Sadness Prevails Ai Yue’s wellbeing

In the last chapter, we talked about how Ai Yue was backstabbed by her new friends from class.

For the next few months, Ai Yue was feeling down and sad about everything that happened. She felt that it was her fault. She could not control how she felt and she cried for days. Her heart felt so heavy and was so weak that when she thought of what happened, she would break down into tears. The pain in her heart was incomparable to anything she had ever experienced before. She stopped eating her meals regularly, stopped meeting up with her friends and well even stopped playing her favourite games. It was so excruciatingly disheartening that she would become like this. But, never did she knew she would experience something like this.

Her mother could not stand seeing Ai Yue like this. Her mother would ask her if she was feeling alright. But, Ai Yue's reply would always be, "I am fine…I am just feeling tired…" One day, her mother decided to break the ice in Ai Yue's heart. She sat next to Ai Yue who was on the sofa watching television.

"Yue Yue, are you sure you are feeling alright?"

Ai Yue got a little agitated, "I said I was fine, Mother! I keep telling you that but you kept asking me the same thing over and over again!" Ai Yue then wrapped her hands around her face.

"Yue Yue, I understand you are feeling sad but these people will appear in your life more and more. What's most important is for you to be able to handle it. I know you will think that I am not siding you, but, these people don't deserve your sadness. You can cry it all out today and tomorrow, my happy Yue Yue will be back!"

Her mother's words made Ai Yue cry. No one could ever do that. Ai Yue has always stood on her guard and would not let out her emotions on anyone. It is only her mother that could do that. Even when she was down, she would never let her guard down and would usually bottle it up till it burst like what you see here. It was always a matter of time when Ai Yue would break down crying about how she feels. The pain in her heart was excruciating.

Ai Yue then sat there crying in front of her mother, "I wanted everyone to know that I am fine. But, each time I do that in front of others, they wouldn't know. Unless it's you, mother."

Ai Yue then wiped her tears, "It feels like the whole world would collapse if I let out my emotions. It feels like that all the time and I don't know how and why I have become this way."

Ai Yue's mother gave her tissues, "Since young, even when you had experienced a little unfairness, I noticed that you would bottle everything up. You know, when I was your age, I was like you too. I just bottled all my emotions up and soon I was frustrated that sometimes things don't go as planned. That was when I learnt that holding up emotions isn't that great after all."

Ai Yue's tears started falling again. The floodgates in her eyes opened like they had not opened in a long time. This day was a heart-to-heart talk she didn't think her mother would give her. After Ai Yue's tears fell, it stopped as she came down.

"Feeling better now? Ai Yue?", Ai Yue's mother asked.

"I am feeling much better after talking with you about this. I wished this had never happened but what is done cannot be undone."

"These people appear in your life more and more which is saddening. But, these people really exist that they would come biting you just because of jealousy and hatred that they have of you. So, instead of crying and being hurt by them, you should stay strong and fight them."

Ai Yue nods and that night was the night that Ai Yue could even go to bed earlier. As soon as she started fashion school, she had to burn the midnight oil many times. In fashion school, it is very easy to burn the midnight oil for assignments. However, even though fashion students are so busy, her friends destroyed her in a matter of days when they were grouped up in another group assignment.

The girls destroyed her when she was at her lowest point in her life. Ai Yue thought to herself, why do people not like her? What did she do wrong? Was she to blame for this whole situation?

After all these had happened, Ai Yue was pretending to be fine, ate alone, sat alone and even went back to the dorms alone. Luckily, the girls did not stay in the same dorm as Ai Yue. If they did, Ai Yue would be mentally bullied by the three of them.

Soon, her classmates found it suspicious. They always saw Ai Yue with the three other girls but never saw her alone before. They knew the break between Ai Yue and Fen Yi but never thought that she would have a break yet again. But, no one dared to say a thing about it. However, soon, the three girls spread rumours about Ai Yue. This again caused a huge knife to stab into Ai Yue's heart once more. This became a physical problem.

Even though Ai Yue started eating her meals, she started feeling pain in her abdominal area. The pain started out small but soon it became so painful that she needed to see a doctor. She went to the doctors several times before finding the specialist. At first, she thought, it is just a small problem, what could possibly go wrong? Soon, she finds blood in her faeces.

As she was rushed to the specialist clinic by reference from the general clinic, she was rushed to do an endoscopy by the specialist. Ai Yue was very young when the endoscopy was done. She was only 18.

In the operating theatre, as soon as Ai Yue was inside, she was placed on anaesthesia, injected into her body via her arm and she was breathing through a mask with anaesthesia as well.

The doctor told Ai Yue before starting the endoscopy, "Let's count to 10 together. One…two…three…"

Ai Yue counted with him and soon, Ai Yue slept.

The endoscopy took around 45 minutes as it was not really a surgery.

Afterwards, Ai Yue woke up and decided to order porridge and usually patients under the use of anaesthesia do not make good decisions. She regretted her decision that day.

The rest of the day was her just going home to rest. She had nothing much on her mind. Other than the fact that those three girls caused her misfortune of having something wrong in her stomach.

The next day, she went to the specialist clinic for the results of what is in her stomach and she was diagnosed with peptic ulcers. Luckily it wasn't that bad. The doctor said that it may be due to the visits to the general clinic as they issued painkillers for her stomach. And, since young her stomach had not been great and this caused ulcers in it. The specialist then issued her two months worth of medicine and she went home.

What the girls did to Ai Yue had largely impacted her life and now Ai Yue is paying the price of not taking care of her body. This was such an unfair situation but nothing can be done if it destroyed Ai Yue physically.
