15. Emergency room

LARA'S POV

Cameron and I were walking down the pit lane, our fingers intertwined, and I practically glued to him. We're just about to get to my garage, when I look about two garages down the road, Eric stops looking our way and it doesn't take long for him to run, and before he can give me the bear hug, I'm sure he would, I hid behind Cameron who ends up laughing.

"Now you hide from me Lara?" Eric asked with a pout. "I don't need you to give me that hug right now, I think I prefer it that way." I said, looking over Cameron's shoulder. "But I want to." he assured "And believe me, if it were at another time, you know I would let you, but not right now, my grandmother, mom and Bianca have already crushed me into their arms, I don't need anyone else to finish crushing me."

"Okay, okay, you can come out from behind your man." He replied, "Will you promise not to give me that bear hug?" I asked, more than anything to mess with him a little "I won't, if you promise me as soon as I can you'll let me do it."

"Deal." I confirmed. I stepped out from behind Cameron and rested my head on his shoulder. It doesn't take long for him to lean his cheek against mine, but not before giving me a kiss on the forehead.

"You guys make a gorgeous couple, I'm telling you." she assured and the smile on my face grew. "Thank you, Eric." I said "Now seriously, I'm glad to see you good Lara. I got scared when I hit your car… and more when you didn't respond to the calls of the marshals."

"Well, I assure you I'm great. Just a sprained wrist and bruises in the chest and right knee." I replied, "That's the best news you could give me today." he said with a sigh at the end "And I was thinking the best news you have was that Héctor would come to the next grand prix."

"I can see you're great." he said laughing "I already told you. That accident was nothing." I assured, even though I know it was "It wasn't anything, Lara. That guy did it on purpose." he protested, and I nodded, because I knew that "It's not something I'm not used to." I replied, shrugging.

"It's something you shouldn't be used. Good thing the cameras in my car were of some use." he replied with a proud air "Wait, were you close when Gallagher did that?" I asked confused for a moment "Practically stuck to your gearboxes, that's why I didn't have time to get out of the way and avoid hitting Lara. I'm sorry…"

"Eric, drop it. I know you would have, and you can see I'm great." I secured. I knew he was going to apologize the moment he saw me, but I knew he hadn't done it on purpose. "Shouldn't you be resting?"

"Believe me, that's what I want the most right now, but I just wanted to reassure the team and you if I saw you." I assured and Cameron laughed "For her, she would be sleeping in the van at this moment. She said she hated me and everything." Cameron said.

"I said at THAT moment I was hating you." I clarify "You are making me miss Hector, seriously." Eric replied with a smile "I miss him. Tell me at least I'll see him soon."

"He misses you too and he said he's coming to the Monaco race, he wants to see you after what happened today and would appreciate if you would call him yourself to make sure you're okay." he asked, and I nodded "Because he won't believe you if you tell him..."

"You know how he is." Eric said with a shrug. "I know, and I'll do it before I go to sleep." I assured him "I hope you don't fall asleep sooner." He said with a big smile on his face "I'll remind her if I need." Cameron replied.

"Thanks Cameron, now I have to go to the airport." Eric said. "Are you going to go see Hector?" I asked, "I would like to, but I'm going to Japan." he said, and I tensed, because let's say Eric's relationship with his parents isn't good "Tell me you're not going with them..."

"I'll have to see them, but I'm not going for them." he assured me "Your grandfather?" I asked, "Apparently he's ill... and I want to see him so I'm going." He said as if nothing "Is it serious?" I asked again. If I knew anything, it's that Eric was close to his grandfather "Let's just say he doesn't have much left."

"I'm sorry." I replied, "Don't worry, I'll be fine." he assured me, and he probably was, but I knew it was going to hurt just the same. "If you need me, you know where to find me." I replied, "I know, see you another time and Cameron, take care of her because this girl is a restless ass."

"It's not …" I started, but Eric held up his hand, stopping me in my tracks. "It is, and now seriously, I'm leaving." He came up to me, gave me a kiss on the cheek, and then left. It didn't take us long to resume our walk towards the box and once there the mechanics didn't take long to come to where we were. After a while, mom, grandma, Bianca and Isa appear.

