7. Demon mode

I'm falling, through the clouds. Through the endless blue sky. I'm falling past birds and treetops, straight down like a rocket. I'm falling! I flapped my arms hoping that I had mysteriously grown a set of wings, but to no prevail. How am I to stay alive, if she keeps putting me in these bizarre situations? The ground came closer and closer in to view. I shut my eyes. I collided into another stranger. "Where did you come from?" A guy with a shade of pink hair, much like mine, asked me bewildered. I pointed up towards the sky. They followed my finger. He's eyes grew in size. "What are you? You smell funny!" He concluded. "You wouldn't believe me even if I told you," I said sassily. "Try me!" He spat as he throws me off and jumped up. "I'm Luna Rose Dragneel," I started and stopped mid sentence. The God-like woman's words crossed my mind. I shouldn't be afraid. I should learn to trust. I should fall in love and build friendships. I inhaled sharply: "I'm a fire wizard," I said full of confidence. "I'm a fire demon. How about a little rumble, to see who's stronger?" He offered. I smiled at the thought. Using my fire ability would feel so good; I haven't used it in what feels like forever. I agreed. He struck me with a ball of flames. I ate it up, effortlessly and stated, "That is some pretty descent flames you've got there. I'm impressed!" His eyes barely popped out of their sockets like a cartoon character. "What the hell…?" He exclaimed his question completely starstrucked. "I've been taught the art of lost magicDragon slaying magic from my father Igneel, the Fire Dragon from Fiore. This is just a detour. I've been trying to get back home for God only knows how long," I informed him. The students inched closer, staring at us in awe. Gawking. Listening. I feel like a Hippo in a pink tutu at the flamingo's ball. Me and my fire eating ability! A guy with blue hair stood up from the soft green field. He stared straight at me, which in all honesty, scares me a little. "Let's go Ace. You should come along too," he stated matter of factly. I'm not about to cross paths with him. There's some sort of energy surrounding him, which strikes me as odd. I can't say what precisely he is either. Is he a demon, or, is he but a mere human? I really can't put my finger to it. It might not be the safest of places or the best of times to ask him about it. I followed behind them. School! I never really liked these places. Too many people watching you. Too many rules to follow. I like my life uncomplicated, thank you very much!

"Ace, Clara. Could you please wait for me? Would you please follow me?" The blue head, who had yet to introduce himself to me (Neither of them had), asked twin questions. I obeyed. "Iruma, what can I do for you?" A white haired man asked lovingly as soon as we entered. His aura seems off. "Grandpa, would it be fine if she stays for a little while, or, at least until we can help her? I will explain everything at home," he asked politely. Grandpa! Have I heard correctly? Why ain't I getting the same vibe from him as I'm getting from the old man? "Sure, grandchild. I will let Opera know to prepare an extra room for our guest," he said kindly. "Iruma, aren't you going to introduce me to your newest friend?" He questioned. "Oh, sure! This is_" He stopped and looked at me, like he wasn't paying much attention earlier. "I'm Luna Rose Dragneel, Sir. It's a pleasure to meet you," I said with a fake smile. "I'm Lord Sullivan, Iruma here is my only grandchild and the privilege is all mine," he said in a thickly spread, sugar coated; kind of way. His entire attitude feels off. Should I be worried? The mysterious woman did tell me to trust the people around me, sure enough; you can't trust everybody that you cross paths with. Then again she wouldn't have practically thrown me into Iruma's lap if I couldn't trust him or his grandfather. "I'll be going home for the day, Grandpa. See you at home," he said before we turned around and left his office behind. "That was quick," the fire user said gruffly. "Yeah, she'll be going home with me. I'll inform Gramps about her situation and see what we can do to help her," he informed his pink headed friend. "Okay, Iruma. See you next week," a young girl with green hair said excitedly as she bobbed around like a little winded up bunny. She's just too adorable for words. This is a demon school after all, so she too won't be a force to be reckoned with.

