“What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm.

Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered.

"Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." 

He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute.

“Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?”

His silence was the clear answer.

Jasper scowled at her, clearly annoyed by her carelessness. For a moment, Ella feared he would reprimand her harshly, but he appeared to think better of it, perhaps considering her newcomer status.

Instead, he issued a stern warning, holding up his index finger to emphasize his point. "Listen, if you want to work here, you must follow my rules," he declared, his voice firm but controlled.

Ella nodded eagerly, intimidated by his authoritarian demeanor. Jasper continued, "You are not allowed to leave the house without my explicit permission. Do you understand?"

"You cannot go out of the house without my permission," he said sternly.

Feeling a mixture of fear and respect, Ella nodded again, her heart racing with anticipation. What other rules might Jasper have in store for her?