Half an hour later we are heading to the van and once inside, we sit in the same places. While we were on it, I couldn't stop my leg from moving, but Cameron was quick to put my hand in it and tell me things along with the rest to distract me long enough to avoid a panic attack.

After the longest minutes of my life, we arrived at the hotel where my family and I were staying. Quickly, I got out of the van and started to go to the hotel to go to sleep and get away from the van.

I was about to enter the hotel, when a hand ends up on my shoulder, turns me around and I end up with my face on his chest. Cameron started running his hand over my back and telling me everything's fine, he's with me.

After a few minutes, I pulled away, took his hand, and led us to my room. None of the members of my family came to me, because they know at that moment, I prefer to be alone and calm down, more than anything to avoid having a possible anxiety attack.

Once we got to the floor where my room is, I took the key out of one of my pockets pants, opened the door and we entered the room. "You're better?" Cameron asked softly "Yes, don't worry." I assured "Do you want to go to sleep for a while before going to dinner?"

"Now I'm not sleepy, and honestly, my knee bothers me enough to lie down." I replied, "So what do you want to do?" he asked, and I shrugged "Well I don't know, what do you want to do?"

"I don't know, I don't have a preference." He said making the same gesture I made a couple of seconds ago, "Do you think we can watch the race?" I asked, "Do you want to watch the race?" he asked surprised "I want to see how it ends and I'm completely sure at some point I will be able to see it from your car."

"Okay, we have nothing to do." he said, and I smiled. I sat on the sofa with him next to me and looked for the channel where the race could be seen. Before getting fully settled, I got up to go get a bottle, with Cameron saying he could take what I needed, but my knee was bothering me, I could support it, so I ended up asking him if he wanted something, and despite who told me he didn't want anything, I brought him a bottle of water and something to eat, because he was a little hungry, I'm sure.

Once I had everything I needed, I sat down, handed him the bottle and we skipped the preview until it was time for the warm-up lap, in which nothing interesting happened. At the start, we could see how some drivers went straight into the first corner and some contact with another car.

"Wow, I never thought Collen's cars would go this fast." Cameron said on the edge of his seat. "This track is the best Eric has ever done, and the cars seem to have been great." I assured "That's what it looks like."

The time to pit was getting closer and you could see both my car and Cameron's car skidding in the rain, and then both Cameron and I pitted to change our wheels. "Wow, they did take time to change your wheel."

"It was stuck and there appeared to be a helmet visor protector on one of the brakes." I said, "Now that doesn't sound good." he responded moving his sight away from the screen to focus on me "No, I was lucky I didn't run out of brakes. I must thank it started to rain."

"Well, otherwise it would be a disaster." he replied nodding. When I came out of the garage, we could see how I was slipping a bit because the tires weren't warm, but on that lap, I managed to warm them up and soon caught up with Gallagher. Cameron and I held hands, and the moment I got parallel with him, he squeezed my hand. I kept my eyes on the screen, and he keeps squeezing it a little more each time until Gallagher made his move (which I hadn't noticed while in the car) and slammed into mine. Cameron gave a little jump, then another as Eric's car hits the car again.

"Shit, it looks different than when I saw it on the track." He said denying "Well, I want to assume it's the same." I answered sincerely "It is… why weren't you shocked or something?" he asked, and I denied "Why would I? After all, I was there when it happened."

"I know, but aren't you impressed or something?" Cameron asked again and I denied again "You can see it was a grand accident. I'm not going to tell you it didn't scare me when I noticed the car going into the barriers, or when Eric hit it again, because I'd be lying, but it's over, I'm great and that's what matters in the end."

The red flag lasted almost an hour and they took me out of the car about a quarter of an hour later, unconscious, because I don't remember anything about it. At some point they also took the reaction from my box when it happened to the accident, and I could see how one, Bianca threw the helmets on the ground and went out to I don't know where, and two, grandma and mom frozen in place until after a few seconds, tears begin to stream down their faces. That was the only thing that mattered to me about the accident, that and at some point, I see how Cameron goes to the back of the row of cars.

"Where were you going?" I asked with a frown. "To give that idiot what he deserves." He assure and I hit him in the arm "Cameron!" I protested "What? At that moment, many things came together in my head. Eli told me you didn't answer the radio. What else did you want me to do?

