What Nonsense Is This

She gently opened the door and saw no one at the door. She was just hallucinating out of fear. She closed the door again and called James. She could feel the sound of her breath. Her fear chided her fingers as if she was uncovered on a winter night. She felt the disadvantage of her actions more than what she was hoping to have at that moment. But she took a deep breath and curled her lips before asking James.

"What's your plan? Please speak fast, I want to leave your room."

"I was thinking if you can drag Elisa through one of the back doors and place her outside. So when I'm coming inside, I will carry her in and say that someone must have dropped her near the house when she saw that she was drunk."

"Oh my goodness! How did you come up with such a genius idea?"

"I'm doing my best to get my balance money from you."

"That's not an issue James. I will pay you what I promise you. But I don't think I have the strength to carry her outside, so you should come and carry her yourself. Park the car some yards away and come and carry her out through the back door."

"If that is the case, you need to go to the sitting room and make sure my boss does not leave. Please, help me open the back door on the right. It's closer to my room." They spoke very fast.

"I will." Loveth answered and ended the call. She came out of the room, looked left and right before going towards the back door to open it. After opening it, she went to the sitting room. When she got there, she saw Henry and Alex still discussing wholeheartedly and she sat close to Alex and smiled. She didn't contribute a word to their discussion, and she was waiting for James to come inside with Elisa.

It was about fifteen minutes when she had a knock on the door and before all of them would turn their faces towards the door, James opened the door and Elisa was on her shoulder, and with great struggle, he walked in and placed Elisa on the chair. Alex stood up at once. The sight of Elisa produced a frightening look on his face.

"What happened? Where did you see Elisa? What happened to her?" Alex asked repeatedly. Elisa was still fast asleep and Alex walked to her with so much compassion and held her right hand.

Loveth felt a sharp crush of her heart at the way Alex showed great concern for Elisa. She stood up and walked close to Elisa and smelled her mouth.

"She is drunk. What nonsense is this? I thought she went to where I sent her, instead and she came home drunk." Loveth spoke with so much disdain.

"Where did you see her?" Alex turned his face, he was still holding Elisa's hand as he asked James.

"I saw her close to the house lying on the ground. She was drunk and I think a good Samaritan brought her close to the house."

Alex quickly carried her from the chair and took her to her room. Loveth, James and Henry were surprised the way Alex carried her at once and they followed him with their eyes until he left the sitting room. They thought he would take much time before he would come back, but he came immediately.

"Where are you going?" Alex walked in as he saw Henry standing up and was about to go out.

"I want to go, Sir."

"Wouldn't you repair what you came for? James is here already."

Henry didn't know what to say at first. He couldn't pull his tongue and he looked at James who came to his rescue.

"I thought you had an urgent place to go. Let's arrange for another day." James said as he looked at Henry's face.

"No. No. No." Alex insisted and continued, "take him to your room and let him repair what he came here to repair. The more you abandon them, the more they will damage other things." He spoke with command. They were frightened by his strange tone and they gazed at each other.

In order to obey Alex, both James and Henry went inside with his tool box and Loveth was watching. When they had left, she said,

"I don't like the attitude of our maid. I know you are angry with me, but it seems the maid is capitalizing on that. Can you imagine, I sent her an errand, and she came home drunk. What does she take me for?" She stood in front of Alex, but Alex refused to say a word. He only stretched his right hand and took his glass of wine and drank from it. The sitting room became very quiet. When Alex deliberately refused to reply to her, she walked away angrily to her.

Alex stood up and went to the sitting room door and locked it with a code and went to meet Elisa in her room. He stood at the edge of the bed, waiting for Elisa to wake up. In his presence, he saw her moving her body and he admired her beautiful face with a feeling of satisfaction.

"Elisa, are you okay?" He woke her with a calm voice and caressed her right cheek with his right thumb.

Elisa woke up and blinked her eyes when she saw Alex sitting on her bed. She was surprised, but pushed herself away. Alex gave her ample time to recover herself, as she glided on the bed to rest her back against the wall on her bed.

"What's he doing here?" She thought and both were looking at each other.

"How are you doing right now?" He asked again. When he saw that she had not gotten herself fully, he paused for a few minutes and added.

"I have been waiting for you to wake up." Alex helped her to stand and she was very weak. He wanted to assist her by holding her on her waist as they walked out of the room, but Elisa refused and gradually removed his hand from her waist.

"Let's go to the sitting room. I have a surprise for you."

"Surprise?" She immediately remembered what Douglas told her that fateful Wednesday before he took her away. She pulled herself back.

"No, no. Don't be afraid. I just want to tell you something."

"Please Sir, why not say it here? I don't want to get into any trouble with your fiance."

"No Elisa, come, come before it will be too late."

Alex urged her out of her room and they went to the sitting room. Alex took his phone and called James.

A few minutes later, James came out and was walking towards him.

"Go and call your friend and Loveth. All of you should come out."

James went in and after several minutes, the three of them came out. Elisa was sitting down and when she saw Loveth, she stood up.

"Sit down," Alex said and wanted to pull Elisa down with his right hand, but Elisa stepped away.

"I said sit down." He increased his voice and Elisa showed some level of incompetence and sat down. Alex turned his face towards the three of them and said,

"James? Where exactly did you see Elisa?"

This question came as a surprise.

"Sir, I saw her outside, very close to the house when I was coming home from the airport.

Alex stood up and smiled and walked around the three of them, then Loveth quickly distanced and sat down so that she could see James' face.

"James, I am asking you this question for the second time. Where did you see Elisa? I want you to tell me the truth."

The sitting room became fearfully quiet and James' heart started pounding. Without delay, Loveth tried to communicate to him with her eyes. But James immediately knew something was wrong from the tone of his master.
