Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered.

"Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." 

He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute.

“Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?”

His silence was the clear answer.

When Abigail saw Jasper's number on the screen, her heart sank. Her words had sown seeds of doubt in his mind, and she knew he was worried about her. She didn't know how to explain to him that it was all her fault and that everything between her and Christopher was all right.

With a trembling heart, she picked up the phone and pressed it against her ear.

"Good morning, Jasper." She mustered a smile.

"Are you okay?" he asked worriedly. "Did Christopher scold you?"

"No, no… he didn't… It was…"

"Abigail, pay attention... You have nothing to be afraid of. I am looking into it. If I find something unusual, I will let you know. You need to be very careful. Call me right away if you see anything strange. I will come to help you, no matter what."

"Um… Thank you for your concern. I will keep that in mind." She said that because she didn't want to stretch the conversation.