"Don't get in trouble. In the end you too could have lost your license." I answered annoyed "At that moment I didn't care about anything." he assured, and I denied "Promise me you won't do such a thing again. I don't want people to have the wrong image of you. Your fans can't see that part of you."

"And they won't see it unless someone does something like what that fool did to you again." he reassured "They'll kick him out, don't worry about it." I answered, because something told me once and for all they would do it "I hope so, because if not, I don't know what I'll do."

"Nothing because I won't let you do something stupid and lose your career." I assured him "You couldn't do anything about it." He stated "Oh, sure I could. You never saw me angry."

"I heard you." He said with a small smile. "Hearing me and seeing me are completely two things, believe me." I assured "But…" he began "I don't want you to get kicked out of the competition for breaking that wretch's teeth. I want to keep racing against the best on the grid and that won't be possible if you do."

"How did you manage to put up with him all these years?" she asked, now curiosity present in her voice and look. "Don't cross his path, prevent Bianca from doing it. Everything he did to me, ignore it somehow."

"Was he like this when you were on the same team?" he inquired and I nodded "Or worse, the only thing I didn't do was screw up the car because that mattered to the team, but the rest was the same. He took the improvements; my car was not going as it should."

"He's a son of a bitch." he affirmed, and I nodded, because I knew he was "I know, but despite that I learned things and ended up in a better team." I answered with a smile planted on my face "And thank goodness."

At the end of the race, we sat there talking about things we used to do as children and other things, until it was time for dinner. When I got up, I did notice how my knee was bothering me more than before, so Cameron ended up putting his arm around my waist and helping me stay upright.

Once we got to the restaurant where we were going to have dinner, Cameron pulled the chair out for me, and I carefully sat down keeping my leg as straight as possible. "What's the matter with you?" Grandma asked. "Nothing."

"You don't keep the knee there if it's not for nothing." he replied crossing his arms "Okay, okay, it might hurt more than before." I replied, "You should still go to the hospital to have it looked at."

"At the moment it isn't necessary." I assured "You know the sooner you go, the better." she said something she tend to tell me often "If it hurts more I'll go, but I think I can hold out until I get home."

"As you wish, you just think about it." grandma replied "I will grandma, don't worry." After an hour, lots of laughing and taking my pills, Cameron and I were in the room, him sitting on the bed looking at something on his phone and me in the bathroom. From time to time, he looked up to look in my direction.

When I was done, I started to walk towards the bedroom again, but ended up leaning against the wall because my knee was about to say stop. "Why don't you let me know, honey?" he asked denying "I'm fine, it's just the knee." I assured, but he denied again "I know it's the knee. Are you sure you don't want to go to the hospital to have it looked at?"

"At the moment it's bearable, and it may be because of all I walked." I replied "Maybe, but then, you will lie down and not get up unless it is to go to the bathroom." he said seriously and I nodded, because I had no intention of getting out of that bed unless it was absolutely necessary.

With that, Cameron scooped me up and carried me to the bed where he gently set me down. As soon as he put me on the bed, he went to the other side of the bed, turned off his phone, put it on the nightstand, lay besides me.

"Would you mind if I hugged you?" I asked and denied "I'd love to." I turned around and Cameron wrapped one of his arms around my hip while the other was under my head. I interlocked our fingers, and we were quiet for a while. I had never been so calm in my life.

"You don't know how many times I dreamed of having you in my arms." He whispered in my ear, "Well, I didn't, but it feels great." I assured, although it may be thought about it, "When did you realize you had feelings for me?" Cameron asked.

"Well, when we started spending more time together. Almost impossible to resist that flirtation." I said even though I know it's a lie, if I had really meant it, I know he would have succeeded "Oh my, I have to do it more often."

"I said almost impossible, but you can always counter with more flirting." I assured with a big smile on my face and turning around to see him "That's what I like the most about you." he said, and I couldn't help but frown. "What?" I asked "Your personality. You do and say what you want without caring what others say."

"And me thinking it was my physique…" I said joking "Don't get me wrong because you're beautiful…" he started, but I laughed "I didn't mean that, Cam. But yeah, I'm always honest, with whoever, and normally I always say what I think, less when I'm on the track with other drivers."

