Menacing Old Man

After a few more minutes of relaxing in the water a different servant entered the bathroom. It seemed that the first servant had found a replacement and bailed. While the new servant was a woman this time the fear was still the same.

He allowed the new servant to wash him as he had no idea which bottle was for what, though he still took care of the more delicate areas himself. It didn't matter if he was supposed to keep the act going, that still wasn't a line he could feel comfortable crossing.

The female servant who had been trembling the whole time froze and stared at him blankly. At first he feared he had revealed himself by how she was focusing on him but was enlightened when he heard her give out a breath of relief and visibly relaxed. It seemed like the original was not only a menace but also a lecher.

Honestly, it seemed like the original being gone was a good thing and made the world a better place. However, now he had to deal with the consequences of his actions while not being allowed to improve his reputation.

After he was done being washed he exited the bathtub and saw her waiting off to the side with a new set of clothes. Was she going to dress him? He thought of dismissing the poor lady but decided otherwise when he looked closer at the new clothes. He couldn't make out heads or tails on how to put them on.

After a few minutes of being embarrassed while feeling like a child again he was fully dressed. He started heading off towards the door but stopped when he saw a mirror that was placed next to the door, it seemed that he had missed it when he walked in. He was kind of interested in his new appearance.

He didn't really have any attachment to his old body or appearance. While his looks might have been pretty average, his body had been pretty toned and his proper grooming ended up tipping him over into being slightly above average. He only kept up his appearance though for the sake of appearing professional.

The moment he took in his new appearance his eyes went wide in disbelief. The image in the mirror that looked back at him was both familiar and foreign at the same time. What he saw before him was his old self, that is if he had never taken care of his body. He could make out the similar facial features and even the body looked slightly similar. The only major difference was that the body lacked the muscle that he had built up and was instead swapped out with a slightly chubby physique. While he wouldn't call himself overweight, it was a body that would make someone think that the owner hadn't worked out a single day in their life nor did they lack food.

He could spot the familiar oval shaped head with the brown hair and eyes he had thought looked a little boring when he was younger. While his jawline wasn't as pronounced as it was before due a bit of fat covering it he could still find the similarity. His face was clean shaven compared to the 2 inch beard he usually had. While he had been able to tell even without looking at a mirror, he really couldn't deny that his hair was pretty long. Thankfully it had been tied up into a ponytail which made it easier to deal with.

Why was it that even though he was currently inhabiting a body different from his own, he still sees his old self looking back at him? Sure the body might have some slight differences when compared to what he was used to, but it could be attributed more to how the original had taken care of his body rather than it being entirely different.

Parallel Universe? Was this just the him from a different universe? Just another reason why he had been chosen for the Young Master project? Since he already had a version of himself that already fit the role? A more terrifying thought suddenly came to mind. What if this was just something that the Heavens were capable of?

Did the Heavens create this person with his appearance and give them the fate of being a 'Young Master' just so they could be replaced by him in the end? There was also the fact that even with this revelation, the system had not spoken up at all. Was it true? Or did even it not know the truth?

With the fear of such a possibility pressing down upon him he dragged himself away from the mirror. The servant had been standing off to the side and had not interrupted him as he had taken in his appearance. He had probably just piled being a possible narcissist on top of her judgment of him. Well it matters not, he had already given up on trying to create any type of positive image for himself.

He exited the bathroom only to find an older looking servant waiting for him. While he could also be identified as a servant, he couldn't be anymore different to the others he had seen so far. The only similarity between him and the others was the style of his clothing, but even the quality of said clothing was far beyond what they had worn.

However, rather than the clothing it was the man himself that caught Leon's attention, or to be more exact his presence. He looked like an older gentleman in his late 50s with slicked back hair being a mix of black with white streaks on the sides. His neatly trimmed beard was also a mix of black and white while being shaved close to his face. While his appearance might have made him seem like a stern old man, his aura was one that demanded attention and placed a pressure on all those around him.

Leon couldn't help but wonder, was this old man a cultivator? Was this aura that of a person who had trained their body to be a living weapon? Or was it just an aura of authority? Why would he be a mere servant?

So many questions were running through his mind, but he had to shove them aside as the strange servant addressed him.

"Seventh Young Master, it is good to see that you have recovered."

Recovered? It doesn't seem like he was talking about the little episode he had in his room earlier. Then a thought crossed his mind. Did something happen to the original, is that how he had been able to take over? He had thought that the Heavens had hijacked the body for him, but it seemed like the original might have died beforehand.

Well that can be thought upon later, he currently had some type of super middle age servant to deal with. Time to enact his earlier plan.

"I'm fine, I don't want to talk about it."

The plan to act as if he was in a bad mood! Nobody wants to deal with someone in a bad mood! Hell, most people try to openly avoid such people.

"I understand. I won't bring it up again."

Huh, he seems to be pretty obedient. Is he actually a servant after all? This clan of his has some pretty high standards. Maybe he's the head servant? Well if he's this obedient he might end up being useful. However, if this is his personal servant then he will have to be careful to not act suspicious. It is odd though that he doesn't show any signs of disgust or fear towards him. Could it be that the original also felt the pressure from this servant and didn't dare to mess with him?

While ending the conversation might be a shame since it seemed to involve his safety, he thought it was better to avoid it. There are too many possibilities of what happened to the original. Based on what kind of person he had been it's not surprising if it had been some type of punishment. It could also be some type of murder attempt, oh wait he had actually died so he can just drop the 'attempt'. If so it's better to not openly start asking questions. Hell, for all he knows it could have been done by the servant right in front of him.

No, it's better to act after he gains some information about his situation. Now he only had to figure out what would be the best place to gather said information. He thought about trying to just gain some information from servants gossiping, but tossed the thought away. Even if they say something important, he couldn't verify such information plus he'd probably get confused since he wouldn't be able to connect any names to any places or people.

"I wish to go to the library."

He had come to the conclusion that it would be best for him if he gathered basic information on his environment first.
