Chapter 82 The City Of Warriors Part 18

Yul, Abrafo, Lixin, and Lixin's men entered the palace. They began to look around and saw that there was not a single living creature among them. The palace is kept very tidy, as if someone still lives there.

Abrafo covered the corners of his mouth with his hands and shouted, "Michio...!"

Hui said, "Sir Abrafo, don't shout, what if our enemies hear us?"

Abrafo, who was already frustrated, exhaled, and said, "Oh... I forgot about it. I would rather find Michio than get the attention of the unwanted." He scratched his head irritably. "We've discussed this. Stay where you are, and we'll find you." He shakes his head and looks at Yul. "You need to make him understand that if he gets lost, he needs to stay put and we'll find him."

Lixin said, "Sometimes things are not as easy as we imagine. Think about it differently, if you were attacked by the enemy, would you stay where you are and wait for rescue?" He sighed and looked at Abrafo. "By the time help arrives, you could be dead. How could you not understand the simple concept of trying to survive until help arrives?"

Abrafo turned to Lixin angrily, and said, "Hey, are you calling me stupid?"

Lixin said, "I'm just comparing the situation. I never mentioned your name, and I didn't indirectly say that you are stupid."

Yul said, "There are too many buildings for us to search with the amount of time we have left. Let's think about where Michio is most likely to go."

Lixin looked at his soldiers and asked, "If you enter the palace, where is the most likely place you would go?"

Ping said, "I will probably go to the Throne Hall."

Abrafo looked at the soldier and said, "I agree with him."

Yul said, "Let's go find the Throne Hall then."

As soon as Yul finished speaking, a huge shadow enveloped them from above. Yul, Abrafo, Lixin, and Lixin's men looked up at the sky, and saw four magic arrays high above the city. As soon as the four magic arrays rose to the sky, the four magic arrays quickly plummeted to the ground. The surrounding ground shook violently and thick dust flew up, mixing with the air. The barrier that protected the city from harm was suddenly broken, and the dust was blowing towards the men down below.

Yul looked back behind them, and he saw a building with several doors. He shouted, "Hide inside those rooms."

The men rushed into the doors closest to them and quickly closed the door behind them.

Yul waves his hands in front of his face, trying to remove the dust from him. Abrafo, who was standing next to Yul, suddenly coughed violently from inhaling dust as he ran to the room. Yul and Abrafo found themselves the only two people in the small room. The two looked at each other when they heard coughing from the next room.

"Well, I'm not the only one inhaling the dust," Abrafo laughed. He coughed again.

Yul took out his leather water bag and said, "Rinse your mouth and drink some water. Maybe it will help."

Abrafo took the leather water bag, squeezed some water into his mouth, quickly rinsed his mouth, and spit out the water. He finds Yul staring at the bed. He walks up to Yul and says, "What are you... holy shit..." He takes a quick step back when he sees a pile of severed corpses on the bed. He was breathing heavily, and his heart was beating fast. He took a few deep breaths before recovering, and slowly approached Yul again. "That armor..." He felt a little nauseous, as if he would vomit at any time.

Yul said, "The soldiers who are traveling with us have the same design armor."

Abrafo tapped quickly on the wall next to them. "Lixin! Lixin!"

"What!" Yul and Abrafo heard Lixin's muffled voice coming from the room to their left.

Yul shouted, "Your soldiers, are they accounted for."

They waited for a while but heard nothing.

Abrafo said, "That thing on the bed can't be them, what do you think?"

Lixin pressed his ear to the wall. He yelled, "What!" Then suddenly he heard a soft whisper, which he believed to be Abrafo's voice, whispering: 'The two soldiers with you are fake'. He turned to look at the two soldiers who were with him in the room. "Did you hear what he was saying?" he asked.

Chen said, "I heard him say, are you and your soldiers dead?"

Lixin looked at Heng and asked, "What about you?"

Heng said, "I heard him say..."

Lixin said angrily, "What?"

Heng blushed and said, "I heard him say... say... let's get naked."

Lixin slowly clenched his sword on his side tightly, debating whether he should kill these two men or wait a little longer.