"Why?" he asked "It's seen as a man's sport. If I always say what I'm thinking they'll always say, Women, you don't understand anything you're talking about" I said, rolling my eyes, "But you know more than any of us put together."

"Because they screwed me in my first team, and I decided this wouldn't happen to me again. That's why Bianca is here, I know she won't let anything be done to my car and she's the best mechanic anyone can have." I assured, because all that was true "How did she end up in your team?" he asked once more.

"Bianca started last year. They gave me the opportunity to choose my team, and I didn't hesitate. She had to be in it." I said, because one, I knew my sister would do whatever was necessary to make the car in the best condition, but above all to make it the safest for me, and two, she was the best mechanic I knew, and if I want something, is the best of the best in the team "And they made her directly chief mechanic?"

"No, she did a couple of races as a mechanic until they realized how talented she was and decided to promote her over any of my other mechanics." I answered, "And what did they do with the previous one?" he inquired "He had to leave for personal reasons."

"Well, it was lucky she was there." he said with a smile on his face "The best of all." I confirmed. Cameron kissed me on the forehead, and it didn't take me long to fall asleep. When I woke up, I had no idea what time it was, all I knew was my knee hurt. I started to disentangle myself from Cameron's arms, sat on the bed, and by the time I got up, the pain in my knee intensified if possible, causing me to end up on the floor, which woke Cameron up.

"Lara, are you alright?" he asked, and I denied "The knee..." I started, but quickly, Cameron got up from the bed and when he got to my side, he started to touch my knee, but he soon stopped because it made it hurt more.

"Shit, we're going to the hospital right now." I didn't even protest anymore, because I'm sure at this moment it was what I needed. He picked up his phone and called someone, he was talking so fast I didn't even know what he was talking about, the only thing I know is after a few minutes, someone bangs on the door and he's going to open it letting Eli come in.

"What's going on?" she asked, confused. "I need you to look at Lara's knee. I want to know how her leg should be before I take her to the hospital." my boyfriend said and she nodded "Okay, Lara, it's probably going to hurt when I touch you, but I have to do it to know."

I nodded and she sat next to me saying something about my knee. The only thing I understood was that it's swollen, and we had to go to the hospital right now. It didn't take long for Cameron to grab a jacket from my suitcase, put it on me, and scoop me up.

The moment I felt the movement in my knee, I couldn't help but squeeze Cameron's shoulder, but he doesn't say anything to me and kisses me on the forehead. Eli was going to leave and said she would tell my sister when she woke up, but I asked her not to, I didn't want to worry her about anything.

After I don't know how long, we arrive at the hospital, Cameron parks and takes me out of the car in his arms again. If it were under any other circumstances, I would be telling him he seems to love holding me, but it hurt enough to grit my teeth.

Luckily for us, the doctor who had treated me this afternoon was on call, so she quickly ushered me into a room and began examining my knee. From what I understand, I had a fibber tear that needed surgery, so she goes find a doctor right now to do it. I just hope Grandma doesn't find out, because I'm sure she'll kill me for not listening to her when she told me.

CAMERON'S POV

It was half past five in the morning, and they were about to finish the surgery on Lara. Eli had called me to see how Lara was doing, and when I told her she was right, she told me Lara couldn't drive for three or four months, which would be a problem because I'm sure she wasn't going to like it.

After about half an hour, the doctors came out to tell me the surgery gone well, and I could go see her in a short time. When they came out with her sleeping on the gurney, I followed them to the recovery room where she would stay until she woke up.

An hour later, Lara starts to wake up, and as soon as she opens her eyes, I can't help but a smile appears on my face. "Hey beautiful, how are you doing?" I asked her, and a big smile appeared on her face.

"I didn't know there were such handsome doctors… Do you know you look a lot like my boyfriend?" Lara said, and I couldn't help but laugh, I guess it was the effects of the anaesthesia "Well no, I didn't know." I said playing along "You really look too much alike, I could mistake you for him and everything, or will he have a twin brother I don't know about?" she asked herself. "He doesn't have twin brothers if that's what you're worrying about." I replied.