On our way down a long winding road, I decided that it's about time to break the awkward silence. "Pardon me for being bold, but who are you? You haven't introduced yourself to me yet," I asked bluntly. He rubbed the back of his neck. Did he and the other guys who have this action in common all stand in the same line? "Sorry, I'm Iruma Suzuki. The energetic green head is called Clara Valac, and your duelling partner is Alice Asmodeus," he introduced on only himself but his friends too. "May I ask you something personal?" He asked shyly. I nodded in reply, nothing seems personal anymore. "Are you human?" I looked up at him dumbfounded. "I'm a wizard that uses fire dragon magic, but yeah as far as I'm concerned, I'm just a human girl," I answered him in the long run. "I figured as much when Ace said that you smelt funny. They can smell a human from a mile away. Gramps poured some kind of a mist over me. Nobody knows!" He replied. "So you are human, I thought so much," I told him with a coy smile. "You knew all along?" His question sounded more rhetorical. "I have a strong sense of smell and you smelt funny. I decided that perhaps it wasn't the best idea, asking you about it at school. Seeing how they haven't noticed." He thanked me wholeheartedly. "Good afternoon, Iruma. And who is your lovely friend?" A guy with long red hair and cat ears asked at entrance. "This is Luna Rose Dragneel. Luna meet Opera our servant," Iruma introduced us to each other. "Welcome Miss Luna, I hope that your stay with us would be memorable," he said as he politely bowed his head. "Thank you Opera, it's nice to meet you too," I said coyly and followed Iruma in through the open doors. I joined him at table, a meal spread fit for a king laid out in front of us. I enjoyed it. The way that Iruma eats reminds me an awfully lot about that brother of mine. Oh, Natsu_ Happy! How I miss you guys? Erza, Lucy, and Gray_ I miss them all so very much. "You seem to be lost in thought, my dear," Iruma's grandfather said. "I miss home. I miss my friends both old and new. I miss my brother the most of all," I said sadly.

Iruma cleared his throat and said: "Luna isn't from our realm, apparently. She fell from the sky, directly on to Asmodeus. She too uses fire, hers is just a form of dragon slayer magic," Iruma explained to his grandfather and Opera. "Peculiar, very peculiar," Lord Sullivan stated. "Had you met with any heavenly body?" He concluded with a rather bold question. "As a matter of fact, Sir, yes I had. The mysterious curtain that keeps appearing and spitting me out in random worlds, took the form of an enormous woman," I informed him. Maybe things would finally go my way if I follow her set of rules to the nine. This is more then just a game to me. The journey that's to follow could change my entire life. I could get trap in one of these realms if I don't watch my steps. "You're in luck, my dear. I can help you out but I'd prefer if you stayed, if only until Sunday. Your visit could do Iruma good and Opera would surely enjoy the company. Wouldn't you, Opera?" He said with a broad smile. I'm not picking up any ill wishes from his side. "Indeed, company is welcome," the red head smiled broadly as he looked my way. I hope the old man don't have anything up his sleeve to extend my stay for even longer!

I had a well deserved break from everything. I want to return home with every fibre in my body, but even so I wish that I could have stayed longer with Levi. I miss him so much. He must be in complete ruins. My heart breaks for him. My stay was over before I even had a chance to begin.

Quickly my weekend with Iruma and Opera came to an end. "Grandpa, didn't you tell Moon that you'd help her return today?" Iruma asked his grandpa. "Good golly is it Sunday already. I hoped that she'd stay a while longer," he stated surprised. He bobbed around like a little animated doll, babbling nonstop about how he would like to adopt another grandchild. I swallowed my laughter. Iruma didn't seem to find it amusing. He stared the Lord of demons down. "Just kidding! Please, follow me?" he asked as he leads the way. Inside his chamber he stopped in front of his wardrobe and opened it up. Rummaging through the drawers. "Grandpa? What are you doing?" Iruma asked confused. I stared at the scene dumbfounded. "Looking for her way out of here," he answered nonchalantly. "In there? How can_" Iruma started but was cut off when the old man exclaimed: "Found it!" He took out a neatly folded cloth and unfolded it. The fabric looks familiar. Where have I seen it before? As he hung it up, realization sunk in. The mysterious curtain looks exactly the same. "You just happened to have a mysterious curtain laying around, Sir?" I asked the old man to my dismay. "Apparently, this is an exact replica. It's for emergency use only," he answered casually, like it's the most normal thing in the world. "You're journey awaits my dear," he told me with a sad smile. I greeted Iruma and then Opera; just as I was to walk through I turn my attention towards the man of the hour and greeted him too. Thank you, Lord Sullivan; it was a weekend worth remembering, I thought to myself before I vanished from their reality.
