Young Ladies To Grace The Party

Elisa was sitting on a couch when her mom rushed in with her phone in her right hand. She looked very excited.

"Elisa," she called and I turned my face toward her.

"Did you give anyone my account number?"

"Yes, I did. Lizzy."

"She transferred to me $15,000."

"That's awesome. Nice of her." Elisa smiled.

"Your coming here has really helped me." She walked closer to Elisa and embraced her.

"This is a trial time. We are going to overcome all of this."

"Thank you. Hmm… What about your phone? I can use some of this money to buy you a phone."

"Mum, don't worry. I know why I am not using my phone for now. Your phone is there for me to use. I know why. When the time is right, I have the money to buy one. Thank you mum. You are the one who needs this money the most."

Elisa's mum turned and was going back to the room when they heard a knock at the door. She waited to see who was knocking why Elisa stood up to open the door.

"Good afternoon ma," Elisa greeted.

"My beautiful angel. It has been a long time I hope to see you." She embraced Elisa. It was Elizabeth, a dear friend of Elisa's mom. Her voice attracted Elisa's mom and she smiled as she walked toward the door.

"My dear Elizabeth." Elisa's mother embraced her and they were still greeting when Elisa left the sitting room and went inside.

"How is your health ever pretty lady? Hmm… you always look young no matter the season. What's the secret Abigail?" Elisa's mum smiles in response.

"Seriously speaking, what's the secret? You are as gorgeous as I knew you years back."

"You came all the way from Georgia city to come and see me."

"Why will I not when I hear about your illness?"

"Please sit down," they both sat close to each other and they held hands.

"I missed you Elizabeth. How is your husband?"

"I don't want to talk about that. Similar thing that happened to you, happened to me. It's better not to scratch open a healing wound."

Elisa's mum took a deep breath as she looked at her eyes.

"Welcome, once again. What will I offer you?"

"Don't worry. Your health is what brought me here."

"I'm not that strong. I was surprised that I gained strength when I woke up this morning. Days from now, the doctors will operate on me. In fact, the money for the operation is what is holding us behind."

"I'm so sorry. Don't worry. You will be fine. That reminds me. Now that Elisa your daughter is around, she can benefit from what I'm about to say and in turn benefits you. I don't know all the details, but in summary, there is a very rich family. Though, it's a secret," she lowered her voice and continued,

"The family is looking for a beautiful lady for their son. They are recruiting beautiful single ladies to feed the guests' eyes. Then whoever the son likes, they will arrange for the wedding. A friend of mine who is among the committee told me. Also, all the ladies that participated will be paid even when their son did not pick any of the ladies."

"Hmmm…" Elisa's mum hummed.

"What?" She asked.

"I don't know if Elisa will like such a thing."

"I don't think she has a choice on this. We are all trying to raise money for your operation."

"You are right. I will talk to her about this later today."

"Once she accepts, let me know. I will send you the lady's number in charge. It's like a beauty pageant. You know wealthy men love to see beautiful things, and ladies are not exceptional. Or let me call the lady and ask if they are still looking for more young ladies."

Elizabeth opened her pink bag and brought out her phone and dialed the woman's number.

"Hi Mrs Charles, is Elizabeth on the line."

"Good afternoon."

"I'm calling regarding what you told me. Are the ladies completed or you still need more?"

"We are looking for five more beautiful ladies. Have you seen anyone?"

"Yes."

"Can I talk to her or is she with you?"

"She is presently not with me, but just to know the situation on ground, she will be the one to call you later. I will tell her to mention my name when she calls you, to make it easier for you to recognize who is calling."

"No issue with that Mrs Elizabeth. But the party is tomorrow. Can she come today, or the worst scenario, come to the hotel before 12 PM tomorrow. The party starts at 3 PM."

"I will get back to you on that.

"Okay, you are always welcome. Better still, let me send you the hotel we are using."

"Fine."

Elizabeth ended the call.

"I told you. There are still available slots. If it happens your daughter steals the heart of the family's heart, money, wealth will be like normal utensils for you."

Her similes made Elisa's mom giggle.

"I'm speaking the factual truth. Talk to Elisa. This is not prostitution. Let me know. She is not sleeping with any man there. Mrs Charles told me the whole procedure."

"I think it's going to be fun."

"Exactly."

They discussed for more than two hours before Elizabeth left the house and returned to her place.

That evening after dinner Abigail took Elisa to her room.

"My friend, Mrs Elizabeth, gave me vital information about a family party taking place tomorrow. The organizers need young ladies to arrange the events and also some that will dress to entertain the guests. Also, she told me that a young man in the family is looking for a wife. He might choose a lady and get married to her."

"Okay, so who are you sending there?" Elisa asked.

"Who else do I have? That's not the main reason I want you to go there. The ladies will be paid. We can get some money from such a service you are about to render and we can use it to pay the medical expenses."

"Now I can relate with you. Regarding the marriage aspect, count me out. Right now, I'm tired of men and their heartbreaking practices."

"Let me give you my phone so that you can talk to Mrs Charles. When she picks up the call, tell her Mrs Elizabeth gave you her number."

"Okay."

Her mum gave her the phone and Elisa dialed the number.

"Good evening ma, Mrs Elizabeth…"

"You are the lady she was talking about?" She interrupted.

"Yes ma."

"First of all. I want to call you on video call. Beauty is the first criteria."

"Okay. You can call." Elisa ended the call.

"She said she wants to call me on video call…" Elisa was still talking to her mom when the phone rang and she picked up the call and put the phone in front of her.

"What's your name?"

"Aria."

"Wow…you are such a beautiful young lady. You are the type of people we are looking for. You are the most beautiful ladies I have spoken to since the arrangements of the party. So I need you to be here. I will pay for your transportation and other incentives that will boost your payment."

"Thank you. Please, can you tell me precisely what will be my duty at the party? Am I serving as a waitress or what?"

"No. I will not stress you. You will be among those to grace the occasion."

"I would prefer to be a waitress."

"Hmm… okay, I will put you among those to share wine for the guests. But your beauty has paid the price, why do you want to stress yourself out?"

"Thanks for your compliment."

"I will be sending the address of the hotel to you. The hotel is the place we are going to dress before heading to the place of the event. Do not bring what you will wear. Everything is available here. All we need is your presence."

"Thank you." And she ended the call.

"This is an opportunity." Her mum said.

"I don't like doing something like this. I'm doing it to please you."

"Thank you Elisa. And also, why did you change your name?"

"I don't just know." She smiled and continued,

"Have you taken your medication? The drugs with you will be sufficient to extend when the operation will be done."

"Yes. Let me go and take it now. Thanks for your reminder."

Her mum stood and left her room. Elisa fell on the bed with her back and she remembered something.

"My dad lives in Georgia. Why can't I use this opportunity to meet him and tell him about my mum's health. He has the money and he can bail us from this situation. Hmm… if the party was taking place in the place I came from, I wouldn't have ventured to attend it. Such a big party, they might invite Alex. Alex is the last person I want to see. His appearance gives an enormous fear.