"And should I trust a stranger?" Lara asked raising an eyebrow "Probably not, but since I'm the boyfriend I guess you can trust me." I said with a shrug. "How would I know you're not lying to me?" she inquired, "What do you want me to tell you, so you know?"

"Mmm… Our first date." She replied "Oh, one of the best. To begin with, I suddenly appeared in your village, and I must say, I spent a couple of minutes looking at you before calling, those glasses make you sexy, love. The point is, I managed to get them to do the kart competition…"

"I already thought it was difficult to have a doctor that handsome..." he said, denying and letting out a little sigh "Are you convinced it's me for real?" I asked, even though her smile confirmed it. "No one else would know that."

"And what if he was there too?" I asked and she nodded "Tes toda a razón do mundo, pode ser que me estés confundido por outra persoa... (You are absolutely right in the world, it could be you're confusing me for another person …)" she said and now I was the confused one "What?" I asked. "And that's what tells me it's you."

"Okay, okay, yes, I am. Now tell me how you are." I asked again "Inside my head everything is fuzzy would say. Things aren't in their place." she assured, and I couldn't help but laugh "That's because of the anaesthesia, I'm sure you'll be fine in no time."

"What time is it?" she asked, turning to look at me. "It's going to be seven in the morning." I said after looking at the phone "Shit, I'm sure they will call. Tell me you have my phone with you." she asked, and I nodded.

"Perfect, if they call and I happen to be asleep, tell them I'm asleep and we'll stay a couple more days to visit Belgium." she said, and I frowned. "Don't you want to tell them?" I asked surprised she didn't want to tell them.

"So, they could stay? Forget it, I don't need them here." Lara assured "They will find out and you know it." I said and she nodded "I know, but when they do, they won't be here anymore." She stated, "And then what will we do?" I asked, "We'll fly back there if that's what you want, and I'll get ready for Grandma's hell."

"I'll be with you if you want it." I assured "I recommend you not be too close; my grandma is one of those who get very angry." she answered, and I shrugged. "It won't bother me." I assured her "I warned you, now tell me when I can get out of here."

At that moment, a doctor entered the room, I think the one who did her surgery on looking at one of the papers he brought with him. "Well, Miss Gallego, I see you're awake. How are you doing?" he asked "Right now, fine."

"Okay, I'll look at a couple of things and the incisions and depending on how you are, maybe you can go home today." He responded, "That seems to me to be the best idea you could come up with. Now tell me how much recovery time I have."

"Well, from four to six months." he said and from the look on Lara's face, I knew she wasn't too funny. "Shit." she whispered, "I'm sorry, but there's a small chance you may recover before six months."

"When can I start putting some weight on my leg?" Lara asked "In two weeks, but on crutches, you shouldn't put all your weight on your knee. Are you going to stay here or are you going home?"

"If I can, I go home." She replied "Well, I recommend you find a physiotherapist and I will give you the papers so you can give them to your doctor, and they can take a control over the surgery, more than anything in case you have any problems."

"Eli can help you with that." I assured her, and I know Eli would offer herself, "If you already have someone, that's great." said the doctor "We have, don't worry doctor." I stated "Great, now if you'll excuse me, I'll look at your knee."

Lara nodded and I kept looking at her face to see if it hurt or something, but apparently not, what wanted to say or she was putting up with it, or the anaesthesia was still in her body, or they were giving her a good amount of medication.

While the doctor was checking Lara, her mother called, so I left the room and told her not to wait for us that Lara was sleeping and I would take her to a date in Belgium later, which convinced her and not much later hung up.

Once I went back into the room, the doctor was giving Lara a couple of instructions and he soon left. I walked over to her and sat next to her. After an hour, they moved her to a room and we spent the day talking and playing some games on the phone, we didn't have much to do. Around mid-morning, her grandma called her to ask if what was said about the surgery was true, and when Lara confirmed it, I heard her scolding her and I didn't even know much of what she said. After her grandmother, Bianca was next, which was basically the same conversation as with her grandmother.

It was half past nine at night when she was discharged, I informed the pilot of the plane we would be at the airport in less than two hours there. The nurses gave Lara crutches and hugs because they were fans of hers, to which she did not protest and promised them that next year she would invite them to the VIP part of the circuit and show them what they wanted.

