Seventh Young Master

"What do you mean you don't have any information about this world?" It took all of Leon's self control to keep his calm.

[As I said, I was not uploaded with any intel about this world. The Heavens saw fit that you must be self reliant, including being able to gather information on your own.]

Leon really wanted nothing more than to shout to the Heavens about how unreasonable it was being. Alright, he will just have to go into this with the mindset that he's dealing with yet another incompetent boss.

[Careful with what you think, such insults will not be taken lightly, this is your only warning.]

"Ah, shit." He felt a chill go down his spine at the warning. Maybe it wasn't the best thing getting on the nerve of these all powerful existences. He would also have to keep in mind that his thoughts were no longer a safe space to think whatever he wanted without repercussions. Well it's not like having his boss breathing down his neck was a new experience.

"Alright, can you at least give me any basic information about cultivation."

[...]

"Of course not."

"Well sitting here won't do me any good, I'll just see what I can find in the Rain Clan."

Now Leon had a new set of problems. He lacked all information about his new identity except that he was the seventh son of the Rain Clan. Hopefully that meant the seventh son of the main family and not some side branch if this was anything like noble families in history.

So, what should he do if he encounters anyone that knows the original? Which seems to be very likely seeing how he's currently in the original's home. It would probably be game over if he meets any of the family members.

Amnesia? That doesn't sound realistic. Plus there's too many unknown factors with the unknown technology level of this world and the existence of cultivation. Wouldn't he be screwed if they have some method to tell if he's lying or not?

Honestly, the worst case scenario is if they're able to see if the soul is different. However, since the Heavens was the one who orchestrated this whole matter then he should be solid in that regard right?

Maybe he should just act like he's sick and refuse to see anyone? Just hole up in the room? No, that would just delay the inevitable. Plus he wouldn't be able to gather any information if he were to be confined in the room. Again cultivation would also be an unknown, who knows if there's some cure-all method that they're capable of. Even if there's not, they'll probably be able to diagnose that there's nothing wrong with him and he's just faking it.

Finally, Leon came up with a pretty simple method that seemed plausible.

When Leon got up from the bed he noticed how sore his muscles were. His face also felt pretty gross from all the dried tears and snot that was still covering it. "Well first off I need to take a bath." It would be better to not draw attention to himself right now, and his mess of a face would certainly catch any passerby's attention.

He opened the door a crack and peeked outside. Seeing no one out in the hallway he fully exited his room. Only to be confronted by his lack of knowledge on the layout of this building.

He stood there not knowing whether he should start opening doors or walk in some random direction. He was brought out of his thoughts when he heard footsteps coming from down the hallway.

He decided to risk it and see if the newcomer would be of any help to him. It's not like someone would immediately suspect that the person in front of them had been replaced. Honestly, if he encountered anyone like that he'd probably doubt their sanity, even if they were right in this case.

To his relief, the person walking towards him seemed to be a servant judging from their clothes. Probably shouldn't address them as such though, it would be pretty awkward if it's just a poorly dressed clan member.

The odd thing though was the visible change in their expression when their gaze landed on him. Panic could be seen in their eyes that soon morphed into resignation as they continued onward while keeping their head down. Did the original have a bad reputation amongst the servants?

It seemed that the servant wanted to avoid him and be on his way, well sorry that's not going to happen. However, seeing how hard he's trying to avoid him, he probably tried to have as little interaction with the original as possible. He'll probably try to rush through any conversation with him too. Now how should he go about getting directions to the bathroom from this servant without being too obvious about it.

"Hey."

The servant's reaction was amusing to say the least. Seeing a human being suddenly freeze up like a deer in headlights before frantically looking around the hall. Looking for a way to escape or to see if someone else was being addressed probably, anything to free him from this possible hell.

With slumped shoulders he dragged his feet as he approached his death, was what you would think from the abject terror plastered over his face. Isn't this servant being a little too disrespectful? How much of a monster was the original? It seems like he will have to act a little mean if he wants to match the image of what he's supposed to be like in the servant's head.

"I wish to bathe, go prepare the bath for me."

Unwillingness could be seen for merely a second before the servant fixed his expression. Wouldn't want to offend this young master it seems, although it's a little late as Leon had already seen the myriad of negative emotions on this servant's face during their brief interaction. The servant opened and closed his mouth a few times, possibly trying to come up with an excuse to refuse, before giving up on the idea.

"Yes Seventh Young Master, please follow me," then he glanced down at what Leon was wearing, "I will have another servant get you a change of clothes." It seemed like he had already thought of pushing this burden onto another servant. Well not like it really mattered which servant he was dealing with as long as all of they feared him as much as this one.

It was a shame that he couldn't learn his name though. Is his name just going to be Seventh Young Master from now on? What should he do if he encounters one of his siblings? Hi there Sixth Young Master, how was your day. Ah yes Seventh Young Master, my day has been grand. Yeah, no. Maybe there's a book about his family tree?

Leon kept glancing around as he followed the servant, trying to judge what was behind the different doors. His attention was drawn over as one of the doors opened up. From behind the door came out a young man who looked to be in his mid 20s. From his clothes it could be assumed that he wasn't a coworker of the servant in front of him. Could this be his first encounter with someone from the Rain Clan?

His gaze swept over the duo before stopping on Leon. Leon was surprised to see the visible disgust that this person directed towards him. Seems like the original really wasn't liked, well the less people that were close to the original the better. Seems like his takeover might really go unnoticed.

"Greetings Sixth Young Master."

Well at least the servant helped provide him with the identity of this individual who obviously has some problems with him. His brother huh. Who knew the actor from the little play he had in his head would appear before him? Should he really call him Sixth Young Master?

Well it seems like Leon was freed from his worries as his brother snorted and continued on to wherever he was going. Hey if no one wants to initiate dialogue with him, then who was he to complain? He continued following behind the servant and finally arrived at his destination, the bathroom.

His attention was switching between watching the servant fill up the bath and glancing around the room. It was certainly the biggest bathroom he had ever seen, also the fanciest. Although it looked mostly empty, plus everything in the room seemed like it had to be done manually. It seemed like this world lacked any type of plumbing, luckily he had servants to handle everything.

He reigned in his wandering gaze as he noticed the servant seemed to be finishing up. He didn't think much of it at first when the servant approached him, but he was certainly shocked when he started taking off Leon's clothes. After a second of hesitation he decided against stopping the servant. Isn't this something that nobles did in his world in the old times? It would probably be better to go along with it for now. Still didn't stop him from feeling uncomfortable about it.

After he was fully nude he submerged his body into the tub before looking over at the servant. "Leave me, I wish to relax. Make sure someone brings me a change of clothes." After the servant was dismissed Leon was finally able to relax his expression. "This will get very tiring, thankfully I didn't say anything strange."

[You must get used to this. It will be beneficial to both of us if you keep your current identity.]

"You've been strangely quiet."

[There was no need for me to speak, you also seemed to be lost in your own thoughts. It seemed unwise to distract you.]

"Yeah, you're right. I've just been trying to get a feel for what kind of person the original was. Everyone seems to have a bad perception of me. It seems like the original was one real unlikable fellow."

[It is because of how the original acted and his horrible reputation that this body was chosen. This kind of reputation is necessary for you to play the role of Young Master.]
