As she said this, the creature in her hands suddenly trembled.

However, it was a small tremble, so she didn't notice it at all.

After looking into the creature's red eyes for a bit, she decided to forget about it since it was just a small detail that she didn't notice earlier. Instead of thinking about this, she decided to go back to petting this creature.

As it was being petted, the creature couldn't help letting out soft moans to show that it felt pleasure from this. Eventually, the creature couldn't help letting out a soft "purr" sound.

When Maria heard this, she couldn't help saying, "Could it be that it really is a cat? How did it wander into this dungeon?"

Hearing this, the creature suddenly gave a "mew" sound and looked up at her with cute eyes.

Seeing this cute appearance in front of her, she immediately gave up on thinking more about this and started petting it even more.

She had to admit that this really was a very good feeling.

She had thought that the creature would be tough because of the scales that she could see, but she found that there was actually fur over those scales. This was very soft fur that was even softer than the chinchilla that she had petted when she went to the zoo that one time.

She couldn't believe how soft this feeling was, it was almost as if her hand was about to sink into the creature's fur.

She couldn't help getting more and more lost in the feeling of petting this cat, but there was something that pulled her out of it.

The strange thing was that the dungeon had been very quiet recently. Just a while ago, the sounds of explosions and fighting could still be heard, but now they had completely disappeared.

It was like the fighting had suddenly come to a stop.

However, there was this single explosion that still rang out.

For people that had been used to the silence, this sudden large sound was surprising.

Hearing this explosion, Maria's attention was pulled away from the cat and she turned in the direction the sound came from as she muttered, "Could it be that something else is about to happen?"

What she didn't notice was that the cat had an even more worried look than her as it looked in the direction of the explosion.

Taking advantage of Maria's distracted state, it suddenly jumped out of her arms and started running off in that direction.

Maria was caught off guard by the cat suddenly jumping out of her arms. She reached out and was about to say something, but then she stopped herself.

After all, this wasn't her cat, so she couldn't just grab it.

She tidied up her plates and turned to head back to the camp. However, after taking a few steps, she couldn't help turning in the direction that the cat had run off in.

Then she gave another sigh and headed back to the camp.

Ryu suddenly slapped the head of the person who had caused the explosion and shouted, "Idiot! What do you think you're doing?"

The cause of the explosion was one of the weaker magician awakeners suddenly shooting out a spell.

The situation was currently very tense with no one doing a thing, so for this young magician, it wasn't something that he could take. The stress kept building and building as he watched the wave of monsters in front of him.

Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and suddenly raised his staff to shoot out a spell.

Luckily, this spell didn't hit any of the monsters since they had already withdrawn after the disappearance of the black dragon.

Still, that didn't mean that the monsters would take this lying down. There were many of them that suddenly revealed hostile looks as they looked at the young magician.

The young magician immediately realized his mistake and bowed his head to apologize. The problem was, there was no use to him apologizing, it wasn't as if these monsters would accept this apology in the first place.

Ryu ignored this young magician since he knew that he didn't have time for this.

He turned back to look at the S Rank Monsters who were still standing there. They had been silently standing there after the black dragon had left, but now…

The Goblin Emperor and the Red Ogre seemed to be discussing something and pointing in their direction.

It was as if…

Ryu revealed a bitter smile when he saw this.

While he didn't know why they had suddenly stopped attacking earlier, he knew that it was a brief respite that they needed.

There was no chance that they would be able to take down these S Rank Monsters with the people that they had, even if they all sacrificed their lives.

So what they needed most was time.

As long as they could buy enough time, he was certain that outside help would be sent.

This was a dungeon break that contained three S Rank Monsters and that dragon, he was certain that the grade of this dungeon wouldn't be low. With such a high grade, it was almost guaranteed that the Hunter Organization would summon S Rank Hunters.

For these guardians of humanity, they would be able to break in and save them all.

However, they wouldn't be able to save them if they were all dead.

Ryu understood that it took time for S Rankers to come, so he needed to buy that time for them.