Once we got out of the hospital, I was about to call a cab when Eli shows up with the car in front of me, an ice pack in hand. "Thought I could stick around and make sure everything goes well with your knee." she replied with a big smile "You shouldn't have stayed, Eli."

"I know, but I happen to be the physio and it's something Lara will need, and I know you could use someone to drive you to the airport." She replied, "You're right." I replied "Of course I have. Now get in the car."

"At least tell me you drive fast." Lara asked and Eli's smile widened "I'm not quite up to your speeds, but trust me, I'm fast enough I might get less points on my license."

"Eli, again?" I asked, but the truth, less surprised than other times. I'm already used to losing her points "I know, I know, but you know I like speed and so far, I haven't had any accidents."

"And thank goodness, now let's go, I want to arrive before midnight so Lara can rest." I said, "Hey Elisabeth..." Lara started, but she raised her hand "You can call me Eli."

"Okay Eli, tell me, have you ever driven a Ferrari or a sports Bugatti?" she asked and I could see the glint in Eli's eyes "I wish I could, but no, I didn't, why do you ask." my best friend askes and Lara just shrugged and smiled, something told me she was up to something "For nothing, I just wanted to know."

With that, Lara went into the back and started looking at things on the phone. Her left leg was bobbing up and down rapidly, or at least until Eli started to accelerate. After a while and having stopped to get our bags, we were at the airport getting on the plane. I was behind Lara to prevent her from hurting herself if she fell, and after a couple of hours later we were at the airport waiting for someone who apparently.

Ten minutes later, Lara's cars appear in front of us, and Bianca gets out of the Ferrari and a man I don't know gets out of the Bugatti. "Thanks for bringing me the car Marco, do you need me to pay for the taxi?" Lara asked and he denied "No, if I came it's because I was going to stay here, and you know I love it when you let me drive your cars."

"I know, see you another day." She replied, "Tomorrow I'll be back, and you better tell us what happened to your knee and to celebrate your second title properly." He said with a big smile on his face "We'll do all in the weekend, okay?"

"More people will go. See you, Lara." He said starting to walk to the other side "See you." The man began to walk in the opposite direction and Lara turned to look at Eli who was gaping at the cars in front of her.

"Well Eli, today is your lucky day. What car you want to drive? Lara asked, raising the two keys. "Are you going to let me drive one of your cars?" she asked surprised "Sure, and don't worry if you scratch it or something."

"I'm not going to scratch it." she assured "We will go into places where is a little space to the car, believe me, it's possible to do so. Now choose the car you want to drive." Lara said, "The Ferrari." My best friend said quickly, "Perfect, Bianca, you go with her to tell her where to go."

"Okay, come on Eli. Do you need help getting into the car?" Bianca asked her sister and she denied "No, don't worry." she assured "As you wish and before I forget, Grandma wants you to go home tomorrow."

"She already scolded me; I don't need any more scolding." Lara protested, but Bianca denied. "You asked for it by not telling her. Now live with the consequences." she assured "I'll spend the day sleeping tomorrow anyway."

"You will not escape from this Lara, and you know it. If necessary, she will come to your house and break down the door." Bianca affirmed and I heard Lara sigh "I know, now go, I want to sleep."

With that, Bianca turned, handed the keys to Eli, and climbed into the passenger seat, but not before putting the second's bags in the trunk. I took the keys from her hand, put the bags in the trunk and quickly went to the passenger side to help Lara get into the car, which she assured me wasn't necessary.

"Sure, you're comfortable?" I asked and she gave me a smile "Honey…seriously, I'm fine. Let's go home so we can get some sleep before Grandma kills me."

I laughed and closed the door. The road to Lara's house was silent and I'm going fast except for the slopes to get to this one since she didn't know them as well as she did, and I didn't want any pothole we caught or braking the street had to hurt Lara's knee. After an hour, we arrived at her house, I went out to open the door for her, but she was already leaving, so I went to get the suitcases. When I asked her if she needed anything before, I took our bags upstairs, she said no, she'd go to the kitchen to take a pill, but when I asked if it hurt, she just said it bothered her, so I let her go to the kitchen while I carried the suitcases. I was going to go up the stairs when I see Bianca go down them, she asks me where Lara is, and I point in the direction of the kitchen.