Feng, Xiang, Ping, and Hui were in the right room sat quietly, waiting for the dust to clear before going out. The soldiers looked around the room and found that it was a simple bedroom with only one bed. The four soldiers decided to sit and wait, when suddenly they felt tired and yawned wildly. Ping and Hui decided to sit on the bed, but shortly after they sat down, they suddenly fell asleep on the bed. Staring at Ping and Hui, Feng and Xiang who sat at the table also fallen asleep on the table.

In the room on the left, Lixin, Chen and Heng sat far apart from each other, with their swords drawn. The three men still have doubts about each other's identities, so they refused to let go of the sword in their hand.

Lixin said, "We don't know what's going on, so let's put down our weapons."

Heng said, "What if you are not the real Lord Lixin?"

"What have you done to our master?" asked Chen, staring at a man in red with bright yellow eyes.

Lixin said, "I am your Lord. I order you to put down your weapons." He looked at the two scared soldiers and slowly put his weapon to the floor. "Look, I put down my weapon, you two should put down your weapons as well." He put his sword on the floor and raised his hands. While putting down the sword, Lixin found that the two soldiers continued staring at him in horror. "Put down your weapons..."

Chen and Heng looked up, and what they saw this time was no longer the man in red with bright yellow eyes, but a demonic creature sucking blood from Lixin's throat.

"Lord Lixin," Chen and Heng shouted, holding their swords, and rushing towards the monster.

Yul rolled his eyes to the left and saw Abrafo chewing on a bloody finger. He blinked quickly again, and turned to look at Abrafo, but there was no bloody finger in Abrafo's mouth.

Yul asked, "What did you eat just now?"

Abrafo said, "What?"

Yul said, "I saw you were chewing on something."

Abrafo shook his head and pointed to the pile of corpses on the bed. "There's this on the bed. I don't have the appetite to eat." He looked down at his feet and found a hole in the side of the shoe. Abrafo shook his head and saw that Yul had already swung his sword at Abrafo.

Abrafo quickly drew out his sword and swung it at Yul. Seeing the sword coming, Yul quickly retreated towards the bed.

Yul is shocked by Abrafo's surprise attack. He asked shockingly, "What are you doing?"

Abrafo said, "You're going to kill me."

Yul was taken aback, "Me? Wanting to kill you? Are you out of your mind?"

Abrafo saw that Yul was holding a map instead of a sword. He put down his sword and said, "I saw you swinging your sword at me."

Yul sighed and stood up. "I saw you were chewing a bloody finger," he said.

Abrafo's jaw was about to drop. "I wouldn't do something like that. I'm not a cannibal," he said angrily to Yul.

Yul suddenly remembered the incident in Bell Forest. He said, "Abrafo, do you still remember the incident in Bell Forest?"

Abrafo said annoyingly, "Yes...I remember...but what does it have to do with you calling me a cannibal..." Abrafo's eyes widened when he suddenly remembered that he and Yul were in a similar situation back in Bell Forest. "A mirage..."

"We must have stepped into someone's trap," Yul said knowing in his heart that the room now seemed more dangerous than the dust outside. "Let's get out of here."

Abrafo asked, "What about the dust?"

Yul said, "It shouldn't be so thick now. This room messes with our minds, and the longer we stay, the more dangerous we will be." Yul looked around the room and found the bed's drapes are still in good shape. With a swing of his sword, he severed the lower part of the drape. He sheathed his sword back to the scabbard on his back, tore the drape in two pieces. "Use it as a mask to prevent dust from being inhaled." He handed the other half to Abrafo.

Yul and Abrafo covered their faces with the cut drape and headed for the door. Abrafo grabbed the handle and pulled the door open, but it was closed tightly. Abrafo tried two more times but was unable to open the closed door.

Abrafo said, "Yul, I can't open it."

Yul said, "Try again."

Abrafo tried again, but with the same effect, the door was shut tightly. "It won't budge." He pulled as hard as he could.

Yul turned to see if he could find something to help Abrafo open the door when he saw the severed body parts being slowly assembled on the bed. "Abrafo, you need to find a way to open that door as soon as possible... we have company...." He slowly pulled his sword from the scabbard on his back.
