Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered.

"Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." 

He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute.

“Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?”

His silence was the clear answer.

Gloria also gave her a matching necklace set.

The necklace was made of glittering blue stones. It had a delicate chain and a stunning pendant in the shape of a flower, with each petal adorned with tiny diamonds.

Abigail gaped at the necklace, still trying to process that Gloria had brought her something so expensive.

Gloria's smile faded when she observed her staring at the necklace without saying anything. She thought Abigail didn't like it.

"You don't like this! Don't worry. Come with me tomorrow. I will pick whatever you like."

She was about to close the jewelry box when Abigail stopped her, saying, "I like it, Mom… It's just dazzlingly beautiful."

Gloria's smile resumed. "You like it!"

"Of course." Abigail took the box and stroked the blue pendant with her thumb. "I like it."

Not only did she appreciate the gifts, but she also appreciated her kindness and generosity.
