The pain of betrayal

Christopher arrived at Brad's villa in no time. When he entered the hall, he found him pacing back and forth, seemingly worried.

"Chris…" Brad came over to him.

"Are you not feeling well?" Christopher was equally concerned as he looked at his flustered face.

"Tsk… I am fine." Brad grimaced. "But there are a lot of things going on that we don't know about, and it is not fine at all."

"Okay… First, calm down."

"Calm down? Are you asking me to sit and relax?" Brad's frown deepened. "When you learn about it, your condition will be similar to mine, if not worse."

Brad's frantic demeanor really tensed Christopher.

"You've already made me anxious. Now tell me what is bothering you."

Brad grabbed his shoulders and said reluctantly, "Promise me first that you will not react recklessly before I finish speaking."

Christopher felt a knot in his stomach. He was certain Brad had found something distressing.
