Chapter 306: Welcome to Wano Country

One month later.

"This is bad, seas are getting more violent and the wind is getting stronger…" Nami looked into the distance.

"We are definitely getting close to Wano. I remember reading about some of those strange trees." Reiju looked around the rock peaks that surrounded them and the trees that were growing on them.

"Looks like the weather is getting even worse in the distance." Franky pointed out.

"Should we wait for that storm to end before approaching further?"

"I don't think that weather is going to end any time soon. Those climate conditions are very unnatural." Nami said.

"Didn't the samurai say something about being careful with currents around Wano?" Vivi recalled.

"So what?, is just a few waves and some clouds. I'm sure this ship can take a lot more than that." Zoro said.

"Something is approaching!" Reiuju pointed at the waters.

"Fish?" Nami observed.

"Those are carp!. But, what are they doing here?, they are freshwater fish." Sanji commented.

"I would be questioning their size more than anything, each of them is almost half the size of the Sunny." Franky looked worried.

"Like I said before…you should have made the ship bigger!" Vivi huffed.

"I told you!, that was not possible!" Franky shouted at her.

"You know…if Luffy was here, he would probably be demanding to capture one and cook it," Sanji said.

"And I would tell him that we have better things to worry about, like preventing the ship from sinking!" Shouted Nami.

"Look head!" Reiju warned them.

The currents had taken them in front of a massive waterfall.

"Those carp are climbing it!" Sanji exclaimed.

"Those rapid currents must connect to some freshwater river."

"The current is going to make us crash against the waterfall!" Nami grabbed onto Vivi.

"Do something already!"

"Would you calm down, dear? I have this under control…"

The entire ship was lifted in the air and started to fly upwards towards the top of the waterfall.

"I forgot she could do that…" Said Franky.

"You can make the ship fly?!" Sanji never saw that.

"That's incredible…" Neither did Reiju.

"There is something strange with that river," Nami said when they were reaching the top.

"Is that a whirlpool?" Asked Zoro.

"Yikes…is a good thing we didn't navigate these waters normally, we would have lost our ship there," Sanji said with dread.

"We rarely do things normally, to be honest." Said Nami.

"And I bet there was a better entrance that we missed somehow…but here we are. I'm landing this thing." Vivi levitated the Sunny to the closest coast and placed it down gently, while leaving it encased in a block of ice, to prevent it from floating away.

"Are you going to leave the ship like this?. Won't the ice melt?" Reiju questioned.

"It won't. And those currents are too strong. The anchor may not be enough to keep the ship in place." Said Vivi.

"What do we do now? Is unlikely that Luffy and rest made it here faster than us, since they were planning on waiting several more days at Zou until everyone recovered." Nami said.

"Let me see…" Vivi enhanced her observation haki as far as she could go and scanned the island in search of any familiar aura.

It did not take her long to find one…but it was not Luffy or any of her crewmates.

"So he made it here…"

"Wait, Luffy is here then?" Asked Sanji.

"No…is not the Captain." Vivi shook her head.

"Then, who?" Asked Zoro.

She gave them a mischievous smile.

"You will have to wait and find out!."

"I hate it when you do that!" Nami muttered.

"But I can tell you that our crew has yet to arrive…we could lie low for a few days and wait for them." Suggested Vivi.

"That's probably for the best. We don't want to go and provoke another Emperor so soon…" Nami glanced towards Vivi.

Franky looked at the Sunny.

"Then maybe we should hide the ship a bit."

"That's not a bad idea…Vivi, can you move it between those rocks over there?" Sanji pointed.

"Yes, we better move it from here before someone spots it. We don't know if this beach is being watched." Reiju agreed with her brother.

"The beach is being watched…" Zoro unsheathed one of his swords and looked towards the forest.

"You sensed them too?" Vivi asked.

"No, I don't have that ability. But my other senses are very sharp…I'll take care of them." Zoro walked forward as someone came out from between the trees.

Two men mounted some strange lizard, and behind him was a giant white monkey with a sword.

"You were right, a ship has entered our country illegally!" One of the men said.

"Of course I was!." The other man pulled out a rifle.

"Baboom, keep them busy while I shoot them down!. We don't tolerate any intruders here!."

"Tsk!, you dare pointing that thing at these ladies?!" Sanji was about to rush out when Vivi stopped him.

"Hold on, let him take care of this trash…I'll go hide the ship." Vivi turned around and focused on lifting the Sunny back in the air.

The rifleman aimed at her first.

"Turning your back on me…how careless."

"Three swords style…Purgatory Onigiri!" Zoro disappeared and an instant later, he was behind the two mounted men.

"Ahh!" The baboon screamed as his body was cut in half, followed by another bloodcurdling scream from the two men, who were cut in the same way.

Their noises did not last long. Not even five seconds later, Zoros's three opponents were dead, leaving only the lizard mount alive, who quickly ran into the forest with a terrified expression.

Vivi had been watching the short fight with interest. During the last month, she did more than just train her haki, she also made sure to help Zoro and Sanji grow stronger.

She especially did not go easy on Zoro, and he has improved a lot in such a short period of time.

"That was quite brutal…" Franky glanced at the corpses with a grimace.

"Those were probably Kaidou's men…we have to be careful. Leaving any of them alive will alert the Emperor of our arrival." Reiju said.

"That would be terrible. Vivi!" Nami turned to her.

"This time we are going to blend in!. I'm serious about it!"

"Why are you all looking at me like that?" She asked.

"Come on, have some faith. I can totally blend in! just you watch."
