Elisa immediately turned back after having the feeling of seeing a ghost. To her surprise, it was Mr. Alex. His legs on the floor were noiseless and as Elisa regained herself. There was ease on her face when she saw that it was no other person, but Alex.
"Bring me a glass of wine to my room."
"Okay Sir," and as she was about removing the oven mitts from her hands, she asked,
"Which of the wines Sir?"
"The same one you made me poured away." He said and was looking at her.
"Same one? How will I know?" She thought. She tried to regain the smell of the wine and Alex saw her puzzling eyes.
"Give me a glass of Merlot wine," then he left the kitchen. Elisa reduced the gas flames and this made her spend more seconds in the kitchen. When she got to the sitting room, she saw Loveth. Her glimpse of her was fearful. She looked at Elisa as she went close to the wine bar. Immediately as she opened one of the glass doors of the bar, Loveth wanted to say something, she shook her body and stamped her right foot on the floor. As soon as Elisa's hands came in contact with the wine, and she shouted at her.
"What are you doing there?"
"My boss asked me to bring some wine to his room."
Loveth immediately stood up.
"What?" She didn't raise her voice, but walked towards her.
"Your boss?" She mocked her with the way she moved her lips and continued,
"Is that what you came to do in this house? Your work is to cook, wash the dishes, the clothes and clean the entire house. It's not your duty to take wine to my fiance's room. Or to take anything to my fiance's room. Did I make myself clear?"
"Yes ma," she looked at the floor and blanked her eyes repeatedly.
"Give me the glass of wine and go back to the kitchen."
Elisa filled the glass cup with the wine and gave it to Loveth. You better get the breakfast ready. You dingbat. She took the wine and went upstairs while Elisa went back to the kitchen.
After climbing the stairs with a golden handrail, she opened Alex's door without a knock. Alex was sitting on a chair and was facing a working laptop.
Loveth immediately smiled and Alex returned his eyes to the screen.
"Were you surprised?" She smiled and walked closer to him.
"If I'm not forgetting, I told the maid to bring the wine." Alex said.
Loveth sat on the chair with part of her butt and smiled.
"Darling, I have never seen anyone as naive as this new maid. You wouldn't believe it, she was afraid to step her foot on the transparent staircase. She is so naive. Where did your friends see? We better look for another maid, she will disgrace us when we have an important guest." She waited for Alex to reply, but he resumed his typing.
"Should I look for a new maid?" She asked slyly.
"No," he replied coldly and added, "tell her to bring my breakfast."
"To this place? When was the last time you ate in your room? Are we going to eat together in this room? Why can't we eat at the dining table down downstairs?"
"As you can see, I'm very busy. I need some time to myself." He took the wine and sipped from it. Loveth was looking at him with disbelief but did not make it obvious. It has been a long time since Alex has actually eaten on his mini dining table in his large complex bedroom. The bedroom was so large that it had all Alex needed. There was a mini office section, four couches and a big flat television immersed into the wall. His bed was far to the right, close to the wall. At the far left, there was a mini dining table.
Loveth went out of the room and felt sad. On her way downstairs, she met James going to Alex's room. That was the second time James was seeing her that morning and because they were passing each other by some inches, James greeted her. Her unsettled heart made her to ignore James and James went to knock on Alex's door.
"So quick," Alex thought. He was thinking Elisa had brought the food.
"Come in," he looked at the door to see if it was Elisa. When he saw that it was James, he faced his laptop again.
"Good morning Sir," James stood close to him. "You called me."
"Yes, I did. First, I want you to go and meet the new maid. Have you seen her?"
"Yes."
"Accompany her to bring my breakfast to my room. I want you to send some money into her account. Hmm…for some medication. That's okay for now. You can go."
James went out of the room. He was a man of an average height. His handsomeness could be considered okay by a few women. He had worked for Alex for the past four years and he had gained Alex's absolute trust. As a butler, he has extra keys to every room in the house. All the buying of anything that was connected to the house was done by him.
When James got to the kitchen, Elisa was almost done with her cooking and she was about to turn off the gas flame.
"Our boss said I should accompany you to bring his breakfast to his room."
At the end of James' statement, Elisa remembered Loveth's word's…"It's not your duty to take wine to my fiance's room. Or to take anything to my fiance's room. Did I make myself clear?" Elisa immediately shook her head and tapped her right leg.
"I'm feeling pains in my right leg. I find it difficult to climb stairs. Please, can you help me take the food to his room?" She dragged her entire face towards her nose and it was as if the pain in her leg resurrected.
"Okay, I will do that. Oh! Sorry. I hope you are getting some treatment on your leg?"
"Yes. I do."
"Probably, that's why my boss asked me to send her some money," he thought.
Elisa served his meal and gave it to James. In more careful steps, James walked out of the kitchen. Half way through the sitting room, Loveth asked James.
"Why the murmuring in the kitchen?"
