Prologue

Jasper had a meeting with an important client. It was late when the meeting finally ended. When he came out of the hotel, he noticed it was raining heavily.

Jasper got into the car, hesitating whether to drive or wait for a while.

The rain poured relentlessly, its constant drumming on the car's roof forming a disquieting backdrop for his restless thoughts. He couldn't help but feel a sense of vulnerability and discomfort during the heavy downpour, as it stirred memories from his past he'd rather forget. Rain, in all its ferocity, served as a stark reminder of events he would rather keep buried.

Jasper's grip on the steering wheel tightened, and his eyes were transfixed on the rain-splattered windshield. He contemplated waiting for the rain to relent, but a sense of urgency stemming from Sebastian's request echoed in his mind, compelling him to push forward.