Going up the stairs, I left the bags in Lara's room and when I was going to go back downstairs, Eli appears in front of me. "Do you need anything Eli?" I asked confused to see her here "No, I just wanted to talk to you. It seems like we haven't talked in a while."

"I'm sorry about that…" I started, but she stopped me. "Don't apologize. I know the last couple of days weren't easy for you." she assured, and I nodded, because in part it had been like that "You could say."

"It is, but I want to tell you I'm glad to see you this happy. I haven't seen you like this in a while." She replied "I am. Did you know they knew Ellie?" I asked to see if she knew something more than me "Really? How come they didn't know she was your sister?" asked.

"Because she introduced herself with mom's maiden name." I said, "The truth is nothing that surprises me coming from her." she replied with a small smile on her face "Me neither."

"So did she take it bad about your sister?" Eli asked and I nodded, because that was partly how it had been. "She was taken by surprise, that's for sure." I replied "Understandable, anyone would do it."

"Do you know what they talked about me?" I asked leaning against the wall "Your sister was proud of you, of course she was going to talk about you. When she started, there was no one to stop her." she assured "She also had cancer."

"What are you talking about?" she asked confused "When we were in London to get things for mum, I went to her room to get suitcases, you know she had a lot of them, and there was a letter from her telling me she was sorry for not telling us, that we shouldn't blame ourselves. "

"Wow..." she said, "I know, and she wrote it thinking I would read it when she died of the disease." I whispered the last thing. "She had it all set up by the looks of it." she said looking at me "It seems so." I replied, "And how are you coping?" Eli asked.

"I can't lie to you, because at first it bothered me, she didn't tell us, at least not me." I assured her, "What made you change your mind?" she asked curiously and leaning against the wall in front of me "I didn't change it, I just could calm down and understand the reason why she did it."

"Lara?" My best friend simply asked "If you mean I calmed down enough thanks to her, yeah, I assure you. Before, when she noticed I wasn't well, she got up from where she was sitting and came to hug me, even though my back was to her."

"She knows you quite well, I must admit. I only ask you not to do anything to spoil it, she's the best girl you can have by your side." she assured and I nodded, because I already knew that "Do you mind if I help Lara with her rehabilitation?" She asked.

"I beg you to help her. I don't trust anyone else." I answered, "Even if I don't pay attention to you?" she asked as if that's the most important thing, which, coming from her, it probably was. "I don't care exactly, now she's the one who needs it more than me."

"Perfect, tomorrow I'll make the plan for her." She said, "Thanks Eli, now go to sleep, you must be tired." I replied "I am." she confirmed "Then go to sleep." I insisted "See you tomorrow, Cam." She said coming closer and giving me a kiss on the cheek "See you tomorrow, Eli."

With that, I went downstairs to go get Lara when I hear Bianca say my name, which makes it catch my attention. "What's wrong with me?" I asked curiously "Do you know what a rally is?"

"A what?" I asked, not quite sure what it was. "Let's say they are some kinds of races on dirt roads and paved roads." Bianca said. "That sounds like fun." I replied "It is. Do you want to try it?" Lara asked, making me focus my gaze back on her.

"When?" I asked "Tomorrow?" she asked, and I frowned. "Tomorrow?" I asked trying to understand what was happening here "Before you say anything, I signed up before the start of the season and it's tomorrow. Since I obviously can't drive and Bianca participates, I was wondering if you could do it for me."

"I'd love to, but I haven't the faintest idea where it's going." I answered sincerely "Don't worry about it, it's signposted, but I'll go with you." she assured with a small smile on her face "Ok." I answered after a few seconds "Perfect. Are you staying to sleep here Bianca?"

"No, I'm going home." she said, stretching. "You know you can stay, right?" Lara asked and she nodded "I know, but I know you'll get up soon, and believe me, I don't feel like getting up early."

"And who says it?" Lara asked with a raised eyebrow "I know you, no one needs to tell me, so see you tomorrow, Lara, rest." Bianca said "See you tomorrow, Bianca." With that, Bianca left the house leaving Lara and me alone in the kitchen. She put the glass down in the sink and I leaned against the counter. "Ready to go to sleep?" I asked, "I can't wait honestly." She assured "Then let's go."
