "And as I told you, you need to rest, you're under medical observation." The doctor replied, "And I'm not going to leave the hospital. I ask you, please, let me be with my daughter."

"I'll leave you if you stay calm and they take care of you, I'll go check on you later." With those words she bolted out of the room, leaving us and the doctor in the room alone. "I hope being with her daughter makes her better, you must monitor her at all times because right now she is somewhat delicate."

"But what exactly does she have?" I asked, trying to understand what's happening with my girlfriend. "Anxiety, and from what I could see, it's something normal for her, at least for a couple of years." She said looking at the papers she had in her hand. "Yes, but I had them under control until now."

"I don't know what happened to her or not, but maybe the stress and anxiety came back because she's under a lot of pressure or she's carrying quite big impressions for a girl who gets stressed easily. You must control that, now go with her." The doctor said and I didn't even wait for him to tell me one more time, "Thank you very much, doctor."

I was a few steps ahead of Carlos since he had left earlier, but it didn't take him long to catch up with me and we reached her just as she was about to enter Ana's room, but before she entered, I stopped her, which made her stay and watch for me. "My queen, don't look at me with that face, I just want to tell you if you feel unwell, let me know, or if you need anything."

"Nothing is going to happen to me Alex." Gabriela assured "Promise me or I'll take you back from the room you left before, no matter how much you get angry with me I'll do it." I said sincerely, "It's okay, if that's how you stay calm." She responded, rolling her eyes. "And remember what the doctor told you." I asked, "Alex, I doubt you heard what the doctor said if she left the room as soon as she said she could come see my sister."

"I heard it ready, and really my love, you don't need to worry, I'll be fine." My girlfriend assured again, not taking long to enter the room and I could notice how she relaxed a little, which is a good sign, at least from my point of view. "I'm here princess." Gabriela said with a small smile on her face "Mommy!!!!"

It didn't take long for Gabriela to approach her and hug her, which Ana didn't hesitate to do either. "How are you feeling princess?" My girlfriend asked, sitting next to the girl. "Better, my belly doesn't hurt anymore." She informed, and I could see how Gabriela relaxed a little at least. "That's good, but what about the coffee you went for?"

"What are you talking about princess?" My girlfriend asked with a frown. "Marcos told me you went to get coffee to take care of me and keep you awake." The girl reported, "Oh, I already drank it, don't worry and tell me what you want us to do." They talked for an hour until they both fell asleep, and thank goodness, because Gabriela looked tired and taking into account, she had hardly slept at all because of Ana, it's good she's resting.

"Can you explain to me why Gabriela is here? She doesn't look good." Marcos asked, turning in our direction "Do you think we don't know Marcos? But the stubborn girlfriend here wanted to be with Ana, she managed to convince the doctor to let her come here." informed his brother, "But she's not good." My girlfriend's best friend insisted. "She's better than she was," I murmured and both boys started to look in my direction. "What are you talking about, Alex? I don't see her well."

"She's not fine, but Carlos, do you remember when she was in the room, she started to get sick because she wasn't with Ana?" I asked and he nodded "What about that?" He asked without understanding what I'm getting at. "As soon as she entered through the door she relaxed. I don't know what those messages she received mean, but what I know is it's something bad, that's how I feel. We have to discover what those messages mean to help Gabriela in some way."

"I have an idea formed in my head, but it doesn't make sense." Carlos whispered; I don't really know why. "And what idea do you have formed, Carlos?" Marcos asked curiously. "I'm not going to tell you, not for the moment."

"Look, I don't know what's going on in your head, but it doesn't sound good." his brother pointed out and I nodded, because at least I agreed with him on there. "Believe me, if that's what I'm thinking, it's not good at all." he assured.

At that moment Gabriela woke up, somewhat upset, which made me approach her and put my arm over her shoulders and put my hand on her arm to make her calm down more effectively, which she ended up doing. After a while some police officers came to ask some questions and for some reason, they didn't ask Gabriela any questions, I guess it's because the doctor had spoken to them to tell them she had nothing to do with it or I don't know the reason, but I was happy, because I'm sure she would get sick again, and I didn't want that to happen.

After they finished talking to us, they entered the room where both Gabriela and Ana were and told us to stay outside. I was walking back and forth in the hallway, nervous about not being able to be with Gabriela, not being able to accompany her so she wouldn't get so nervous or I don't know, but being able to be with her to support her.

"Can you stop? Nothing is going to happen to Gabriela." Marcos protested "That's what I don't know Marcos, I'm worried she'll get ill again." I informed, "She won't because my sister is there, she doesn't want her to see her ill, so please stop worrying so much about her." He asked, "Leave him Marcos, you won't be able to stop him from worrying about her."

A few minutes later they left the room and as soon as we entered, I could see Gabriela more upset than she was a couple of minutes ago, which made me approach her and hug her. "What happened, beautiful?" I asked, pushing her away from me a little. "Nothing, I need to go to the bathroom."

She pushed me away and headed towards the exit of the room to leave, and I was going to follow her unless the doctor who had treated Gabriela a couple of hours ago came in, but she soon left, she told us to notify her as soon as she appeared.

It is at that moment we turned to Ana who's worried about something, we could see it on her face. "Ana, what did you and Gabriela talk about with the gentlemen a couple of minutes ago?" Marcos asked with a frown. "About how you treated me and if I had played with plants." She answered, "And did they ask Gabriela something?"

"No, mommy got sick, she was short of breath. She got angry too." informed the little girl "And what were you talking about at that moment?" Marcos continued asking his sister, "I told her some very nice girls had given me a suck in the afternoon in the park. At first it tasted bad, but then it tasted like strawberry." She confessed and we both frowned. "At what point did some girls approach you?"

"You were talking to someone on the phone." reported "Ana, this question is important so try to remember what the girls were like?" Carlos questioned this time. "One was blonde, very nice, and the other was dark and short." Ana responded quickly, "Excuse me, but I have to take this call, and Alex."

"What?" I asked, a little confused, because I had never heard his phone ring. "You don't need to go to Gabriela, she's with her grandmother." He informed and both Marcos and I frowned. "Angela hasn't arrived yet." Gabriela's best friend pointed out "Yeah she did, she sent me a message telling me she needed a moment with Gabriela, so stay with Ana until they come."

And with that he left the room. I didn't understand anything and everything is really weird, both Carlos and Gabriela were acting weird, but especially Carlos. "There's no one who understands these two." Marcos said, denying "I realize." I muttered, "Hey, don't worry so much about Gabriela, she knows how to take care of herself and now that she's with Angela you can be sure nothing will happen to her." Marcos assured, "I know, but I want to be with her, support her and all that."

"And she knows it, so don't worry so much." The guy asked, "Mommy knows it and that's why she loves you. Plus, she's strong." The little girl reported and Marcos had a smile on his face. "You see, Ana even tells you." He said "Okay, fine, I'll hear you, but just this once, next time I plan to go."