As long as the monsters didn't attack, that was time that was bought for the S Rank Hunters to come. So even if the situation was tense, he was happy to see the monsters not doing anything.

That meant more time bought for their rescuers to arrive and less casualties.

If they had to fight the monsters, it was impossible for them not to suffer casualties.

As for the black dragon that had disappeared, he had already sent people back to the camp and found that it wasn't there.

It was as if it had completely disappeared…

But he didn't have time to worry about that since he had people's lives in his hands.

Ryu couldn't help giving a sigh of regret when he saw this.

If only he had paid better attention to his own people, perhaps this wouldn't have happened and they would still be in that tense stalemate. But it was too late to regret this.

If the monsters were going to attack, the only thing that he could do was lead the other hunters as best as he could and try to resist.

He just hoped that the S Rank Monsters wouldn't make a move.

But before anyone could make a move, there was an oppressive pressure that once again fell onto the battlefield. This was the same pressure that had appeared when the dragon had first appeared…

So for it to appear again, naturally it meant that the dragon was back.

This black dragon was huge, so it really was hard to miss it as it appeared in front of the three S Rank Monsters.

They were surprised by the sudden appearance of the dragon, but they also quickly fell onto one knee in front of it. Once again, all of the monsters settled as they waited for their leaders to finish their talk.

The black dragon just stood over the S Rank Monsters, looking over their bodies as if it was examining something.

When the black dragon's red eyes swept over them, the S Rank Monsters couldn't help trembling. The way that the black dragon was looking over them was almost as if…it was deciding on a meal.

Finally, the black dragon made a move.

It reached out one of its claws and reached out towards the Fenrir.

The Fenrir trembled the moment that this happened. The other two S Rank Monsters let out sighs of relief under their breath for being spared the fate of being picked by the black dragon.

As the black dragon took hold of the Fenrir, it started stroking the Fenrir on its back with a thoughtful look as it muttered, "Not bad, not bad, that's quite soft."

The Fenrir couldn't help trembling once again when it heard these words.

The way that the black dragon was stroking its back and the way that it looked at it…The Fenrir couldn't help having a very bad feeling. Especially the way that the black dragon looked at it, it was almost the same way that one would normally look at someone that they were interested in…

As far as it knew, the black dragon was a male…and it was also a male…

Could it be that the black dragon was interested in…

If that was the case, then it wasn't as if the Fenrir could do anything to resist. The black dragon was just much stronger than the Fenrir, so even if the Fenrir did try resisting, then…He would be beaten and then he would be taken by the black dragon.

The Fenrir couldn't stop a single tear from falling from his eye.

He knew that there was no resistance if the black dragon insisted, so he had already resigned himself to his fate.

After a while, the black dragon gave a nod and said, "Un, you'll do. Your fur is just soft enough."

The Fenrir's head drooped and he said in a sad voice, "Please be gentle."

The other two S Rank Monsters looked at the Fenrir with looks of sympathy. They had come to the same conclusion as the Fenrir after seeing how the black dragon had acted.

They also felt grateful that it wasn't them that were suffering this fate.

After all, the dragons were famous for being lustful and if this one had no problem with Fenrirs, especially male ones…then it was hard to tell where it would draw the line.

The black dragon looked at the Fenrir with a strange look before saying, "Gentle? I'm not going to do anything to you."

The Fenrir looked up at the black dragon with a look of shock before asking, "My lord? You weren't planning on…" He didn't finish his words, but it was clear by the way that he left his words hanging just what he was implying.

The black dragon had a dark look, even darker than its normal scale colour and it looked like it wanted to smack the stupidity out of the Fenrir.

However, he held back and didn't do anything to the Fenrir.

He just said, "I'm going to take you to a place that will be like paradise, that's all you need to know."

The Fenrir looked at the black dragon with a doubtful look, but sensing the anger from the black dragon, he lowered his head as a sign of submission.

The black dragon was too lazy to deal with the Fenrir, so he turned to the other two S Rank Monsters and said, "As for you two…"
