Chapter 2 Am Human

"Excused me miss, the council is ready to see you now.

"Miss Mckenzie".

I stood up immediately as I heard the secretary call to me

walking towards the direction where she lead me neatly dressed for my appointment with the elders I stepped into a very immense conference room larger enough to host at least twenty people for a meeting, with sits arranged circularly while the walls had a grey-colored painting on them, hanging on the wall were pictures of past Alpha's who had to lead the council and packs until their unfortunate demised. I had the liberty of meeting through my father since he used to take me along to his pack meetings when I was a kid. I felt quite nervous and very Uncomfortable being there because I despise strict engagement that requires proper manners which mostly is boring. As I stood in their sight feeling scrutinized by them I flashed back to how my life suddenly took a deep dive into fortunate events.

Flashback to two years ago

When I turned sixteen I was very unsettled that I had not shifted into my wolf form just like my other siblings,

I recalled how we used to talk for hours about how we'll shift and run in the forest in search of rabbits and other little creatures just to amuse ourselves with it. And so sadly I became intense and very furious when I couldn't have my first shift at sixteen, criticizing the moon goddess for being unkind to me, as I had only one desire in life, and that's to become a werewolf just like my parents. it was a dark day for me as I cried for days and finally begged my parents to turn me into a werewolf just like in the movies I had seen in the past it always works even though it was dangerous yet I was desperate and anything was on my top list. Devastated to hear about my craving to be turned into a werewolf through other means, they confided to me my true personality, which gave me the surprise of my life. Alpha Frank and Luna Julia my parents sat down with me as they narrated the story of my existence to me. The story of a human child found on the pack territory on one cold night with its mother dead, through childbirth. I couldn't believe my ears, tears strimmed down my cheeks as I pleaded with them to tell me the truth, any other truth for that matter because I declined to believe the story was apparent to acknowledge. I was regaled and made to feel wanted and loved by everyone in the pack for sixteen years, enjoying the same privilege my brothers had while we grew up and even more, now that I turned sixteen I've got the very best designer clothes, shoes, and accessories and even owns a Mercedes-Benz with a chauffeur how could this be possible I asked.

" Are the pack members knowledgeable of this, that's a human

" I scowled at them"

As remorse was written all over their faces as I asked

How about my brothers, how long have they known about it? They couldn't concede either "Oh goddess, they knew, is that why they've been avoiding me all week I asked them as they nodded, how stupid I might look to them as I facepalm myself while crying my heart out.

"Honey no one is judging you" my mum replied in a worried tone. We love you just the way you are honey please don't feel embarrassed about yourself ok" she pleaded with me as she hugged me holding on a little tighter for comfort which I don't mind since she is all I've got as we speak. Ok so now what? I challenged both parents as they stared in awe at me. what do you mean honey dad replied looking sadly at me, do I need to move to the human town and stay there, and when do I leave this house waving my hands as I spoke. I stammered while asking them if they needed me out of their home since am not related to them or the pack for that matter.

" No! and don't you dare!

young lady's dad answered furiously as his wolf Maxine came out to the surface In anger scaring the hell out of me. but you just confirm that you're not my parents, I mean shouldn't I go find them, my birth parents I spoke as tears trill down my cheeks with a feeling of the overwhelming need to be loved.

"Sweetie there is nothing for you to find

" Believe me we are all you've got and we love you, werewolf or not she pleaded. We did look for feasible leads on your mother and any known relative just to take you in when you were found, but there were no living relatives and your mum's records were sealed."Hopefully, we managed to get evidence on her since she died on our land while giving a bath to you and what we uncovered was very little sad to tell you see she was an orphan at birth and when she turned eighteen she worked at a club called the blues as a dancer, it was at the club where she was raped by her boss, who was a very influential and powerful, Mafia king according to our search, it concluded how your mother was expecting and on the run. we also found a police report and according to the report she was raped and physical abuse, the information helped us piece the story together. When she realized that she was expecting and felt unsafe with you she took off to protect you, honey and she died doing just that.

" dad said as he brought his story to an end.

"Enough of this, you are family now ok and the council is your guardian and they will like to meet you for further discussions, dad spoke, as I looked suspiciously at him while asking who the council were and what part they play in my situation. You remember the meeting I used to take you to get asked as nodded, how could I forget it was boring cause I got to sit why they talk for hours but the fun part was when I get to eat all I want at a fancy restaurant oh and lots of ice cream.

"Honey they are the ones you belong to, we're only your parents Aurora but the council makes all the decisions about your life and we only follow as it should be, he explained. enough you two, I don't want this pity cry and long explanation anymore, Don't want your brothers to find out you cried again she pulled me from the sofa in a hug as she suggested we go to the kitchen for some vanilla chocolate ice cream which is my favorite and while we eat and watch some movies alongside ok

"mom said".

So here I am in the presence of the council of six male alphas, dressed in suits, these are previous alphas of our pack and neighboring pack chaired by the crescent moon pack, Alpha Bright

He went straight to the point while looking at me

Alpha Bright: "Aurora your dad said you turn sixteen yesterday correct," he asked

Aurora: "yes I did Alpha"

Alpha Bright:" And you know what we are a right young lady"

Aurora:" yes I do, Alpha"

Alpha Bright: "I would like to hear you say what you think we are if you could please"

Aurora:" I look at all six men around the table and lowed my eyes as I felt tears slip from my eyes, not one of sadness but one of want to be just like them"

Alpha Bright:" Eyes up here young lady and answer the question if you would please.

Aurora: "werewolves you all are werewolves"

Alpha Bright: "and you, what kind of creature are you," he asked.

Aurora: watching them observe as they gathered around I knew my reply will determine if I wanted to be part of this pack or not and I trusted with all my heart wanted to be part since this was my home and so I said the only truth in my heart.

I, Aurora Makenzie daughter of Alpha Frank Makenzie and Luna Julia Makenzie been human accept the laws of werewolves to be applied to me as a part of the Blood Moon Pack, I declared,"

As the room fell silent for a while since the alphas were mind-linking each other, finally, Alpha Bright spoke.

Alpha Bright: "having to pledge your allegiances to the werewolf council, Aurora you've agreed that your life from this day forward will be planned for you by this council rather than your current parents, as usual, do you agree to this, he asked.

Aurora: as his words said home they wouldn't ask me to leave . "yes I agree please I firmly said.

According to wolf ways, you should start finding your Mate once you've got your wolf but since you're Human, I believe it's going to be different.

"He asked as I blushed upon hearing this, I was only sixteen and I don't have a boyfriend yet, fanny to say 'cause I believe I heard dad clear his throat.

"Well, unfortunately, it is not allowed, so in four years we will choose a mate for you and arrange your Union together Aurora he informed as he continued

"An Alpha will be chosen for you if by that time the Alphas from the neighboring park are all mated, a beta of the good standard will be selected for you as your chosen mate.
